  1. I'd stick with the white one! Like John Deacon's.
  2. I like headless when the bass is also 'bodyless' - like Steinbergers. When attached to a body as in the examples above, a headless neck just looks incomplete IMHO. Not horrible or wrong, just not quite all there.
  3. All good so far! It's my first experience with a dedicated power amp, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I'm happy with the sounds I'm getting so far. I've only used it a low volumes, but even then it seems to get warm quickly. No fan, you see. I've read similar comments over on Talkbass but it doesn't seem to have let anyone down through overheating at gig volumes so I'm not too concerned.
  4. R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A. by John Mellencamp has an ocarina solo! But it does seem to be in direct tribute to Wild Thing.
  5. The Lemon Twigs, on record, are just the two brothers. They write and play it all themselves, which does support the 'weird and precocious' theory somewhat! But I do love the music. I get a lot of 10cc vibes as well, particularly on the early material.
  6. That'll do I'm already familiar with the band, but it their 'Later...' appearance was my first expererience of them, I might have been a bit put off. They've certainly upped the theatricality somewhat. The older stuff was more like a prog Beach Boys.
  7. I like The Lemon Twigs. I wouldn't consider them Indie at all!
  8. Wow. Always wanted to try one of these. Never been lucky enough to see one though!
  9. These are amazing. How is this still here?!
  10. I think he still is... I haven't heard anything to suggest otherwise! I was lucky enough to see KC at the Hackney Empire a few years back - the sheer force of three drummers along the front of the stage was quite something.
  11. Please stop showing me this picture. It's making my life very difficult. 😂
  12. Perhaps 'pointless' was a bit harsh. It's certainly good to hear the basses. I just wish we could hear a bit more, maybe from other players in some different style. The old 'tone is in the fingers' wheeze is certainly true of Marcus!
  13. I see! Post some pics on here, we'd love to see them! and as I'm sure you are aware... I've considered buying an Embassy for myself. I already have the Vintage Pro Thunderbird, and it is excellent. It's a bit petty but I'm not sure about the redesigned Embassy headstock, it looks a bit ordinary in comparision with the original.
  14. Looks like a big blue circle with a 'G' in the middle...
  15. I wouldn't say they were particularly 'bad' reviews, just a bit pointless. All they really show is that the bass works, and can be slapped.
  16. Mr Wishbone bought some quality Wilkinson tuners I had up for sale. No problems whatsoever, a pleasure to deal with!
  17. I saw a Genesis tribute band a couple of times a few years ago, but I can't remember which one! They were very good though. The singer looked a bit like Keith Moon/Anthony Newley and the keyboard player was the spit of Peter Griffin.
  18. A green Euro?! Heaven!
  19. I'm a bit of a Spector obsessive, as @Bassulike66 and @cetera know! I don't have any at the moment but have owned 16 over the years. Like Rickenbackers, they are an itch I sometimes just have to scratch, so I'm sure I'll own another one soon! My favourites have been the NS2000 model. I actually prefer them over the Euro. Seller's remorse, right there.
