5.
I could never play anything like this, but then again, I would never want to. It leaves me cold. For me, the song is king, and there ain't no song here!
may not sound like your kind of sound, but im sure dale black or anthony jackson know the song is king
6. incredible bass..the detail is so good..love it..
7.
Definitely agree with that one. Busy, yet never out of the pocket.
i totally agree..he seems to fly around the chord changes and sound wonderful....but is sooo in the pocket on every note..a true master at work..IMHO
8. fantastic Latin Funk band i saw live supporting Incognito...they are fairly well known on here i believe...Groove Collective from New York...The bassist John Maron is a seriously good bassist too.. 9. +1 for three years i played through a 10w ibanez...i used to have headphones on through one ear from the amp.., while practising to Maceo Parker on my cassette player.. was a pain but i got a good sound..
10. i could play to this all day...when he ughh's... its strangley one of the best sounds in the world?? Hit it.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKb1SJ31kIc
11. great stuff...tis all about the tone you get and its right for the music...the best experience of playing a good bass for me, is when you forget its there...
12. i really dont like the bass wxxxxry term....just because someone is not playing roots and fifths...i love my in the pocket groove, and i think as a bassist its great to have both attributes...t the guy is solo with drums....this is not bass wxxxxxg....no wonder Wooten gets so much stick.. Dale prob never uses 3/4 of the trickery he has going on here....the guy is a monster groove player with lots of knowledge in a band setting ...IMHO
13.
Generic bass w***ery video 627. "this man has the groove" "this man is sh*t" "yeah it's good but what's the point" Toodles
He he....yeah ok....if you dont like this sort of thing it prob is generic...we dont all have the "japanese bass player wearing a dress" clip you know!
14. ill add this guy... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynGoVm-gY90...PL&index=33
15. ok i agree josh, excuse my arrogance..... but i cant agree the guy has no groove...each to there own i guess...passion can be a big headed monster when drunk....
16. Ok i really believe this to be the best bass playing ive ever seen...Tone, speed, technique, musical intuition......ive seen this guy play this sort of stuff,.. to in the pocket grooves with no flash and he is super sharp. willie weeks style....ive seen Gouche etc, but Dale seems to be especially good...funny how such talent goes un noticed... you need to see im go at 7.16...groove central.... 17. I played a Westfield S4 copy the other day and although it didnt hit the ray tone, i did like it..very wel put together bass
18. The more and more i play my CS 1970 Jazz, the more i realise its prob a bass i will never let go...Its just so simple and sounds sooo good... i would take it to any gig when i dont need a 5, its so adaptable....the tone is silky smooth, with a punchy growl to absolutely die for..Think the Aguilar adds to the warmth of the bass..2 pups on full and roll off the treble a little,..... there yo got tone heaven.. ...There have been many owners of this bass and i just cant understand why they let it go?? the first i believe being Marcus... i have changed things, (which some may say is bad) the first being the pups which are now Nordstrand NJSE 4's...that are awsome...and a black pick guard....although i have all the original parts and keep them very safe.... its the best Fender Jazz ive ever played in its current setup, and will prob grow old with it, will never let it go unless son or daughter starts playing ... ok the jazz hasnt got the low down punch of the P or ray but its got the best all round tone surely do you have bass that is a definite keeper....your Pics please!!! here is the wonderful instrument..
19. Stingray 5 every time...although i would love to try a Streamer... Pro's.. for the S5 Awsome tone, very punchy, very powerful, with a lovely growl from that humbuk the best B string ive ever heard/played...No floppy here, just very nice consistent feel and tone, like the other strings, think Lakland 55 Very nice neck, i found it very narrow, very much like my Sei.. i especially liked the smooth un-glossed touch Amazing build Q...just as good as my Sadowsky, if not better IMO Mine was really light Looks wise they are great imo, mine had the blue matching headstock that i love... Cons... Although i love the tone, i did find it a little limited, others may disagree... (then again its a Stingray and its a unique sound) but what a sound its got..i havent played the HH?? I had to let mine go!!!! i agree with XB with the string spacing of the S5, quite narrow..
20. if this is still here end of month i will take it from you SW
21. Without a doubt i would get a Yamaha TRB6....Awsome pro sounding bass with amazing build quality...i wish i hadnt got rid of mine and would love another.... You can also get them very cheap, way less than £1500
22. Ive been gasing for a P bass lately, big time...pref in sunburst with rosewood...i know very little about them, so a couple of Q's... As ive heard that the P bass pick config can be limited (or am i wrong) Do they make a Pbass with an added Jazz pickup? what are they like. What am i looking at price wise for a used year 2000+ Precision...are the latest models the best? USA or CIJ/MIJ...??? Any advise?
23. Wow this is really nice!!!
24.
I have recently got hold of a really nice lens for low light photography, so I thought what better way to try it than on some bass in a chair pics? Here is one I just snapped... the lens is manual focus so it took a few tries to get it right because despite my magnifying eyepiece it is harder to focus in low light! ped Shame the bass isn't straight in the chair, the legs of the chair aren't rotated to be square with the wall and the skirting board isn't straight along the bottom of the pic... and the bass shadows could be removed too. I'll get there one day..
Ped i often want to do this as..like you i have nothing better to do..he he..lovely Vigier...i often have wondered waht these sound like?? here's my Sei for a change..with 3 more..my old Fender, Yamaha, shouldnt have let these basses go...and the love of my life cat..
