  1. These threads are fun for seeing everyone’s differing opinions. Granted, it probably isn’t the worst cover version I’ve ever heard, but I just can’t listen to it. As soon as the vocal starts, it’s game over for me! 😀
  2. Sorry Lemmy, but this is utter shite
  3. Nice EBS Sheehan signature pedal i see lurking on the board!
  4. I’ve got the same one, but the chrome version. Very early model with 2 separate hi/lo inputs
  5. Would be happy to discuss a trade for an ABM600 Evo 4
  6. Very very classy looking rig!
  7. Awesome! I think there will be a lot of folks on the Ashdown threads very keen to hear your thoughts!
  8. I’m curious to know what you’re replacing it with!
  9. I usually leave the pickup pan pot centred or biased slightly to the neck pickup, bit of mid boost, and through my Ashdown Hyperdrive pedal. Sounds great. Also come to realise that one of my favourite bass tones ever, is exactly that, a jazz bass through a drive pedal. The bass tone on Nancy Boy by Placebo
  10. I’ve recently discovered I love the sound of a driven Jazz bass, so much so that my last 4 gigs have seen my Sire V7 get some game time whilst my Yamaha Attitude Ltd and Warwick SS1 have stayed at home!
  11. I’d have to include Bobby Vega, fantastic player
  12. Man, how good is Nate Navarro!
  13. Was a little surprised that he finished the set by doing Everlong on his own. I know DG and Hawkins seemed to have the biggest bond of all the FF members, but I thought playing My Hero with Shane on drums would’ve been the perfect finish.
  14. Geddy had a really nice tone. I’m really digging the tone of a jazz bass with some added drive lately
  15. The level of some of those drummers was just fantastic!
  16. Omar Hakim is a fantastic drummer
  17. Love that Mesa rig right in front of the drum riser. Looks so cool
  18. I think I must’ve got lucky, I bought my Bongo from a shop in the Netherlands. I ordered it on a Tuesday afternoon, it was at my front door on Thursday morning and all I paid was the price of the bass and £25 shipping.
  19. Been having second thoughts all week!
  20. There’s a very tidy looking Vintage Tony Butler on FB marketplace for £200, it’s in Dawlish.
  21. I’ve had generally good experiences with them. Traded my Bongo for a Dingwall through them, went up on the day to do the trade, young guy was pretty friendly. Plugged me in, and let me get on with it, said he’d be in office if I had any questions or needed anything. Any online purchases have been smooth enough too. However, a friend of mine went there a few years back with the intention of spending a fair amount of money. Managed to get into a heated discussion with Mark, who basically told him that he didn’t know what he was talking about. My friend is a pro session player of approx 30yrs experience, who is NEVER short of work, so I’m guessing that he does actually know what he’s talking about. I have no idea what went on in that shop that day, but I do remember my, normally very placid, friend calling me on the way home and saying “I’d strangle that pillock before I ever give him a penny of my money”! Seems that we all have vastly different experiences of BD
  22. My Yamaha Attitude Ltd 2. The scratchplate is just wrapped in black vinyl as I wanted to see what it looked like before ordering a custom plate. It’s had a DiMarzio Relentless pickup installed since that pic was taken
  23. Double post
  24. I love an active jazz bass. Been using my Sire V7 quite a bit lately. I’m a sucker for a maple necked Fender, if I wasn’t in the process of sorting a new amp out, I’d be all over this
