1.
Thanks for relies! Will trubass rotos still worked when plugged in? its this bass http://www.gear4musi..._kword__match__
I'vw got Roto Trubass on my Takamine. Why would they not work?
2. I've got two acoustic basses, both with flats for several years.
3.
The colour coding is different and Fenders are lower tension. If D'Adario make Fender strings they use a different recipe. I also thought the Fenders I tried were awful, not a patch o D'Adario.
Fender strings are made by D'Addario, but Fender strings are not merely repackaged D'Addarios, i.e. Fender flats are not Chromes.
4. If the purchaser wasn't happy I'd full refund after they returned the item.
5. Very stylish, Nige, well done.
6.
That is a damn fine tone. Do the big F still supply that bridge assembly? Couldn't spot one on the website.
http://www.thebassplace.com/parts-miscellaneous-c-8_26/fender-jazz-bass-mute-kit-p-54
7. If you don't like how it looks then don't take the cover off. Or buy something else.
8.
Do people put any value on being able to try an instrument in real life or is it just about "he who is cheapest gets the business"?
I'd be totally happy to pay more in life than on line.
9.
... A shop that takes good care of its stock will make sure the guitars are well set-up before people are allowed near them ...
Guitars/basses in shops are never set up the way I would want them. Always got the wrong strings for start. I'd have zero expectation of finding an instrument set up for me.
10.
Standard P bass, do you want a colour ?
Olympic White.
11. You need a short story of the Slab 66 on the home page, not everyone knows what it is. You need (at least) an anouncement of what you do, i.e. make Slab 66s in a variety of finishes. I also didn't like the audio; short sound files of what the bass can sound like, solo, would be better.
12.
I doubt the investment will be recognised in royalties
... and that's why I'm out.
13. Looking at the distance to the tailpiece on the Broadkaster, I wouldn't be surprised if you need long scale strings.
14. Surely that's at least one zero too many.
15. I bought a chorus pedal from Nick. Clear, straightforward, and fast and when I managed foolishly to slightly overpay NIck threw in some connectors to make up the difference. Top guy, I say deal with him now.
16.
...the caveat emptor (buyer beware) principle does still apply sadly, and ignorance (as in no Ts and Cs to hand) is not generally accepted as an excuse in law. You would probably have to demonstrate that you had tried hard to find the information...
.. and the information that you can't in any real sense insure a musical instrument with Parcelforce is easily available here at Basschat as we have had this same conversation several, possibly many, times.
17. No, I'll be reading one of the classics instead.
18. Best to assume you'll have to pay it, reckon on 25%, and then when you do get away with it, you'll be happy.
19.
Macca's violin bass. That would do me. Got to be the most valuable, iconic bass. Ever.
Maybe even most valuable, iconic musical instrument. Ever.
20. It's definitely hit and miss. Parcel value over £60 and it arrived no customs charges. Two days later, parcel value £40 plus customs charges.
21. If anyone is having intonation or other bridge problems I highly recommend the Staytrem replacement bridge. It's not cheap at £65 but I'd say it was well worth it. You'd need the 9.5" radius for the Squier or for the Pawn Shop: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wide-bridge-to-fit-Fender-Bass-VI-and-Pawn-Shop-Bass-/181241712541?pt=UK_Guitar_Accessories&var=&hash=item2a32d90f9d
22. Keep what I've got and pay the mortgage.
23.
Really? A hundredth of the time?
You haven't been to one of my band's rehearsals have you?
24.
... It doesn't follow the musical rules; it has a perception of exclusivity, of intellectualism and manner that isn't open to everyone; and it's a feedback loop, that has begun to play back upon itself...
... and I was thinking it was dance music.
25. Very nice Jake, When is the album out?
