  1. Beautiful example of a great instrument, I tried to sell mine a while back, then I heard our guitarist play it after he'd played his J-45 and realised that it might be a keeper (in fact our guitarist made that decision for me by in effect keeping it albeit on permanent loan). Sorry to see you selling it @oldslapper
  2. How do you fit it all in 😆 Please keep me posted re Mesa mate 👍
  3. if you have a bad feeling don’t go ahead, that’s what feelings are for 👍
  4. Armies go to war with less gear Given your other listings @Chimike is suspect the National Trust comment was quite so far fetched! Don't suppose there's a 'Mesa Boogie goodies' thread on its way Hope all's well mate Chris
  5. That is a killer rig, would cost a whole lot more to buy that Possibly an understatement Great rack @Chimike
  6. It's almost as if there's a PR agency out there suggesting to bands who's fortunes are sliding that being a complete silly billy in front or a large audience, real or virtual, is a great way to get your name back in the headlights. And if only there wasn't precedent, but ........ The spokesperson for a famous tech company who used to sponsor a sports team that was continually being found to have broken doping rules said that while winning races got their brand featured on the back pages of papers, being prosecuted for doping got them onto the front page, and in his opinion most people simply saw the name and didn't think to hard about the context.
  7. And in case that has confused anyone, and especially if they've never played on of these, that is about as good a bass as can be bought these days 👍 Hope all's well @Marcus
  8. There are voices in my head and they're getting louder 🤔
  9. Sorry mate but it reads like one to me
  10. E flat is good as long as all your basses are E flat 👍
  11. Not anorak if you're used to one or the other, I utterly rely on it being a D
  12. This lot turning up at my place demanding money would scare the stinky poo out of me
  13. One of my all time faves Jack, nothing obscure about it
  14. Option paralysis is a great phrase @LukeFRC. But yes, I have 8 Fender-fit necks and 8 Fender-fit bodies to play with and while some combinations disappoint, others simply excel. The Enfields however are another level, I start with P-Bass each time and slowly blend in other things depending on the song, and I have to say I'm falling back in love with playing bass, fretted and fretless 👍
  15. Great idea @carlsim 👍
  16. Or Spandau Ballet as they were better known 👍
  17. Thanks @Clarky, yes back in the day that would have been mine, extraordinary sounding instruments, there is no other passive fretless out that that can get the sheer power and tone that these can. But, as per another thread recently, I've owned two and sold two, I think it's time to see sense 🤔 However, if you've not owned one of these, you owe it to yourself, the first gig I did with my first was extraordinary, we started with Whole Lotta Love, and when the bass kicked in everyone in the space - including the audience, the rest of the band, the bar staff, everyone - seemed to stop for a few seconds, smile, check their viscera for damage, and carry on. It was one of the best gigs I ever played PS Clarky we really should have a curry sometime mate 👍
  18. Want your money back? Ask yourself, how would these two guys go about it......?
  19. Mmm, almost tempted to have it back to see if it likes my Alu more than my other mics and PUPs do...
  20. My first thought on reading this thread 😆
  21. Gigging mine for the first time in two weeks on an equally steampunk bass. Will report back 👍
  22. Do you know if the neck is drop-in Fender fit?
  23. I suspect that day was the day after the gig
  24. More than a neutron star 👍
