1.
4000 euros for a P bass.......i think thats a good definition of insanity
Totally agree!! But Thomann, for us in UK, are waaay overpriced on most things!
2.
Erm..I've got a Status, but I've found its better without the active on.My amp seems to prefer the passive input.
Funnily enough, I rather prefer my T-Bass passive. HAve found, though, that I've gone back to the passive sound over the years, probably attributed to becoming a Jazz bass aficionado in the early '90s.
3. I would not attempt this yourself unless you have some experience of refinishing and/or shooting urethane or epoxy. You'll end up ruining the 'board (as I did as a young man, trying to 'Jaco-up' a P-bass) and you'll be back to square one. This process takes time and involves working up through grades of fine grit papre and pads. If you want to try it, get hold of a junker neck and get on Google. Failing that, give the neck to a luthier who is proficient in this line of work.
4. Ok. Interested.
5.
Just wondering, is it possible to get the stacked vol/tone vol/tone electronics that (as far as I know) the '62 jazz basses had, without buying a '62? I'd love to try an get a hold of 'em to fit them into the VMJ I'll be buying soon. I'm assuming it would fit onto the VMJ, I wouldn't have to rout out the control cavity at all will I? If so, could anyone point me in the right direction? thanks! provided I can buy it separately, an it doesn't cost too much, I think it'll make my first jazz bass experience most enjoyable!
Yes, you can get them. They do pop up from time to time or you could rattle your own up. Get the pot measurements and then measure the depth of the control cavity on the bass; you really don't want to do any routing if you have to. It's a great circuit, although some people prefer the 2+1 standard set-up cos it doesn't load the pickups so much as the stacks do.
6. Are the fender parts USA, Jap or Mexi?
7. Nice bass and well worth it!
8. Seen sense and decided to keep it but the black CIJ Jazz with the bound neck is still for sale.
9. Ok, da 'bay it is tonight.
10. Any serious interest before this goes on evilbay??
11. Any Sunday love for this T-Bass??
12.
You missed the Jap '65 reissue which I have... It's the best bass
And mine.......
13.
...and that Mark King LED is hideous.
+ 1 to that! A 'Kinglay', like the hideous 'Stinglay'. I really disapprove of that.
14. Pix now up there. Any others needed, please ask.
15.
i'm listening... please let me know, may take a juggle of funds, but may be able to be first in the queue...
Ok, Andy, I'll give you first pop. No pressure, at all. Pix tomorrow.
16. Well, something's come up again. May need to shift a few and one of them will be my white T-bass. White, tort 'plate.Clean body bar two small dents on each horn and a couple of little rough edges on the headstock, whcih is to expected with that finish. No case so would prefer local pick-up or meet. Seeking £570. Dunno the going rate for these but that seems fair, I think. Pix attached.

19.
Just wondering what everyone thought of pink basses...i have the chance to bag a stunning shell pink custom shop jazz with gold hardwear..its a 62, with the most amazing flame maple neck.....Hope Nic doesnt mind me talking about his bass!!! Any thoughts... its exactly the same as this but with gold hardwear
Big style! If you don't want it, I'll have it! How much coin?
20. I'd hazard a guess and say a Russki model, made by Tonika.
21.
Vintage and rare wanted a grand! The other version with EQ faders is more problematic, so i'm led to believe.
Yeh. Mate of mine has one. I had a play with it and the one of the LF faders was intermittent. probably just a dry or broken joint on a flimsy curuit borad, cos that's what it felt like. Anyway, last one I saw went for £800. And the Jimmy Moon one looks well used (don't the all, at that age?), but I can't mind if it had the graphic.
22. Given what you'd pay for a Fender CS Relic these are more affordable. Bear in mind there are three levels of relicing on Nash instruments. I, for one, love the ex-Cairobill/Clarky Jazz that fell into my hands and owning that promted me to track down more. Which I did, at Bass Direct and Clarky pipped me to it! Nash rules, in my books.
23. They all go to Music-Outlet-Shop in Germany, as some above have correctly surmised. A lot of Frankenbasses turn up there; I dunno how the guy has the nerve to sell them!
24.
this instruments are great, I do have the same bass as the one I posted before, but in natural...I wish I could buy more of this instruments. There is one non export jazz in classifieds right now with matching black headstock. Pure hell for me, but my girlfriend is going to kill me if i buy new bass instead furtniture for our flat
Buy mine; it's made out of wood, same as furniture. She can't complain at that! PS: furniture can wait but, as we all know, geetars don't.
25. For some reason, Ishi have curtailed the amount of s/h kit they export. Speaking of pup configs. how about this ESP from the Ishi site?
