I've been after a small 'pocket rocket' back up head for quite a while. One that I can just keep in the gig bag should the worst happen to my beloved Trace. I held out for one of these after reading all the love for them on these hallowed pages. Well, it arrived this morning and I'm a very happy bunny. Very simple controls, lovely tone and through my BF Super Twin it sounds very loud for such a compact box, Happy Days 😁
Glad to hear it's sorted.
Yeah, me too thanks. I'm very impressed. I'd heard people rave about these pickups before, but they really do have a real thick punch to them. The Squier VM P that I've fitted it to already had a Kiogon kit fitted (CTS pots etc). My MIJ 70's reissue P is fitted with a Custom Shop '62 which I also love, but this model P really has turned my Squier into a worthy alternative rather than just a decent spare.

Another recommendation for Dave Ball in Nottingham. Got rid of a buzz on my TE SMX that had been there forever and also gave my other TE head (later Peavey era) a good going over (dry joints etc).

Happy to add to Tony's feedback. Bought a Di Marzio Model P pickup. Item exactly as described, prompt delivery and great communication throughout. Trade with confidence. Many thanks again

🙄 I'm a muppet. The insulation tape shielding the black and white wires had come off, thus interfering with the other wires. Now sounds great.

Apologies in advance for being sh*te with wiring but here goes. I've just bought this Dimarzio Model P off the forum and have wired it up into my Squier P with a Kiogon solderless kit already fitted. The black and white wires are taped together and are not being used. I've put the red wire where the white would normally go and the green wire in with the already present ground wires (where the black would normally go). Half the pickup sounds fine i.e. thick and powerful tone. The other half sounds very quiet and out of phase. Any ideas what I may have done wrong? Cheers

A few years ago on this very forum I posted a wanted ad for a Trace GP12SMX head. A very kind fellow member offered me his broken one for free, save for a £50 donation to BC. I promptly headed off down the motorway, collected the head and then dropped it off at my local repairers. Best part of £70 later and it was all back up and running and sounding fabulous. I now have 2 of them but this one that was brought back from the dead has been my main gigging amp ever since (easily identified by the scar on the faceplate above the High Compression knob).
Dan, the actual link Alex puts up STATES 2 X M5 bolts per handle. But each handle comes with 4 (presumably M5 bolts).
I know exactly what you mean Karl. The original Mk1/Mk 2 handles have 2 screws per handle. When you order the replacements they are supplied with 4 screws per handle. Can those other additional 2 screws be used and if so, how?
-
I'm not explaining myself very well (just for a change). 2 x Tnut /handle 4 x bolt /handle where do the extra 2 bolts go INTO THE CAB? No Tnut or hole for them to go into.
😂 Just beat me to it
-
You really need to have a washer and nut inside the cab. A screw will not be secure in the thin plywood. Frank.
Yeah, but the thought was just to put something in there to stop the side to side 'swing' of the handles
-
I had the same Karlfer when I changed them on that Super 12. I was going to just put a wood screw in the additional handle holes (purely to stop that slight movement), but I never got round to it. 🙄

Bought a splitter Cable off Lozz but needed a jack plug connection instead of a speakon. After I had checked with OBBM, Lozz very kindly agreed to send it on to him to make the necessary changes before sending it on to me. Speedy delivery and great communication throughout. Hope you're well Lozz and many thanks again 😁
I'm with you on that one. Not my thing at all. FOr me it was the amp I've owned which I was most disappointed with, after all the hype I'd read. My absolute 100% amp recommendation has to be the Trace Elliot SMX series. The 250 will see off any modern class D 500 Watter volume-wise and has a tone and sheer impact that I have not found elsewhere. The 250's are reasonably portable too - an easy one hand lift. (although it all gets a bit silly with the 350 and up, which are well over 20kg) I keep trying other stuff but always come back to owning an SMX. Amazing amps.
100% snap. Could have said that myself, word for word 😁

The cab merry-go-round continues! Bought/part-traded my old BF cab back off Richard today. A pleasure to deal with as before and had a good old natter about amps and cabs. Many thanks again Richard, until we meet again.

Bought another harness from John for a Squier VM P. Another speedy, seamless transaction and great product. The bass sounds fab! Many thanks again John.

Picked this up very recently but funds are required elsewhere so this is going to have to go. This is the later second generation of the GB NeoX 2x12 cab. Spec here: http://www.genzbenz.com/?fa=detail&mid=2909&sid=725&cid=96 It's in great condition other than a slight dent on the grill that I've tried to show in the last photo. Comes complete with a Roqsolid cover. Collection or meet up only please (I'm in a South Yorkshire).
