1. Theory seems an odd move for the 'Modular Synth' themed blurb. What about... Advantages/disadvantages of buffers in signal chain EQ & Frequency exploration Application of software (ableton etc) in live performance Working with a Synth player (and not stepping on each others toes) Shep
2. About bloody time!!! A very good read & some useful stuff. I actually use very little signal splitting or blending... I do use an LS-2 to have 2 over lapping sounds on a couple of tracks. I aim to spend some real time on splitting the signal chain more so the Sub runs all the time and effect the higher frequencies - bit this will have to wait until I get some time off. When I finally go further down this route I'll prob give you a shout over some advice, Dan. Shep
3. I get ya' - Cheers. I'll have a think...
4.
Yea it can get real expensive real quick. Even Shep acknowledged that it would make little financial sense for a solely bedroom player to invest that heavily in effects. I for one am happy with just my OC2 and Orbit... for now.
My board is insured for about £2k... It's an expensive business...
5. Hmmm... I see. If the switch on the side is the original footswitch (on/off), what is the footswitch on the front for? Cheers Shep
6. You mean a pure clean smooth sub sound? Octave down -> Low Pass Filter = Pure clean huge sub
7. Fantastic. Love it dude!
8. Awesome. I've closed this one as its also in the 'Effect' section...
9. AWESOME pedal and bargain price. Mainstay of my fuzz sound now & works perfect with 9 & 18v Active Pre's. Someone should snap this up!
10. I missed last year, but enjoyed the year before. I'll be there if I cam arrange transport. Shep
11. Can we see a pic of the Whammy please as well as some close up of the conversion work with the scroll wheel. What do you mean by 'upgraded power supply'. Very interested pending pics etc… Shep
12.
This looked like quite an interesting thread but unfortunately you're on my ignore list so i can't see it
Well that was a pointless comment! Thanks for the input. I'm interested to see how this turns out. Well, actually looking forward to hearing how this turns out... Shep
13.
Touché
Stay away from my Touche... I hardly know you! Oh... Wait...
14.
Both of mine would have been better with smilies after them, apologies pantherairsoft C
No worries. I never even noticed that first comment... That'll teach me for walking into threads and not reading every post If I had read it before now I'd of replied 'No thanks, I'm happy with Roscoe'. Shep
15. I think it'll price the same as the Phaser. Although it is midi, so maybe not. I've already emailed Mark @ Hot Rox telling him to Pre-order me one.
16. I'm having one... No question.
17.
Oh man, you're bringing tears to my eyes, stop it
I can't mate... Dramatic is my middle name.
18.
We get it, you're a mod.
You may find this hard to believe dude but I'm also a human, a fairly normal guy, a bass player, hard worker, married man, sociable chap and a lot more besides. The fact I'm a 'mod' has little to do with everyone going around in circles and new people joining the fight who can't be bothered to read tue discussion from the start. It's only a matter of time before someone else pipes up with "I can't believe that KS could charge $100 for shipping a pot! What a rip off..." But thanks...
19. I agree this needs dropping now. We have been over the UPS shipping cost about 20 times. That's what it cost. Pick the cheaper option if you prefer. Ken does not have control over UPS's prices. As Ken has stated, the cost is the cost. No one would expect to get a free part for a product they bought2nd hand and that hasn't been made in 10 years or more. Ken has had chance to take on board everyone's feedback and comments regarding his approach to customer service and if he feels he needs to change something about the way he does business then that's up to him. Can I suggest that if people needto clear up a dispute or issue with Ken Smith Basses then they contact Ken directly as he seems a rational man who will always offer at least some solution to any problem that arises. Ill put it to the mod team that this thread be closed IF Ken desires it. Ken? Shep
20. Shall we consider this conversation drawn to a close then...? How many OT posts in a row do we think it needs before it gets relegated from General Bass Discussion to Off Topic At least it's friendly! That said, if I see that drummer at the wrong gig video crop up in anymore threads I may just have a mental breakdown...
21. Thanks dude. Diamond Wood is hit or miss with how it turns out - this is one of the nicest I've seen! I'd love a Rainbow Diamond Wood board on a bass... But I'm not daring enough to take the punt as no one knows what it will look like until it's radius'd and finished! As for being an awesome bassist - I'm not sure about that... But seriously appreciate the comment! Thanks Shep
22. Ha. Cheers bud! No no no. The Roscoe Fretless tone will continue to rock my world... I just don't need 2!
23.
yeah the service is crap.. hes a [comment removed by moderator] too...ive heard some bad things about that man.... 10 pages to find that out?
Whilst some conversation completely off the topic (I'm lookin at you Wayne & Skank ) may do nothing for the thread, comments like this are completely unhelpful and down right rude. Mr Smith has not called you names so please keep the childish school yard name calling to yourself. It's only because I'm happy to be full of Sunday Roast that I've not issued a warning. Shep
24.
And it's a constant struggle not to order a matching fretted model to be its brother or sister!
Do it!
25. Stu, Are you guys still selling strings direct? I emailed Lawrence about 10 days back, then the main Overwater address late last week but have not heard anything... Shep
