The heads seem good value the cabs seem very good value - makes this flightcase look a tad expensive at £460 ! http://www.dv247.com/amplifiers/tc-electro...ightcase--68975

No real experience to draw on, the only Aquilar cab that I've owned was a DB112. However, from what you said I expect that you will be happier with the GS cabs. Looks like a risk to take the DB's without a chance to try them, given that you already know and love the GS410 tone. Good luck whatever you decide..
Just going off prices I can find in mainstream stores you could get the pair for £1200, so I guess The Bass Merchant might discount that and you would be getting full manufacturers warranty and delivery... not sure for the sake of of £100-£150 I'd take a used eBay item over a shop supplied new item!
Wat just messing when i said that, hadn't actually looked at the link and though he was looking for a grand for RH450!
Oooh, I had one of these on my wish list for a loooooong time and its got my fave preamp too!! The bridge is capable of taking piezo pickups if I'm not mistaken and the coil splitting just adds to the versatility. A bass after my own heart for sure.
Think your right about the bridge, hadn't realised it before, though it does look that way. its a very impressive instrument for the money!

Had the 2 pup version of this (Ken Taylor) and it was every bit as good as a SR5 for a lot less cash.
Yes, does a very good 'Ray tone and quite a lot more. The build quality really is impressive
