The cover of a music magazine - or any magazine - featuring a weapon unless strictly in context is horrendous timing at any time. My opinion of any individual who thinks it's cool to pose with a weapon is also not that high.

But he's not playing in a band situation and is clearly doing it to show off his skills. Not my thing but fair play to him.

With obvious exceptions you can pretty much put anything through anything. Part of the mojo of the B-15 tone is however the cab. Perhaps try it the other way around, that is put another head through the B-15 cab, and you might see what I mean. Volume/power is one thing, and is easily achieved, mojo on the other hand is a little more elusive

Heavy is the only way, lightweight works, but only to a point.

Should have added to the above post that, in my opinion, a fretless bass really needs to speak to you, to respond to your fingers in accordance with the sound in your head, and to feel 'right' in your hands. I strongly believe that you have to do a lot of trial an error to find the right instrument (I've had over 20). Not sure where you're based but getting along to one of the BC Bass Bash events and playing a load of different instruments, some of which may also be for sale at much lower prices than you'll pay in any shop, is a good start.
