1. The SM500 will run 2 x 4 ohm cabs if run in stereo mode ( 2 cabs at 250 watts per channel into each) or you can bridge the 2 x 250 watt internal amps to run at a total of 500 watts. You can run 2 x 4 ohm cabs bridged to get more power output, but you will find that the amp will run seriously hot even though the amp has an internal thermos fan & it may affect the reliability of the amp over a long period of time.
2. Yike !! If only i wasn't downsizing my rig, i would grab this head off you myself A superb price !!

5. Yeah !! Doug Wimbish, what an inspirational bass player he is, he's also played on Annie Lennox first solo album & the first couple of Seals too, if i remember correctly.

10. Surprised this hasn't sold yet, what a great price, would make an excellent rig, with my swr cabs that i have for sale.
11. Pleased to see you're sorted now, the aggies look good. Wouldn't be selling these but just have too much, once these are sold, it'll still mean that i have 3 cabs, 2 combos, 2 amps, a pre & poweramp, & a practice amp. So yes i need thin the heard so to speak. Can't wait to see the look on the girlfriends face if & when i try to fit all of these in the flat at Christmas. Could be me that gets stuffed this Christmas !!!!
12. Damn !! All the reports of how enjoyable TM Stevens was is making me extremely jealous. I wish i could have made it, but prior engagements made this not possible. Being a big Tm Stevens fan that i am, have have most of his albums & his instructional dvd so i can imagine how entertaining he was & groovy he sounded. Boing !!!!
13. This years gigging will be ending soon & the sudden realisation that i'll be taking all of my gear home has hit me. Over the years i've accumulated an excess of equipment, that with next years plan of playing less giggs & smaller venues means that having nearly 3 rigs & 2 combos is far too much for me to keep for any period of time. So its with great regret, i'm having to put my Swr Goliath junior III 2 x10 cab up for sale. This cab has been kept in flightcases when not being used so this is in what i shall describe as being in vgc as they have been gigged. I will not include the flightcases in the prices quoted but if there's a request i'll quote that seperately. Believe me, the cab sounds fantastic , every single note will be heard loud & clear. This has the chrome front grille, it has a speakon or 1/4 jack input & outputs, along with high frequency attenuator for the tweeter. Pics to follow. Looking for offers of £220 please. Pics to follow as soon as. I forgot to mention that this cab is front ported. http://www.swrsound.com/support/vintage.php#prospeakers I'm in Birmingham so i'm willing to meet at services around there, which includes M6, M5 or M42. Or they can be tried at my home, anywhere else please ask.
14. I didn't know leftysteve but i read some of his posts, so i'd like to pass on my best wishes to his family, friends & anyone that new / respected him.
15.
I managed to get to Nicks place last year, really nice bloke and a wonderful place. sorry to hear of his loss, if there is another bass event there next year count me in.
I had the pleasure of going last year too & a finer host & knowledgable chap you couldn't wish to meet. Deeply sorry to hear about your loss. Sending you my best wishes & so much looking forward to seeing soon at next years bass bash.
16. From what it seems to me, its either he's not to keen on the songs that you're performing or he isn't spending enough time on his own practising the songs. My reason for saying this is: Even listening to songs on the radio, sometimes songs you don't like you generally get a hook or melody that you remember & timing generally comes with familiarity from constantly listening to the song/s. The only other thing i can think of is that he maybe having problems at home which doesn't allow him to donate the time & attention to the songs he has to learn. It could be an arm around the shoulder time to see if he's having a problems at home before taking any action, if he's a close friend.
17.
That's the plan man, 2 2x10's is all I need, although one 2x10 with my TD650 is more than enough for a small to medium size gig.
2x10's get the seal of approval from me these days too
18. I'd be interested in going to see Tm stevens too, i've seen an instructional bass vid of his & its very entretaining to say the least. The guys way out there, but he can groove like a bad m*.^******* !!!!
19. I must say the quality of photgraphy of this bass by Marcus was superb, no wonder it sold so quickly, it almost felt as if i could reach out & touch it from my computer screen.
20. Great basses the vmj's i'm surprised this hasn't been sold as yet.
21. Reminds me of back in the mid nineties when i was in a heavy metal band who were Racer X influenced & we used to play this song in our soundcheck & occasionally live
22. Just noticed this thread !!! I haven't laughed so much in ages, anyway here's about mine She's a lovely 75 reissue nice copper top, was her abandoned by her previous owner who didn't treat her very well, but over the 4 years i've had her she's maturing quite nicely, she's a bit lean up top but has a nice rounded shapely bottom which is a pleasure to play. Infact when i first had her i used to play her for hours on end & she responds better the longer she's played. Every now & again the bottom pickup gets a bit moist after lots of use, but after a short rest & a wipe down, then she's happy to carry on where we left off. She's definately a keeper
