  1. Can't believe this is still here. Too far for me though.
  2. This is something I noticed when I played guitar more than bass. Before starting to play guitar more seriously, I'd predominantly used Stainless Roto's on bass (they were generally the cheapest back in the day, as well as using a plectrum). When I played guitar, it was with nickel wound strings, and obviously a pick, never had an issue. Moved back to mainly playing bass with my fingers instead of a plec, and started using nickel wound strings, and really noticed that the skin on my right fingers went really sensitive, and the skin would go white. I'd read in a few places about metal allergy when playing, so bought some stainless strings to try. Problem solved. I think it's probably more to do with the fact that bass strings are thicker (and having more windings), and are all wound, where a guitar, only 3 strings are wound. But that's not scientific, that's just me.
  3. Black Sun - Loop
  4. And there was me thinking it was going to be a thread about fish-tail parka's and scooters... It does sound like a case of tinkering because you can, rather than tinkering because you need to. It also sounds like a case of "creating content".
  5. Looks good, but why are you throwing it out?
  6. Wand'rin' Star - Lee Marvin
  7. Burial At Sea - Saint Vitus
  8. Had an '82, it was ace.
  9. Big Balls - AC/DC
  10. Stinkfist - Tool
  11. Smoke on the Water - Deep Purple (natch)
  12. But again, do you think that this is down to the genre and it's fans, who I'd guess are probably more into owning music on physical media?
  13. These look decent: Guitar Build
  14. Sit Down - James
  15. Wind of Change - The Scorpions
  16. Aint that the truth. Found that in my previous band, the only thing that actually made any money were the T-shirts. Music seems to be more of a commodity these days...
  17. The Mono M80 "Betty" strap. Comfy, long, and not too expensive.
  18. There's the Tech 21 VTDI Deluxe in the For Sale section, six channels of VT DI. I'd add the Line6 POD Go, even though it doesn't have an XLR Out, and it's a bit over the quoted £300 budget, but second hand can come towards the budget. There's the new Zoom B2, and the B3n.
  19. And it's exactly that we're looking at. We've had quite a few people come up after a gig and ask about merchandise, so it's about time we actually got some sorted. I really don't think a small, regional, rock originals band would sell many copies, so we're really just looking at small runs initially. If they sell well, we can get some more done as and when. Also definitely looking at getting t-shirts printed up as well, though we have different ideas as to what the design should be. Thanks all for the suggestions. 👍
  20. No More Tears - Ozzy Ozbourne
  21. I'm sure that here in BassChat-land, there are quite a few people with a fair bit of knowledge on this one. The band I'm in have recently finally finished getting our album sorted (inc. mastering & ISRC codes), we have two singles up on Spotify & Apple, and the album will be released on these platforms at the end of the month so I'm told. We want to get some CD's made up to sell at gigs and stuff, as well as looking at other merchandise. Does any of the BC Collective have any recommendations for UK based CD & Sleeve Duplication companies that are good and reasonable for smaller runs? I'm assuming that we're looking at a small run of numbers, maybe 100-200, colour sleeve maybe booklet etc. Any recommendations? Cheers. 👍
  22. Doctor Beat - Gloria Estefan & the Miami Sound Machine
  23. Future Shock - Gillan
  24. Clockwork Angels - Rush
  25. Kip-Win-backer? Kip-enbacker? Wingenbacker?
