1.
Yep, I've still got the Gibson. I actually have a Les Paul Double Cutwaway which I bought from the US. Root beer finish and gold hardware. Plus points with this one are the well balanced feel of the bass (It's not a neck diver), smaller body shape and the very boomy tone (especially from the E string). This thing rocks. The other thing is that it is a lovely looking bass (IMHO). For me the only down side is that it does feel limited with tone, hence I very rarely use it for gigs as I always use the Lakland Jazz and the Fender Precision. Then I ask myself as to why I keep it....but it's just too lovely to move on (At the moment). Cheers, J
Floyd do you have a newer model with the pickup selector, whats the weight like, how much room is in the electronics compartment, enough for a pre amp? ahh ive just noticed its not an LP standardyou have...im guessing its the LP Money?
2. Just spotted these Gibson LP Standards at Thomann.... 2 with Ceramic humbuckrs and one with Barts (this one doesnt seem to have the pick up switch)... http://www.thomann.de/gb/cat_PG_3.html?gf=...sses&oa=prd after a little research i found out the one without the switch is the earlier 90's model, with barts and a bart pre..they are also alot heavier..the later ones had a pickup selector and chambered bodies for lightness and passive elctronics...I wonder if the later ones would have enough room for an Aguilar OBP1 and the batt's???
3. bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb....ump
4. Does any one have any experiences with these two basses..Apart from the price, what are the differences...What can the tone be compared to...Do they still make the Gibson Les Paul? Any thoughts? thanks
5. Im sure anyone who owns one on here likes it!! :snob:
6. Very nice Rich...Do you mind if i ask where you got it from, did you import it...if so where from? im pretty sure they have no UK dealer...
7. I would swap an Ibanez for a Pedulla in a heart beat!!!!!!
8. Only my opinion but i think the shape is hideous and the color isnt much better...
9.
Don't think thats a Moon Bass, I think it's a Pensa Suhr. It's certainly not the Moon logo on the headstock and the angle traditionally installed for the neck pickup on a Moon would make it very difficult to install a front pickup cover as seen in the clip. Also the headstock shape smacks of a Pensa Suhr to me, now just made by John Suhr. Nice basses.
Of course it is...i should have spotted the pointy headstock..dohh
10. OMG!!!! thats the best fretless jazz ive ever seen...Just WOW.. Why dont Modulus make a jazz 5??

13.
Okay so I have only just re picked up my bass after a while. I never really took the instrument seriously, only learning the tabs to a few songs etcetera. Now I'm back playing it and I learnt a few muse songs to get my head around playing the instrument again but I'm kinda lost. What do you guys suggest I should do or where to go from now? Any routines that I should fall into or any genres I should look into or even any books that I should buy? Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
Maybe have a look at theory? Get lessons? What genres do you like to play? Getting into a band is great..you cant beat playing with other musicians... think of the different aspect of playing bass, write them down and work through them...IMO
14. No but i have heard great things...doesnt Adam Nitti play one... i always thought they looked like something King Arthur would play... i alwyas find Harmony Central good for reviews ETC.. 16.
I do get that honestly............. I really do not know what all this fuss is about.. I simply said that I believed Victor Wooten was an overated Bassist.. Was not concerned with whever he could play with a pick or dig in with the groove... I was saying that when he plays in the role of a Bassist in a band he is nothing special... And he isn't I'm now going to enjoy my friday night and stop defending something that is just an opinion.. Oh btw I also think Strawberry ice cream is nicer than chocolate.... In my opinion
i understand where your coming from..its your opinion and your entitled to it for sure...I personally think Flea is a little overated but that just mine.. enjoy your fri evening
17. No that hes not all technique and slap...See above post for Q...
