1. If I wanted a custom 6 string bass in a weird shape I'm sure Fender would be the last place I'd look. Looks like a nice bass though.
2. Nice amp! I've got a Screamer combo myself, but I'm always lusting after a SE or an Invader.
3. I built this when I was 13/14, with no experience of woodwork or using power tools at all You should see the neck pocket routing.......
4. This is looking really good. Where do you get your wood from? Do you buy rough sawn stuff and plane/chop it up yourself?
5. I've seen these on Ebay before, are you sure they're Japanese? If they're really that good, I'd seriously consider getting one.
6. I love the artists page "Lennon: was a non-endorser" "Hendrix: lefty models were unavailable" "Keith: too busy snorting dads ashes " "YoYoMa: i'm a cellist, idiot!" "Angus: highway to... HELL NO!"
7. Do any of you 5 string players have problems with strings not fitting into the bridge properly? I've got a set of Slinkys on my Euro 5 right now, and I've had to squash the end of the B string flatter to actually get it to fit in the bridge properly, but it's not gone all the way in, which I think affects sustain a little bit.
8.
Do you use headphones for monitoring the mixdown?
No, I have a set of monitors, but I did use a pair of cheap headphones for monitoring whilst recording. Why do you ask? Does it sound like it's panned too much?
9. I'm using Ezdrummer with the DFH expansion and replaced the bass/snare with some other samples. The kit is all sampled, I don't have enough mics to mic up a whole kit properly. But I've noticed that I'm having the most problem with drum and bass sounds right now. If I turn the bass up more in the mix It seems to stick out alot and I just can't seem to find the right tone for this sort of music. I've tried copying other player's tones, but with little success. I did all the mixing/recording myself, and I'm primarily a bassist, but I don't really know too much about mixing/recording in the first place.
10. Hey guys, I've been getting into recording for a few months now, and I've recorded a few riffs of my own and some band stuff. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songI...;songID=7172302 http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songI...;songID=7055222 http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songI...;songID=7055215 The first one, "The Gober Method", is a little bit of song written by the singer/guitarist of the band i'm in (I play rhythm guitar). The other two are just riffs I came up with, ignoring the fact that my playing is sloppy, what do you guys think of the mix/tone? A few people have said there isn't enough bass, but I seem to be able to hear the bass just fine. Maybe it's because I'm really a bassist and all I ever do it listen out for bass lines
11. I think I've seen this bass in person, Jon was working on the electronics when I went in to pick up my guitar (was doing a fret dress on it) looks absolutely amazing.
12. They have Ovangkol/Wenge necks as opposed to Maple/Rosewood, and they are made in Germany - part of Warwicks old "Standard" series. I've seen a few 4 string ones go for £200-250, but I say hold onto it for the time being, since the market sucks.
13. Hey, Would you happen to still have this?
14.
There's one in the original post
I meant a side on pic to compare the carve, probably should have specified
15. What are the tops like on the SEs? How do they compare to the carve on the USA models? Any chance of a comparison pic?
16.
Is it me or does it seem that those of us that managed to get basses through Reverb in August got bloody great deals! The more I hear and read, the better it seems! Mike
+1 I was in Reverb in Leicester at the weekend, saw a Euro 5LX for £1599. It made me feel good inside knowing I got one for a third of that
17. "Unique Features - Tinted neck, parchment pickguard and ‘70s-style logo." Hmmm......
18. Does anybody know where you can actually get one of these? (Thomann is out of stock) and all of the internet shops in the UK seem to be out of stock too. A friend of mine is desperately looking for one.
19.
I think they slipped with the 9 key,
Must have been a really slippery keyboard to slip on both the Ebay price and the price in the listing.
20. That's one of the nicest Stingrays I've ever seen, Congrats! Now change the pickguard
21. I've heard of a few guitarists on the Ibanez forums who got their guitars PLEK'd, ~1mm action at the 24th fret with no choking on bends apparently, although this was on an Ibanez JEM which has a pretty flat board anyway. I'd like to get all my instruments fret levelled, but I don't see how I would play with action that low anyway.
22. I was in the Sheffield one about a week ago with a friend to try out some guitar gear with him, and they had a few Rebops and a Euro, definitely new stock, with the new prices. I don't think they list everything on their site. Worth a call I guess.
23. Reverb (what used to be Sound Control) still stock them.
