  1. Unfortunately, the Rockinbetter's had no official tie with Tokai, other than they were brought in to the UK by the UK distributors of Tokai, called 'Tokai UK'. They're good, in as much as they are through neck, and the necks are very similar to the Ric's they're modelled on. The downside is that the bodies are slightly larger and wider. Still great basses though. Another to look out for is the Bass Collection Californian, which is basically the same bass with a different TRC. The FB Rickenfaker group is a good place to go for info, though mainly based on recent Chinese fakers, or 70's MIJ fakers.
  2. Brown Eyed Girl - Some Miserable Supermarket Van Driver
  3. If it's collection only, you might want to let everyone know a rough location. Gorgeous bass BTW.
  4. Got to say that the G&L L2000 Tribute had a particularly chunky neck. As did the EBMM StingRay.
  5. Oops Upside Your Head - The Gap Band
  6. Ego The Living Planet - Monster Magnet
  7. She's Calling You - Bad Brains
  8. Midnight Mountain - Cathedral
  9. Big fan, been using Multi FX's for a while, but mainly for the amp/cab modelling, as well as the effects. I like them, they give me the sounds that I want, without spending a fortune on individual pedals (been there, done that).
  10. POD Go 1.30 Firmware update available
  11. Ding Dang A Dong - Teach In (Eurovision Song Contest Winner 1975)
  12. Snowblind - Black Sabbath
  13. Whatever's to hand. Cheap & cheerful, but played with attitude.
  14. Not really having a reference point here, I'm afraid I can't really help in that respect. It had to be moved on when I couldn't coax a usable sound out of it. It sounded great on it's own, but in the rehearsal room, it just seemed "indistinct" to me. There again, I do realise that I much prefer single coil pickups.
  15. Gabba Gabba Hey - The Other Four Mop Tops from New York
  16. Hey Bulldog - That Lot Again
  17. Had one a wee while back. From what I recall, the body was slightly oversized, compared to an Epiphone / Gibson, and it has a 44mm nut (opposed to 38mm on the Epiphone / Gibson models). The oversized body meant that it won't fit into a shaped T'bird case, but does fit into a gig bag. Other than that, it's a solid bass. Prone to the usual T'bird complaints of course. I didn't find it head heavy, but you have to have long arms (especially if you want to play it sat down!). If you play with it on a strap, then you need to have the body resting on the hip rather than having the body resting across you (as you would with an FSO for example).
  18. Do Wah Diddy Diddy - Manfred Mann
  19. Ship of Fools - Lucky Leif and the Longships
  20. Mama Weer All Crazee Now - Slade
  21. After Forever - Black Sabbath
  22. Les Cigares Volants - Voivod
  23. Live and Let Die - Wings
  24. At least it's not being used as reinforcing bars, there's a concrete shortage as well.
  25. Which ones have -30dB filters? All the ones I've seen are between 15 & 20dB, which is one reason why I've never gone down the custom route.
