  1. DOUBLE POST - SORRY
  2. d'Addario half rounds feel like flats but sound like rounds.
  3. I need an All Of The Above option and a few more besides. Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/3WPQHDN5VniDY6JBGUV7UQ Tidal: https://tidal.com/browse/artist/3605575 Amazon: https://music.amazon.co.uk/artists/B001GOO9NI/sad-lovers-and-giants Apple Music: https://music.apple.com/gb/artist/sad-lovers-giants/200905696 Deezer: https://www.deezer.com/en/artist/1693114 Quobuz: https://www.qobuz.com/us-en/interpreter/sad-lovers-giants/814381 As for listening I don't use a streaming service.
  4. I know that feeling - one of my bandmates is 1/3 of Above & Beyond who are still big on the EDM scene. We don't gig as much as we should because of his commitment to that project. I can't say i blame him as it has made him into a multi millionaire whereas we only get a few hundred in streaming royalties every few months.
  5. L & XL are definitely the sellers in UK, USA, NL and Germany but in Spain and Italy we sell mostly M - I think they are generally smaller in the Med.
  6. We released our last album on CD and vinyl as well as digitally on all the platforms. (2018) The CD has sold out a couple of times (only 1000 per print run, I believe) - I'm not sure if we'll print any more as we're releasing a new album soon. The vinyl still has probably 200 copies left from an initial pressing of 500 - they're slow moving. - I gave 10 copies to Black Circle Records in Leighton Buzzard in an effort to move them. 2 years later he rang me asking to come and get them as they were taking up rack space and he couldn't sell them. I think the next album will definitely be available on CD. I'm not sure if we'll bother with vinyl, which I feel is a shame. By way of contrast, on Spotify, we currently have 128,914 monthly listeners!! and our top streamed track has 8,742,077 plays
  7. Almost all my gigs are fly aways in various EU countries. I always check my bass into the hold in a SKB iSeries case. If you travel with your instrument as baggage then no ATA carnet is required. If your instrument travels unaccompanied, as freight, then an ATA carnet is required.
  8. We always do part of our soundcheck with the PA off. This gives us a better idea of what the onstage mix is like as there isn't sound bouncing off the walls of the emptyish auditorium.
  9. Looking at the itinerary for our next gig in Rotterdam on 18th may we have 2 hours scheduled for load in and soundcheck. I can't imagine ever doing a gig with just a linecheck but then I suppose I'm playing a different kind of venue.
  10. Headlining - It's in Rotterdam https://www.rotterdam.info/en/visit/finder-events/wavefest-xii-sad-lovers-giants-la-bande-son-imaginaire-more
  11. Do you count Squier and Epiphone as cheap copiers? Where would you draw the line?
  12. By lightweight flightcase I mean something akin to the SKB iSeries - Almost all my gigs are fly aways - SKB iSeries cases are much lighter than my traditional plywood and metal angle flightcases (and have wheels as a bonus) - this is important for airline baggage allowances. I use an SKB iSeries for my EBMM Sterling and my Precisions - I believe they're not wide enough for a Schecter Corsair bass.
  13. I quite fancy a Schecter Corsair bass but my inability to find a suitable proper lightweight flightcase that would fit it put me off. Even Schecter couldn't point me in the right direction.
  14. The blurb describes it as a 6 string
  15. In my opinion ANY backing track is too much. We don't even use a click live.
  16. I had a Kay Pbass - I blame it for my current back problems. 45 years later my back has still not recovered. Mine went to the council tip.
  17. I never get the 'Air Miles' - they're always earned by the promotor who books and pays for the tickets. I just turn up and fly.
  18. Almost all my gigs are fly aways so I have little choice as the bass is always hold luggage - I have yet to experience an airline that allows them to be carry on or even checked at the gate! I have a couple of SKB iSeries hard cases which I couldn't gig without. What makes them special is that they have wheels! It makes dragging one's bass through airports so much easier.
  19. For many years I played a Squier JV P - cost £129 (new) in 1983/4 I was never happy with it. I built a few of basses from parts but was never happy with them either. In 2016 I took the plunge and spent £1475 on a EBMM Sterling 4HH - unseen factory order that took 6 months to arrive. It is far and away the most comfortable bass to play that I have ever owned - and it's quite versatile in its tone too. I absolutely love it. It totally killed my GAS. I recently enquired of the EBMM factory what it would cost to have an identical bass made - they quoted $2,799 ex works - so plus shipping, import duties if any and +UK VAT - so likely to end up the wrong side of £3k. I passed. I wish I'd spent the money sooner when I consider how much I wasted pursuing my 'ideal bass' through building one (make that 3).
  20. Whatever happened to Westone? A school friend of mine had one - it was the first bass I played - i really wanted a Thunder 1A but I couldn't afford one.
  21. How do you do that? I can't find any option to delete in 'My Attachments'
  22. I'm not sure whether I ever met him IRL - I think I did. It's always sad when things like this happen. I'm always a bit clumsy with my words in these situations. RIP Nick
  23. Yeah - it looked different to me for a minute or so then went back to the way it looked before.
  24. Either that or my PC is doing weird things.
  25. Adam Clayton? myriad Fenders and Warwicks
