  1. This one has ProBucker 760 humbucking pickups, so I believe the sound is the Thunderbird sound.
  2. New Reverend Thundergun color. I'm guessing it's just like Fender's Antigua...either you love it or hate it.
  3. For anyone concerned with the ergonomics of the Thunderbird, Epiphone people say the Embassy basses sound identical. Not my cup of tea, but...
  4. Vintage Pro or Classic Pro, both get the job done, but the Vintage is special...the price is ridiculously low. By the way, don't let anyone tell you the current Gibson T-birds are better. Other than that, a good gig bag is readily available if you don't want a hardshell case. I've been using mine for seven or eight years.
  5. The soundhole makes it look funny. Other than that, I'd like to see this guy playing one.
  6. I'm waiting for the official video. Not necessarily to hear how it sounds, but to hear how Fender tub-thumps it.
  7. Easy, I'd let someone else do it.
  8. I've only tried maybe a dozen active Fender basses, never found one that had me reaching for my wallet, but these really surprised me, especially the P bass...impeccable fit and finish, fantastic neck and fretboard, and the pickups and electronics seem made for the GHS tapewounds
  9. I had the chance to buy this for $750 last summer...it was heavier than usual, but I still regret it.
  10. The band who will make you forget all about Fall Out Boy?
  11. I have ten basses. I keep mutes on several instead of storing them in this or that case. I use them, too, of course for that nice thumping tone.
  12. You're welcome. (I've been a G&L guy since 2017.)
  13. One of the best in its price zone. Sorry I missed out on this one when they were available everywhere. Very versatile for a single-pickup bass, very comfortable. https://www.talkbass.com/threads/g-l-kiloton-tribute.1601420/
  14. Bacchus makes some very nice basses...from $300 to $3,000. These are in the $1,000 and under range. (They have more finish options than any other company, too.)
  15. Fender finishes are often all over the place when it comes to certain colors, and sometimes this applies to G&L, too. For instance, Sonic Blue can be anywhere from as vivid as Daphne Blue to a blue so light it's nearly white. Other than that, the two in the middle are good representations of Tidepool Blue. (Do you have to have blue and does it have to be a Fender Player P bass?)
  16. My Italia Imola is very special. They do make a 5-string model.
  17. Squier Contemporary Active Precision Bass in Sunset Metallic...incredible finish. The roasted maple is nice, too.
  18. No more of an annoyance than the sales clerk coming up to me mid song and asking me if I liked the bass, seeing that I'd just played three other songs testing the tone.🤣 Seriously though, played it through a new Ampeg Rocket...good combo.
  19. First new bass in nearly a year. Sure, I could've spent 2, 3, or 4 times more, but once I plugged this one in, none of the other basses in the store even existed!
  20. I haven't played any of his other baases, but his shop is only 45 minutes to an hour away. I'm glad I bought a good one.
  21. Thank you. $1,300-$1,700 depending on the bass and features. Mine originally sold for $975 six years ago, but I didn't buy it. Then, I saw it on Reverb in October 2019 for $500 and I jumped on it. I was interested in the gold Jazz too...same price back in 2017.
  22. 0 Gamma Alpha Local guy puts together parts basses and charges some crazy prices according to some people. The thing is, he puts together some very nice basses.
  23. ...it doesn't even have to say Squier. Haven't played this one in over a year. Only P bass I own. Stored away with some other gear...I have eight other basses...I took it for a spin yesterday and it was like driving a classic car, no nonsense, it simply gets the job done. Passive, pure and potent. It won't be going back in its case for quite some time!
  24. If someone doesn't like them, fine, but I've yet to see anyone even attempt to explain what's wrong with buying something like this, for example.
  25. I can tell you which bass I'd buy...
