should bands carry on when there's only one original member?
Twigman replied to PaulWarning's topic in General Discussion
Several years ago we put together a 'family tree' - back then SLAG were version #7 - today we're on version #9 and I'm back in the band (have been for several years) - acts not on the tree that probably should be there: Rudimentary Peni & Above and Beyond -

What do you class as the 'original lineup' ? Is it the lineup that attends the first rehearsal? Or the lineup that records the first record? Does a name change count as the same band or another? -
Do you consider reading music important?
Twigman replied to greghagger's topic in Theory and Technique
I understand what a minim, a crotchet, a quaver, a semi-quaver etc is........I just can't read the rhythm.- 115 replies

I used to be able to read treble clef - I am OK getting the pitch right but reading rhythm eludes me. Bass clef is still a mystery to me ( I can never remember the stave).- 115 replies

When i got my nano+ I drilled out the feet and replaced them with 4 jacknuts and taller rubber feet. It means I can get my T-Rex Chamelon underneath, no problem. It's a simple mod that costs pence and takes 30 minutes tops.

My Barefaced cabs don't have Tolex, just a textured paint. I didn't even realise barefaced offered Tolex.

SO how'd it go? Did you work yourself into such a state that the intro to the first song evacuated your head and you totally forgot how to play?

Relax Don't worry about it. Getting in a fluster and overthinking will harm your performance.

We have a whole forum for this kind of thing. Got a whole thread of them here: - there are many more on youtube

I only ever take:- 9V battery (if I remember to pack one) for the Sterling Spare 12AX7valve for my DHA pedal (lives in my pedal bag permanently - not needed one yet) A screwdriver - to open the pedal if necessary to get the duff valve out (if I remember to pack it) A spare lead. A hand towel A pair of underpants - an accidental pre-show self soiling incident could ruin a show

Are you into headless basses?

What are you reading? and What are you listening to? That would get the audiobooks covered good and proper and one wouldn't have to get embarrassed that one was listening to Stephen Fry rather than thumbing page 78

New Scratch Plate for Fender Mexican Nate Mendel
Twigman replied to bassadder's topic in Bass Guitars
Nate Mendel is Mexican? I thought he was from Seattle. -
Look pretty tacky with that cheap and nasty looking logo, the horrible 'body art' and hardly 'custom' with such a limited options list, particularly when it comes to finishes. I suspect they'll go nowhere fast

Ho Tony Well he is a bit of a slag
