1. Thank you Douglas, I'm sorry I breached regulations, 'cough' I for one appreciate all of your efforts. Tom.
2. It seems to me that there is a resurgence of sellers putting 'SOLD' at the end of the thread rather than in the title where it can be easily seen. This means that when reading a thread all the way through only to find the item has been sold!! Very frustrating. I've had a few of those recently and it's irritating. Can this be pinned? Or even altered to look like the 'items wanted' headers? Tom. (and breathe)
3. Yes take the mods out and flog it, I had the same problem and did just that. Bought a lightweight body and neck from Gear4Music and my P bass weighs 7.5 lbs. Sorted.
4. Arrived this morning, looks great, fits perfectly. 2 weeks isn't bad from China. £8 bargin.
5. Just flogged my Gramma pad to Mike, paid really quickly. No problems here, a real Basschat gent. Cheers Mike. Tom.
6. Well after a couple of weeks playing around with the DiMarzio I'm quite liking it, power by the shovelful and the tone is soulful to me at moderate volumes. To me it's like have a 10 watt hifi, you have to turn it up quite high to get good volume but in doing that you are stretching its sound capabilities a lot whereas a 100w will give you a better low volume sound and have punch too. I know what I'm trying to say...... Jose, I'm loving your purple J, P bass and I'm looking at funds...
7. Karl, that's easily uglier than me or you. A shotgun would improve it no end The weight is very tempting.....
8. Bought some tuners from Tony, perfect condition, sent quickly. An absolute gent to deal with. Trade with confidence. cheers Tony.
9.
As long as you is bridge ground and the right pots any pups will work
Paul, that statement should be taken outside and shot.
10. Bump for a great bass in excellent condition.
11. As title, in good condition, the covering is through at 1 corner and there is a small nick in the purple foam but it's nothing. Just being honest. It's the 59cm x 39cm or 23"x 15" near enough in old money. I've sold my Fender amp and this won't fit my new Markbass so it's up for grabs. It made a big difference in our boomy church hall. £35 delivered in the UK Pics:
12. Hi, I have the CMD151P and have to say it's the best combo by far that I've ever owned. Powerful and focused. Depends where you gig as to whether you'd need a cab. I cannot speak for the JB though but I'd imagine they are quite similar apart from it not having a tweeter and the amp facing forward. Hope that helps from 1 amp point of view.. Tom.
13. Another day and another fine deal with Karl. I stole his orange P bass and what a cracker it is. Kept in touch every step of the way (as usual). Karl is great to deal with and we always have a bit of banter. Good on yer mate. tommi
14. Will do Dave.
15. The OP clearly hasn't read the rules about what you can and Can't post here.
16. Tuesday sees the arrival of my new sunset orange P, A pete wentz P and a markbass CMD151P combo Can't wait
17. Eh? sometimes you're so inscrutable Martin
18. Hi all, the fundraising continues. This is an immaculate chinese copy of a well known guitar, When I bought it the electronics were absolute rubbish so I threw them away and asked John (KiOgon) to make me a passive conversion for it which he did at great expense, but well worth it. The bass is transformed and plays really well with lots of power and clarity (IMHO of course) The controls are now VV-TT, series/ parallel switch and a kill switch. Weight is 8.9 lbs on digital scales. **HAVING HAD A QUESTION ABOUT THE NECK I MEASURED IT AND IT'S 42MM, SO IT'S A P NECK.** I'm asking £250 because of the upgrade which was over £60. **PLEASE NOTE, THIS IS NOT A REAL MM** PICS:
19. again late but I've just sold my rumble 100 v3 and couldn't believe how much power it had but there are so many buttons and knobs and I can't be doing with it. Not struck with the tone but that's a personal thing, I LOVE Markbass tone and after I sold my CMD151P for not much money I've realised that I have to have another one so it's coming on Monday. Feel a bit stupid sometimes, grass is always greener etc'
