Sold an amp to Keith and the transaction couldn't have been easier. Good communication, quick decision, even quicker payment. Sweet !
  3. I've had a couple of trade offers for other amp, though as I'm using a powered cab, I don't have a need for another amp head. P
  4. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=94100
Do you have a link to the Sadowsky Preamp for sale thread?
5.
Thanks guys - some really good ideas and thoughts there. Might look at the outboard pre-amp idea. Are the Sadowsky ones any good?
I think they are very good units. It was OutToPlayJazz's positive comments on here, that gave me the idea to try it out. He has been using the preamp with a passive Jazz. There's one for sale here for £130 - the going rate 2nd hand and you would get that back easily enough if you decided to move it on. I once had a J Retro installed on a Lakland Daryl Jones bass, though I wouldn't go that route now, I would choose an outboard pre. Though TBH, I mostly play passive now
  6. I'd keep the jazz all original and get an outboard pre - such as a Sadowsky, which will give you some high end sizzle. Excellent kit (2 band preamp and DI) and I think there's one for sale on here just now.
  7. Well done Major - you make playing the DB look effortless
  8. I recently bought an SKB 2U Shallow rack case and it works perfectly for me. Need to check dimensions as they are more shallow than the Gator. The SKB, I think is about 10" deep internally and fitted my Glockenklang pre (7" deep) with enough space to store a power cable. Oh, and sits nicely on top of a Berg IP...
  9.
Sound Control/Reverb were also dreadful for customer service and now they've gone,
Still, at least they did provide me with a new, hand made in the USA, Spector NS5XL for £999 when they folded

  13.
Give us another clue. It can't be yourself as you'd have put it in your sig surely.
Or maybe in the 'For Sale' forum

  21.
As I was one of those that missed out, please let on who was the lucky fella?
The Old Horse? just a guess.....
  22.
Ok, so I have to own up that I'm struggling a bit to get the sound in my head out of my RH450 + RS212 / RS210 rig. It sounds really nice and 'warm' but I'm more of a modern 'hi-fi' sound kinda person and I can't seem to coax this out of the RH.
Perhaps the Staccato model would have suited you more.. I've heard lots of demos of the RH450 that I really liked, though on a brief trial I had on it in Andertons (Guilford) I fould myself immediately reaching for the eq to brighten it up a bit. Expect I would have found a setting I liked with a little more time
  23. Working ok for me: http://www.bassmerchant.com/index.php
