3.
As is the assumption that it is Flea who has ruined slap, and not Stanley Clarke...
+1 I really like Flea and his slapping
4. Bump for an awesome set up (mine's identical pretty much apart from the age of head)
5.
if you want SD active best choice would be Seymour duncan lighten rod's
I'm after some passive pickups. Think i've settled on the quarter pounders
6.
They are passive... but they have a higher output than many active basses. I've recently had some of these fitted to a five string Squire Precision (which has jazz style pickups - I don't know why) and they sound incredible.
# Thank you very much Jennifer just need to find a retailer now
7. Crikey! That was quick. Just had a look on the SD site and it says that their active pickups are listed as Blackouts and Livewires. So looks like the quarter pounds are passive... i guess. Might have to order through GAK then :/ would i be able to get some through John Shuker or someone like that?
8. Can someone tell me if the Basslines Quarter Pound J pickups are active or passive? As I'm looking at buying a set. Also, where can you buy them in the UK? (other than GAK)
9. I once bought a bass to be in band with a girl i liked... my first bass in fact haha!
10. go on stringsdirect.co.uk they do a few singles i think
11. Stagg BC300. Utterly shocking and is without a doubt the cheapest and nastiest bass i have ever played. Made more from plastic cups than actual wood, and certainly sounded like it too
12. super huge. sounds sooo nice though
13. PM warwickhunt as he'll probably know or be able to ask someone on the warwick forum who'll know Absolutely gorgeous bass by the way. One of the nicest Infinity's i've ever seen
14. I'll go that a go this weekend then. I'll let you know if it helps
15. Dirk Lance Used Warwick Basses (Streamer Stage II 5 strings) with a HUGE eden rig (pre-amps, power amps and cabs) Have a gander here Dirk's Bass Rig As you can see, i want his tone also haha
16. another good sikth track for some nicely timed slap would be the beginning of summer rain too
17. I've noticed that the output limit light on my amp lights up quite a lot on my amp, this is with the EQ set fairly flat with a touch of added treble and bass and the gain at 12 o'clock and master usually on about 11-12 o'clock. Is this something bad?
18. Going to have to get those UV Orange strings! Hope theyre not going to be like £45 ¬_¬
19. Are they bartolini pickups? Beautiful Corvette by the way
20. To be fair, this list is hugely better than the NME and BBC compiled list
21. Had a lecture today on innovations etc and it got me thinking... What are the best and most innovative products in the bass world? There are quite a few i thought of straight away e.g. Neo Cabs and different pickups (ChiSonic's in particular) What would you say have been the best?
