  1. The 4 string Bongo in the stealth finish was averaging at around £1850 at most retailers. I trawled the internet for days. Even to the point of speaking with Beaver Felton in the US about the possibility of giving him a holding deposit so that a friend could collect it for me while on holiday the following month. Then I came across an ad for a shop in the Netherlands who had some Bongos on their website, but not a Stealth. I emailed and asked by any chance did they have a Stealth 4 string in stock, and got a swift reply saying they only had one and it was a 4HS. I asked the price, including shipping, taxes etc and it was £1250 for the bass plus shipping. He got me a fixed quote and it came in at around £1285 all in. I ordered it on the Tuesday and and it was on my doorstep by Thursday morning
  2. No doubt! Looking at prices now, it’s staggering that I paid about £1250 for my 4HS Stealth brand new!
  3. I always thought the orange and tangerine Bongo would’ve looked great with black hardware
  4. I’ve got a rehearsal Wednesday and a gig Friday so I’ll report back 👍
  5. I haven’t tried it yet, I only got it on friday. I read a lot of reviews that spoke highly of it though. The CS6 should run it easily enough, it only draws 60mA while in use. It draws 320mA while charging, but the transmitter should last a gig without needing charge
  6. Got the Boss WL-50 on the board now. Only temporarily as I’m changing it all onto a Nano+ on Monday, so I can mount a CS6 power supply underneath
  7. What an epic story! So pleased for you @AndyTravis! Seems crazy to think that I paid £1250 for my 4HS Stealth brand new! They were quite vilified back then, due to the looks. Glad more people have realised what a beast of a bass they are. I certainly wish I still had mine
  8. Like a starter set compared to some of the epic boards here, but just swapped out the Lomenzo Hyperdrive for the Microtubes X Ultra. It’s a bit spaced out at the moment because there’s a Boss WL-50 to go on it too
  9. Just bought a Darkglass pedal from Ian. Really smooth transaction. Great communication throughout. Pedal arrived less than 48hrs after he posted it, and superbly packed. Very highly recommended
  10. Seems like some of EMG’s pickups are out in the desert with Mr Trujillo and Mr Claypool!
  11. That wouldn’t be much of an issue for me, but for a working bassist doing gigs around London, very often public transport is the most efficient way to travel. So for someone in that situation, that would mean carting a second bass around on the tube with them. I know it’s all ifs and buts, and I haven’t broken a string for years, but it’s still a possibility. If I was one of those players, that would certainly play a huge part in me deciding against fitting this particular bridge, but I wish you luck in your ventures!
  12. Looking at how the strings are anchored, and the Evo cam, am I right in thinking that if I break the A string on a 5er mid gig, to change it I have to remove either the B and E string or the G and D string to get the A string off?
  13. Agreed. I do love watching his demos
  14. I’m on a Yamaha Attitude Fb group, and Erik Arko posted there recently that Thomann had a fresh stock of DiMarzio Relentless pickups in stock. People must’ve been eagerly waiting this news, as within no time they were sold out again!
  15. Agreed. I put my mk1 ABM500 Evo Rc on here a couple of years back for £125 including a gator 4u rack case, and never got any interest in it. They’re cheap as chips if you hunt around
  16. I ditched the Behringer and just put a Ashdown Lomenzo hyperdrive in front of the amp. Sounded great!
  17. Just stumbled across this old pic. I used to use this for pub gigs, humping that 810 in and out the back of my Vectra hatchback. I gave that cab away to someone on here, Bartleby I think it was. The awful Behringer unit is long gone, but I still have the ABM, it lives at our rehearsal space for times when I can’t be bothered to take my EBS TD650 to rehearsal.
  18. There’s one on FB marketplace for £390
  19. So, did any of you guys actually get a Photon yet??
  20. Looks like the admins have got a lot of banning to do on that group then!
