  1. That's a seriously nice looking bass.
  2. From our gig last week...
  3. Do you think there should be a Vegan option?
  4. ^This. Have you been asked to join them? Or is it your secret new project?
  5. Must admit I've only ever played a long scale, so shorty's don't really appeal, medium's could work, but I think I'd need to try one first, but long scale is my preference (as are single coils). More research required I think!
  6. Don't ask me why, but I've been hankering after a Semi for some time, but which one? I really like the look of the Warwick Star Bass, classic looks but still relatively modern, single coils, passive, ticks a lot of boxes. Unfortunately, not cheap. The Chowny CHB2 is another contender, long scale, but comes with humbuckers. The Italia Rimini... Love the look of the Rimini, unfortunately don't seem to come up very often. There's a Gear4Music semi that's el cheapo, looks like the Star, anyone got any experience of that? What else is out there that's worth looking at?
  7. Alternatively, you could try getting something like a Zoom B3 or the newer B3n with a USB interface. Plug & play.
  8. Nike hi tops & Black skinny jeans were essential.
  9. Enjoyed Lewis Capaldi, first time I've actually listened to him. Far better than Mr Sheeran. Ronnie & Imelda... thank goodness for fast forward. Foals - first track (Black Stallion?) was good, the other tracks were lacklustre IMO. Nilufer Yanya was good. Sudan Archives... interesting, but a bit unimpressed with the sequencer.
  10. Was it a benefit gig for Fishlake?
  11. What's the bet, that there will be other people, around your age, that may well feel the need to join or start a band in your area as well. Local Music groups on Facebook, Gumtree (yes, people still use it!), Ad's in music shops, talking to folk on the local Jam / Open Mic Night scene. There may well be a few false starts along the way, but if it gets you out playing again, great.
  12. Never heard of Music Area, but Thomann's own stuff is decent quality and reasonably priced IMO.
  13. I'd agree, but add that the PA would need to provide good monitoring so you can hear not only yourself, but everyone else as well (and more importantly, they can hear you!). Some smaller venues PA systems are less than adequate for this unfortunately, so having your own amp is a must (IME). Keep an eye on the local Gumtree, as well as the local Music Buy/Swap/Sell groups on FB (as you're a student, both at home and where you're staying during term time - assuming you live away of course!). Even watch the For Sale section on here. There are plenty of half decent rigs available for not much money (Ashdown/Hartke/Laney/etc.), so a bit of shopping around can dig up some bargains.
  14. And the Handbox on top of an Acoustic cab. Most definitely a thunderous day.
  15. Just being pedantic here, but that's not a Mudbucker (Motherbucker?), but a Fender "Wide Range" (IIRC). The Tele bass does look cool though, especially the twin pickup version.
  16. There's always asking your bass-playing pals if they know anyone.
  17. Maybe try and get in touch with the producer, and see if he has a contact at Fender so you can get another neck just like the one on your bass. It's a long shot, and it could turn out to be expensive, but it might be worth a try, especially if it enables you to continue playing your favourite bass.
  18. Hot Rox in Nottingham Matamp in Yorkshire Laney?
  19. Some sort of take on a 4001/4003/4004. When I win the lottery...
