Still loving the 4003, Great playing and sounding bass, did have to set it up a bit & drop the action, but it wasn't that far off. Bizarrely, finding the back of the neck a tad "sticky", heard a lot said about it on the other US based bass forum, but never experienced it before. Thankfully, guitar polish, buffing and playing it has helped. The case is more knackered than I though. The inside really smelled bad, Febreze spray worked for a bit, but it's starting to smell again. Noticed even more damaged bits recently, so a new case is on the Christmas list. Love it, but still loving my custom Faker too.

Recently got another 4003 with the full width inlays. Superb.

Had an early 2000's MIM Jazz that was very good indeed. Separate scratchplate & control plate though.

Remember being dragged to see "We Will Rock You", and being pleasantly surprised that Mr Murray was playing bass for that show. Always understated, always played to the song. Top player. Never could stand Whitesnake though!

Always thought that the Aria SB bridge was a great design.

An Epiphone version of the Ripper would be great (though an original would be even greater!). Some free cash to buy stuff would be a good start though.

Easy Like Sunday Morning - The Commodores / Faith No More

There's nothing worse than seeing a "critically acclaimed" singer / songwriter / band, where the music plays second fiddle to the vocal performance. One of the worst offenders of this though was the "Shred" era, where the "song" was "written" around a fiddly, widdly, noodle-fest of a solo, usually following a scale.

Maybe look for 115 or 120 bottom strings, but you will need to have the existing nut looked at for them (maybe take the chance to get the bass set up in a shop?). Or get the DR DDT's.

I'll stick with the original version that I've had for years thanks.
