  1. I was so close to buying this earlier! Glad someone pulled the trigger, I have FAR too many straps!
  2. They might argue it, but if you show them the messages (they should have access to the anyway) that proves he bought it expecting postage when your auction clearly didn't offer postage, then they'll waive the full fee - or at least have done before!
  3. They should honour that offer as well. They did in my case based on the fact its not your fault the buyer clearly ignored your conditions of sale.
  4. eBay will refund you the sales cost or allow you to re-list with no charge if you show evidence of the buyer doing what they've done. I've had that before and they waived the fee I incurred.
  5. Different amp sir
  6. I have a new one I'd sell for £318... 😉
  7. In my personal experience, I've never owned a Squier Strat that couldn't be set up to be played really nicely. I bought a Squier Strat from a bootsale a few months back for £20, initially it played like a dog. It took me about 45 minutes to set it up properly - now it plays beautifully. Squiers are generally pretty decent first guitars and if you have a teeny bit of know-how you can get them playing to a standard that exceeds their price point. I'd steer clear of 'Starcasters', they're the super low budget Argos type version. Now they are a bit crap... All my humble opinion, but I say it with a fair amount of experience in setting up cheaper guitars to play at their best.
  8. I have a Seymour Duncan Woody SA-3XL pickup sitting around doing nothing... half tempted to buy this as a reason to keep the Woody! And you're 5 minutes down the road... Too many tempting things in the 'Accessories' section at the moment!
  9. T'riffic offer sir... The Epiphone would probably be a better fit for a starter, when they're set up properly they're great players, and has 'that look' that any budding guitarist would want!
  10. There's a chap selling a Jackson DS24 DKAM for £125... that's pretty cheap for a decent spec guitar in what looks like top condition.
  11. Hi all, I have a pretty much new Seymour Duncan Woody SA-3XL pickup for sale. It came with an acoustic I recently bought and I honestly can't see me ever using it! It's been used by the previous owner once, so it pretty new. Comes with the canvas bag, the baggie with the spare pole pieces and Allan key as well as all the original tags etc. It works absolutely perfectly. These are £119 new, so £65 with postage seem like a pretty good price to me! The pickup is a hum-cancelling stack with adjustable pole pieces and not the standard Seymour Duncan Woody - thisnis the SA-3XL! Any questions, let me know!
  12. I was on the fence and I have to say, I'm glad I bought one. It's definitely better than I'd imagined and if you don't like it, either return it or play with it for a few months then lob it on eBay and make your money back plus a quid or two extra!
  13. I play 6 string bass half a step down and it didn't miss a beat during yesterday's 4 hour practice.
  14. That's not in the basschat spirit to keep an amp for that long!!! That TA503 was actually my very first foray into MarkBass amps, I remember it being a great little amp, it's what made me get the SD1200!
  15. Well, I've just plugged mine in and compared it to the Trickfish Bullhead 1K... Personally, I prefer the Trickfish, but by a FAR far smaller margin than I was anticipating. I've had the privilege to own and use a sizable number of excellent amps over the years, (Mesa M-Pulsa, Mesa Strategy Eight:88, GR Bass Dual 1400, Markbass SD1200, Markbass Multiamp, Orange AD200B, Trace Elliott V4, among numerous others!) and I will quite honestly say that this pokey little £149 purchase is an astonishingly good bit of kit for the price! Everything in it has a use, nothing superfluous, the fan is quite quiet, the LEDs behind the push buttons and master volume are a great touch, the build quality easily rivals brands costing 5 or even 10 times the cost. I would bet VERY good money, that if you stack this little critter up in a blind sound test against 5 other amps costing 10 times as much and told someone that one amp was £149 and the other 5 were +£1500 that this one would not be identified as the cheapest of the lot! If you're on the fence about buying one... get off the fence! £149 is absurd for this. And this is coming from someone who's last three amps were a Mesa Strategy Eight:88, a GR Bass Dual 1400 and a Trickfish Bullhead 1K.
  16. Hi all, This came with a guitar I recently picked up, I have no need for the case, I already have too many! It's a perfectly serviceable case, the 3 latches work fine, it has some marks and scuffs but all in its a perfectly fine cheap hardcase! And it's yellow lined! (Guitar not included!) £38 posted.
  17. Hi all, This came with an old acoustic guitar I've just picked up. It's a Fender leather backed strap from some point in the 1970s, not sure what specific year! Overall good condition, a but of the stitching has perished, but it all works as it should! The buckle has a dent and is quite tarnished but that's what you get from a well loved 50 year old strap! It'll even come with an equally vintage tiny leather strand to attach it to the headstock of your acoustic if that's how you strap yourself in! £28 posted.
  18. Some of us are trying for that exact sound I'll have you know!
  19. Talk to your bank, with the evidence you've got they might consider it a sort of fraud and refund you. Maybe call IR first, see if you can get through to them over the phone and ask politely for a refund with the reason being the time elapsed since the order was placed has far exceeded what was advised and that you've understandably had to purchase a suitable bass elsewhere. Not sure you'd get much luck from any suggestion of court action given their location.
  20. Yup, some people will churn up just about any story to string you along (*cough* John Letts *cough*). Are you going to hold out or get your money back? Nit sure how easy that'd be if they decided to play hardball given they're in Australia.
  21. Well, with the money you'd save you could trest yourself to some'one' else! (Typo corrected!)
  22. On June 23rd 2022, there was an unnamed 23 year old male attacked on a street in Melbourne by a gang with machetes, Industrial Radio are based in Melbourne I believe, so the story is possible. Either way, if I was in your situation I'd have called time on this month's ago. I had a very similar situation with Letts Basses, I had to issue a Letter Before Action for them to actually respond and agree a resolution before being taken to court. It's a sorry situation when a business just doesn't respond for months and months, it's entirely unacceptable, emails take seconds to send. Call time, get your money back and treat yourself to something else!
  23. I have one in black, 1979. Proper basses these!
  24. Give it a month and we'll see 50 Bugera Veyrons for sale here! 😂 I've not plugged mine in yet, but I will say that the build quality is really quite good! A nice brush solid metal chassis, a convenient built in handle, good stiff (but not too stiff!) knobs, nice clicky buttons. S'all good on the build front.
