  1. There are some super talented kids around for sure, some of the YouTube vids are mind blowing. Must admit though, some of the super fast, honky bridge pickup noodling leaves me a bit cold, a bit like watching those ‘Got bass chops?’ videos. Not meaning to take anything away from the players, they’re far more talented than me, it just all sounds a bit the same to my, admittedly cloth, ears.
  2. I remember seeing this for the first time and thinking wtf?! She was 13 at the time
  3. I’m not entirely sure about their used value right now. If it’s a Stealth model, they are quite hard to get hold of, so I imagine would be worth a bit more than a more standard colour. That’s only a guess though tbh
  4. Wish I’d kept mine, wish I’d kept the Stingray too tbh 🤦🏻‍♂️
  5. The electronics in them are very hot. Small adjustments can make big changes. Very versatile basses though. Enjoy!
  6. Do any of you use the WL20 with a pedalboard? Also, does anyone use one with a Dingwall bass, the Jack socket on my NG2 is fairly deep in the body so not sure if it would fit
  7. Can you be a bit more specific?! 😃
  8. He was fantastic when he appeared at the London Bass Guitar Show. A really funny and friendly guy, with an impeccable groove. Wandered around the trade area after, chatting to everyone. So sad about his dementia
  9. Congrats! They really are awesome basses. I had a stealth 4HS, but gas caught me unawares and I traded it 🙄
  10. I’d be greedy and want two signature basses, and both very different. I’d like a Dingwall Z3X in white, black hardware, maple neck, and I’d like it headless and 4 string. I’d also want a Warwick Streamer Stage 1, in all black, black hardware, black tuners rather than the wooden type, and a hipshot extender. Fitted with passive Nordstrand power blade pickups and a John East Uni preamp.
  11. Not exactly discreet are they!!
  12. You can be the first to demo it!
  13. I did find it a bit strange that I couldn’t find any footage of one actually in use
  14. https://ashdownmusic.com/products/geezer-butler-pedal-of-doom?utm_content=Facebook_UA&utm_source=facebook&variant=40631913873576 just saw this pop up on my FB news feed
  15. Agree! They were fantastic live, such a fun band. Benji Webbe is a great frontman
  16. I would gobsmacked if this hasn’t sold by now. I’ve never seen a HD350 anywhere as cheap as this. If I didn’t already have 2 amps I’d be snapping this up to look nice alongside my TD650
  17. Christ that’s a bargain!!
  18. I’ve been looking at a lot of pickups and preamps lately, as an upgrade for my Warwick. The two I keep coming back to are the Nordstrand blade pickups and ten John East Uni pre. Obviously completely different bass you’re looking to upgrade, but just suggesting stuff worth checking out. On a side note, I’m loving the look of those Ibanez EHB’s
  19. Saw Skindred in Bristol on Friday night and Daniel Pugsley was using a multi scale 5er. Very cool looking bass!
  20. Saw Skindred in Bristol on Friday night, what a fantastic gig! Band sounded great and Benji Webbe is such a good front man
  21. Following up on @LukeFRC suggestion, I’ve been checking out the John East Uni Pre, and it looks like a really versatile piece of kit. I think that’s the way I’m going to go
  22. Blimey, I’ve just been looking at the East Uni 4 knob pre, what a versatile piece of kit that is!
  23. I found when I tried the East and Aguilar, to my ears the Aguilar seemed to being out the Warwick’s natural growl a bit more
  24. I had a quick look yesterday and couldn’t see anything obvious. The wires all looked ok and nothing appeared to be loose. I suspect it’s the mid pot, as I said, it seems to have much less impact on the tone than the bass and treb pots. I was looking to get a B7k ultra anyway, so I think first option is to get that and then run the Streamer with the eq off, and use the preamp in the pedal for tone shaping. If, or when, I change the preamp, I’m not sure what to look at. Apart from the MEC, I’ve only ever played 2 types of preamp in a streamer. That was a John East and an Aguilar OBP-3. I preferred the Aggy out of those two.
  25. Thanks for your suggestions gents. I think step 1 is going to be to get the DG pedal, I was looking to get one, regardless of what else I do with the streamer. That will at least give me opportunity to try it before replacing stuff on the SS1
