  1. Being obsessed with Quiet Sun, I do have to ask myself why I don't own this album.
  2. I think I may have priced this a bit high, but I can't change it. Offers and trades considered!
  3. I'll admit, I did think the Coda was an April Fool's gag when it was first announced, mainly due to the apparently awful photoshop on the headstock - turns out that is actually the design! It has grown on me over the years though. Spectors can be trusted.
  4. It is. They seem to take massive umbrage at anybody daring to alter their instruments in any way, even removing the pickup cover. It's almost as if they deliberately fit the pickup askew to punish those that do
  5. This seems to be normal for Ricks I'm afraid. All of mine have had crooked pickups to varying degrees. Rickenbacker's standard response is that the pickup is supposed to be hidden under the cover, so it doesn't matter.
  6. It's a Precision. I suspect flats. All the early Kansas albums are. I don't think Dave Hope ever played a Rick, but he did switch to Steinbergers later on.
  7. First album was all Precision! Geddy bought his first Rickenbacker with the record company advance straight after.
  8. Beautiful. Now peel off that sticker! 🤣
  9. CIJ Fender '51 Precision Bass, excellent condition. Some minor dings to the upper rear body edge (see pics). Some light scratches on the scratchplate. There is a small area of wear to the varnish on the lower side of the neck by the 6th fret. It's not noticeable when playing, there's no depression or dent to the wood (it looks worse than it is). Apart from this wear the neck is extremely clean. edit: Having checked this again for a possible buyer, I suspect this discolouration might be the pattern of the wood itself rather than wear. The bridge cover has been refitted since I took the photos. According to the traditional 'with and without' scales method, it weighs 9.5 approx. It's certainly no boat anchor . I'm trying to source a case so postage could be considered. Viewings welcome in Dartford or can meet somewhere. Trades considered. SOLD
  10. Wilkinson elephant ear tuners taken from a new Epiphone Thunderbird. As-new condition. https://www.jhs.co.uk/brands/wilkinson/wilkinson-machineheads/wilkinson-elephant-ear-bass-machineheads-chrome-3-1 They're 4 inline though, not 3 + 1 £25 posted.
  11. That was always Entwistle's problem. Too content to just stick to the root notes and thump away.
  12. We've all been there... A late vote for my friend Simon at SMB guitars: http://www.smbguitars.com/ The website isn't that great, but he has made quite a few basses, some 'standard', some a bit more eccentric. I've been disucssing a potential custom build with him for a while now. If you're on Facebook, there are lots more pictures on there.
  13. Love them! Especially the Charvel. I used to have one like it, long after they were 'cool'. I didn't give a damn! Let me know if you ever want to sell it...
  14. I've always considered factory setups to be comparable to military intelligence.
  15. I wouldn't describe either of those as scrappy... of course they could be when the music demanded it, but it didn't seem to be their inherent style. He co-wrote the songs they play from Fragile, but he was never credited at the time as he was still contracted to A&M as a solo artist. It would seem that still stands!
  16. The canned applause is distracting, and frankly bizarre, but the performances and the sheer joy is something to behold. Pomeroy is amazing.
  17. I saw that on eBay the other day! I'm still fascinated by this bass.
