  1. Hi All, i have 1 set of these unopened & unused strings. I've recently decided to go to a lighter guage & ideally i want to trade these into the medium V's set 40-125's. Preferably Elites, if not Rotosounds please. If not, i'm prepared to sell, to turn these into cash so i can buy the appropriate guage. I'm looking to sell these at £15.50 posted. Thanks for looking.
  2. Lol !! Its not 63 its now 65 !!!!! another 2 have hatched
  3. Mmmmm loving them jazzes, yes i'm indeed droolin', i've a thing for sunburst fender shaped basses. Although i agree with Lefty J on the tort guard comment i wouldn't say no if it has handed to me. Right, i'm off to drool somemore
  4. As in the notice above your request, it says "all sold".
  5. I've been keeping my eye on this thread, its very interesting & informative. Err no updates
  6. Blimey !!! this would have had me tearing my hair out by now. Is there no way of getting tracking numbers, so that you at least know that they are on their way to you or not lost in transit.
  7. What a giveaway price & a superb cab, can't see this being on here for much longer. Would have had this myself, but i'm skint & playing smaller venues these days. Here's a big bargain bump mate
  8. enough already, lol let me drool in peace
  9. I've managed to take some more pics of my Swr gear, hope you like it. First up my trusty SM400s a great tweekers amp, not a plug & play amp, some great sounds can be coaxed from these. [attachment=24227:400s_rack_1.jpg] Next up is my big gig rack, my Swr st800 poweramp & grand prix preamp. [attachment=24228:St800_rig_1.jpg] A beautiful sounding Baby baby blue combo, its so versatile & can be used with my goliath junior 2 x10 for a small gig rig. Cab in one hand, combo in the other. Can also be used as a standalone rig. [attachment=24229:Swrbbb_1.jpg] Some seem to forget back in the late 80's early nineties Swr was one of the few manufacturers making small lightweight bass cabs. Oh! A special mention should go to fellow basschatter (mrbassman) Keith. Cheers mate.
  10. Hi there dmz, the lakkie's looking & sounding as superb as the day i had it from you. Thank you so much for parting with it. Your 55-94 fretless looked & sounded superb, when you played it for me, its pity i can't play fretless.
  11. Lol !! unfortunately the panelling belongs to the original owner of this bass.
  12. I've got to add my lakland 55-01 which i purchased from a fellow basschatter last year & still use today. [attachment=24196:L5501b_1_.jpg]
  13. Was just reading back thro' this thread & noticed Bassbod's Mr Tone Control, wow !! You don't see many of them at all, what a rarity !!. On my first look i thought it was a grand prix pre-amp.
  14. I've finally got round to taking some pics of my swr gear. I've been using Swr amps & cabs now for nigh on 15 yrs, its all i've ever wanted & all i've ever needed enough said. My current Swr configuration [attachment=24193:redhead_2x10rig_1.jpg] My spare 2x10 cab in case i want to use a seperate head [attachment=24194:IMG_0134.JPG] My Stereo 800 poweramp [attachment=24195:IMG_0122.JPG] Watch out for pics of my other Swr gear .
  15. Oh ! Blimey, i've been a bit busy lately so i've been offline for a while. Will have to post some pics up of my Swr gear on here soon
  16. Hi everyone, Just have to say to anyone going to see Kings x tonite at the electric ballroom, london. That your going to be in for a fantastic evenings entertainment by a vastly underated band. Oh yes ladies & gentleman i went to see this band last nite in wolverhampton. To be honest it rates for me asone of the best gigs i've ever seen, a no frills straight ahead rock show, with great songs & 3 band members giving it their all & the audience giving it back. Some of the show was being filmed & i believe tonights show is also being filmed for a future dvd release. Doug or shall i say (dug) Pinnocks bass sound was huge, the amount of distortion he gets & still makes it sound musical has to heard to be believed, he also plays a 12 string bass for one song to. Not to mention his unbelieveably powerful voice. To anybody who's going i won't mention songs, but your in for a great gig experience. Oh ! plus the band stayed behind & were more than happy to sign autographs & have pics taken too. Enjoy !!!
  17. I've got to agree with you there BTGAndy they don't look as classy without the chrome grills. I also wonder how long it'll take before we see these in the uk.
  18. Hi All, Just checked out the Swr website to find that they've just announced their new Golight series of bass cabs. Check the link for more info. 19. I miss Phil too !! I had the pleasure of meeting him round the back of the Birmingham odeon during the renagade tour he thanked me for supporting the band & shook my hand. Then later on during the gig when i was standing down the front i threw my Thin lizzy scarf towards the stage, he picked it up, wore it for one song, then threw it back to me & gave me his famous grin & the clenched fist that he always did during live shows. What a character he was !!!
  20. Had the great please of meeting "steady" freddie a few years back at the bass centre in birmingham at an Swr bass clinic, where he played that song all the thro' with no backing track & boy did he make the room groove. He has a great feel & rock solid timing, he makes it all look so easy doesn't he.
