1. I don't buy and sell a huge amount, but please leave some feedback when I do, please Cheers, Marco
2. Just sold Cliff a pedal, a beautifully smooth transaction. Instant communication and payment, what more do you want? Marco
3. This guy used to run a shop close to my hometown in Italy, with a mouth-watering array of vintage gear. He now no longer runs a shop, he deals only in vintage gear through the internet. He has a '66 and a '68 prec on the stock list.
4. Price now includes postage. Can't stand the 'bay...
5.
10 Points! Yeah playing there on Dec the 4th. I think it's free in, so if you're at a loose end, drop in and say hi, think we're on a bout 8:30. Cheers, Eude
My office is on the same street, I walk past the pub practically every day. I have seen they put gigs on quit regularly, good on them! Is it mostly jazzy/acoustic, or do they do rock stuff as well? I've also got a gig that night, but let me know if and when you play there again!
6.
...plus at our next one, we'll be quickly followed by a Burlesque show...
Guilty Lily's?
7.
i think in edinburgh you have to do it yourself. I've seen a fair few good bands get stuck ata certain level and struggle to make it bigger than that. To avoid this I think only ever play bannermans once if at all!
What about whistle binkie's? Do you burn yourself out if you play there more than once? I'm trying to see what places we can offer our services to, I want to get more gigs than just parties and functions...
8. I took a couple of (not very good) pictures of the plate at the back, you can still see the camo paint Unfortunately the plaque looks to have been painted over and then cleaned with some solvent, which took away much of the original writing.
9. I nearly bought one of these some time ago, they look and sound great, especially at mid to low volume IMO. The sound is quite Ampeg-y, perhaps unsurprisingly. I agree that they are overpriced for what they are, but I heard rumours that they were due to come down in price somewhat. While I was waiting for the price drop, the TecAmp bonanza happened...
10. I've got a full head of dark hair, but i like wearing hats. So I do. I also seem to like biting my lips when playing...
11. I'm going to try one last bump, then I'm afraid it will go on the 'bay Get yourself a great combo for not much dosh! Make me an offer!
12.
I'd say the price is about right especially if it's the USA made version which were over the £500 mark when new.
I've checked the back, and unfortunately it says made in korea...Better come clean than give false assumptions. I paid around £350 new.
These are great loud little amps and well giggable, my housemate has the same amp (USA made) and it's a corker. Much better build quality than my A70 (which still rocks) They can pull off the Billy Gould FNM sound so they're ace in my book!
I have gigged with it a few times, on its own, with a rock band, in smallish venues. Reason for selling is that I jumped on the TecAmp bandwagon, courtesy of guitarguitar, and don't need it anymore.
13. Bump for another price drop. Someone take this off me already!
14. Cherubini, 360 via Tiburtina looks to be rather well stocked (link) I've never been, but it might be something to check out
15.
Probably all 3!!..Actually,it looks to me like a folded horn design - great for dub[I had the equivalent SAI model], but as you rightly say,not much in the way of top end, although with a 210 I would expect it to sound OK...As it happens, I always thought this design looked really cOOl
Price can be negotiated, weirdness and timings unfortunately not It is indeed a folded horn design, and it is one of the warmest sounding cab i've ever heard. I use it paired with a 4x10, and it sounds great. It would be even better with an 8ohm 2x10, which I don't have and can't afford at the moment ...
16.
do you have the model number?
I believe it is a 1555, folded horn design, 250W, 8 ohm
17. Black/black/maple, as seen in a couple of pictures on page 2. Here's the schematics I was talking about
18. Am I asking too much for this? It's a really nice combo, I just don't use it as much as I used to.
19. Is this too expensive, too weird, or just wrong timing?
20. I've recently found out a something else: the schematics of the T-40 you can download from the net refer to the post-1983 models, and show no resistors in the tone circuitry. My bass is from 1980, and if you open it, you can see a resistor staring back at you, right where the tone circuit connects to the volume pots. At first I thought it was some kind of modification, because I didn't seem to get much variation in tone, only a drop in volume. Further inspection revealed that it is infact part of a treble bleed, a high pass filter that helps retain high frequencies when lowering the volume. Expert opinion is that it is original wiring, and not a later mod. So it seems that pre-1983 models have an extra bit of circuitry to help with high frequencies. Could this be because earlier pickups are supposed to be a little darker-sounding?
21. I'd like shamelessly plug the combo i have for sale here. I have used it for pub gigs, and it's got a DI out if you want to put it through the PA
