[/quote] i agree with you on this... a little bored of there covers... yep.. fantastic playing, yep.. amazing arrangements.. this seemed rushed... and a bit dull... they have the talent to do soooo much more... lets hope they deliver some original material... just goes to show... technical ability doesnt mean too much, if the music isnt there..

ive played many a Fender.. Squires, MIM's, Custom Shops, USA's, MIJ/CIJ's... although i recognise Squires are great basses.. there IS a reason why the more expensive Fender are higher in price... of course this is down to personal opinion...and whether you want to pay the premium and think its worth it... i personally do... imo... a non export USA pup Japanese Fender Jazz can beat ANY Fender..even Custom Shop.... they do naturally what Custom Shop do, and what USA standards should be like... mmm.. there is a reason why USA Fender restrict the best of Japanese Fender... because there better and cheaper.. imo Put some USA pups or some Fralins in a Squire and then you have a smokin Jazz bass

Anybody got any tips on ageing a poly finish... i mean making a poly finish darker a more of a yellow.. someone told me ultraviolet light can work....? any ideas..?

OMG... that is very nice.. i had to redo my post... GW how do you find the position of the pups when playing fingerstyle over them... from a thumb to finger position, they seem quite far back...

[/quote]Paul im not one for a glossy neck either.. over the months ive used very fine wire wool to take the gloss to a great smooth matt gloss....its so nice to play... , i really dont think a pre would add that much more to its character.... if any, i would add a Aguilar OB3 on board, for some huge power, but there are no holes going into this bass... by the way those Blades are killer instruments

that you love so much... for me its that classic 70's spacing jazz growl and punch from my MIJ 75 jazz... the amazing neck.. the simplicity of the 2 volumes and the tone.. it does what it does, and more, so well... im sure this sort of tone was the inspiration, for the first person to build a super jazz.... what makes your bass very cool to you....?
