The battery connector has been removed and a new one will need to be soldered - I can provide a new one for you to attach though. This fact is reflected in the price A great option if you want your bass to have some of that trademark Warwick growl, or equally if you want your Warwick bass to have the complete Warwick tone! £30 with free UK postage! 5. Up for sale is my Ampeg PF-50T tube head. Immaculate condition, very light home use only. Am letting this go as I predominantly practice using headphones these days and I cannot justify such a cracking amp going unused. Given that it hasn’t been played much the tubes should last a good while yet before they need replacing. This is a particularly versatile amp, with five mid frequencies to choose from. There are also ‘ultra hi’ and ‘ultra lo’ buttons that can boost the high end and/or low end even further. A great option for getting that classic old-school tube vibe when practicing or for small gigs. Further description from the good people at Ampeg below: The legendary tone and portability of the all-tube Ampeg Portaflex amplifiers is faithfully reproduced in the PF-50T. This all-tube Portaflex head provides a harmonically rich and studio-worthy 50 watts of pure Ampeg tone to satisfy the most discerning bass player. Featuring simple user-adjustable bias adjustment for easy tube replacement and pre-amp and transformer balanced direct outs for maximum versatility. Plus, no speaker load is required for silent recording or even use as a dedicated tube DI. Pair it with the PF-112HLF for the ultimate compact all-tube bass rig. I don’t have the original box but do have the owner’s manual. Given this and its rather hefty weight (8.8kg), this is collection only from Surrey please. Now £425! These are a bit tricky to come by at the moment and brand new would cost a big chunk more. No offers, many thanks. I would potentially be interested in a trade for a nice 4 string P-bass of equivalent value and a bit of cash either direction if needs be. Or a lightweight GR Neo cab/GR mini amp, again with a bit of cash either way. Any questions, please let me know!
  6. Usually Brixton Academy seating is all unreserved (unless that’s changed in the last couple of years), so you may be lucky on this occasion as the pre-sale purchasers won’t be able to choose where they sit. For other venues though yeah, I can see it being annoying.
  7. Lots of good advice and options here that you may not have otherwise considered. Going back to the original question of upgraded MIM vs MIA, there’s not much point buying a Mexican and just upgrading it straight away. If you can afford it you may as well just go straight to an American. That being said, I’m currently on the market for a Fender P - I’m fortunate enough to be able to afford a MIA but will likely go MIM. Partly to save a few pennies for something else, but also because I want something to practice my much neglected pick technique on and chuck around a bit without constantly needing to tinker with my EQ etc. So context of what you’re using it for is important and whether in your own mind the extra investment is justified.
  8. Ooh, three cabs. Now there’s a new scenario - don’t tempt me! 😬 I didn’t realise they had a Pure switch, that is actually very cool indeed. Now I’m not sure which amp to get 😂
  9. Thanks @Merton @jrixn1, I think I’ve got you. Yes, small and light is key for me. Another way option then I guess could be just sticking with a single 4ohm 1x12 @ 350 watts for both practice and small gigs, that may just about cover both situations. Or perhaps two 1x12s at 8ohms each. I’d be getting less power for practice with the single, but there would be a more even split across the two for gigs. Either way those options make my original 2.67ohm question redundant I guess 😂 Still useful to know though.
  10. Ah I see what you’re saying. My plan was to use a 4ohm cab alone for practice to get the full 350w, and then pair it with an 8ohm for small gigs - giving 2.67ohms, to get the full 350w out of both again. Or does the 8ohm not get the full output in that scenario? I.e. 4ohm gets the 350w, 8ohm gets the 117w? Sorry I’m not an expert on this stuff, I could well be wrong!
  11. That’s cool, I was tempted by a PureAmp myself but am playing through headphones and with backing tracks a lot at the moment so could do with those extra inputs. All of the GR Bass amps look great though, as do those Carbon cabs.
  12. To answer my own question 😂 I contacted GR Bass directly and they got back to me like greased lightning - yes, it can run at 2.67ohms, as can their other amps. In case anyone is interested.
  13. Sorry for the thread resurrection, thought this would be the best place for this question! Does anyone know if the GR Bass MiniONE can run at 2.67ohms? Am interested as thinking it could make a nice modular rig with a couple of carbon cabs at 4ohms and 8ohms (I.e. getting the full wattage with a 4ohm cab alone and both together).
  14. Not sure if this is true but some people are saying Absurd was a shelved track from Chinese Democracy. If that’s the case and it’s the best GnR can up with these days, it makes this situation pretty tragic.
  15. Only one listen but doesn’t sound great. Vocals are a bit weird and that section around the 2.09 minute mark reminds me of the intro to ‘Love Story’ by Taylor Swift!
  16. Wow advert 2 hours ago and already 4 buyers - with good reason! Lovely bass. I am still hoping a Marleaux Votan will also come up sometime soon 😬
  17. @Bassman666 Ooh I saw that one on the website last week, how does the sound compare to a traditional Thumb?
  18. I’ve got a 2008 Thumb BO (Ovangkol baseball bat neck) and never had any issues. To echo other comments though - if the seller won’t let you take a proper look at the truss rod etc. to verify the issue then leave it. I know Warwicks are slightly harder to come by in the US but there are still plenty of really good second hand options out there, I’m sure you’ll find another (better) one.
  19. I have the same issue, more basses than I can justify right now but in my case it’s because I’m not actively gigging/playing in a band. I’ve managed to sell a couple and I felt less bad about it afterwards than I thought. Maybe try shifting your least favourite first and see how you feel afterwards. Letting it go for the right price always helps too!
  20. Woah. That’s really bad. Although for someone who generally isn’t keen on relics it’s taught me a lesson, in that there is an art to making a decent/authentic looking one.
  21. Jeez these look so nice, Timmy C is a bit of a tone hero for me but due to already owning a Stingray that I’ll never sell (sentimental reasons) and the price being north of £2k I’ll have to let this one go. If I was buying one I think I’d get a passive natural, looks badass. Would love to hear how anyone gets on with theirs when it arrives though!
  22. This is a good thread, loads of info and accounts of people who have owned/used GR amps/cabs.
  23. I’ve played a couple in GuitarGuitar, they are very good but there’s a lot of competition at that price point IMO. Bass Direct stock them too so worth a trip to try one out if you’re interested.
