  1. The SLO is a fantastic bit of kit. As well as being a tube preamp and DI, it’s has an effects loop, changeable cab sims and a headphone out. Having read the 280+ page preamp thread on another forum, I noticed it got nothing but love and took a chance. I’ve been selling multiple preamps recently but that one has stayed put. I have a Noble too, which is part of my desktop set up, but I’m about to build a new board around the SLO. They are a little difficult to get at the moment as they come from St Petersburg, but I spoke with Shiftline earlier this week; if you want to place an order it’s currently better to email than to try the site.
  2. Nice! Good price too. I have the HH version and it’s become my main bass. I’ve kept the pearlescent pickguard on as I like the contrast but it looks good in black too. GLWTS.

  4. I have one of these basses and my local luthier said I may as well sell all of the others because it's as perfect as it gets. These basses are incredible, the tone is phenomenal and this particular bass looks great in the pictures. Somebody should be biting your hand off for that price. GLWTS.

  6. @mrtcat I’ve PM’d you as I’m not sure on the BC demo policy. The Origin Effects Super Vintage is a fantastic bit of kit. It’s more of a one box solution, with DI and cabsims. I find it a bit awkward to run with my Noble as I prefer the Noble to be last in the chain but the features of the SV suggest that should be last. The combination of the SV and the tube from the Noble combine very well though. The SBVT doesn’t have the bells and whistles of the SV but its dual tubes mean that it automatically has the heft and sheer air-moving power that comes less naturally to the SV, even if the SV nails the SVT tone. As the Noble is a permanent part of my set up and I usually don’t like running tubes into tubes, the SBVT is getting less of a look-in. One other pedal to consider is the Shift-line Olympic MkIIIS. They’ve been difficult to get hold of as they’re made in Russia but I believe they will be exported again soon. These have a 12AX7 tube, XLR out, SD card changeable cabsims, headphone out and even an FX loop so you can get the SVT sound, tube heft, and not need to worry about where in the chain it’ll go (https://shift-line.com/olympic) Obviously, touting the Olympic on a sale thread for the SBVT is a bit odd but can you tell I don’t really want to sell my SBVT?
  7. Rob recently bought a couple of pedas from me and was great to deal with throughout. Communication was good and quick, and payment was prompt. The conversation was good too; great guy. Thanks and enjoy the pedals!
  8. Jim very kindly contacted me in connection with my wanted ad and was a real pleasure to deal with. Communication was great throughout and Jim seems like a really nice guy. The pedals were with me very quickly and had the most effective and complete packaging I’ve seen on pedals (and I‘ve bought a lot). The pedals were all in great shape too so I couldn’t be happier. Thanks!
  9. Ah, if only. I’ve been after a T-65 for ages (and apologies to all that have to keep seeing my wanted ads).
  10. One of my all time favourites is the Damnation Audio MBD2. I recorded sound samples for three people and they all went and bought one (which is saying a lot as my playing is terrible). Joespedals has them in occasionally. I’m not sure it can be said to not get attention though as it was reviewed by Hondo Felder on YouTube: My favourite at the minute is the Nightowl Parabellum v2. It’s a Nightowl Edison tube preamp and a Dunwich designed distortion. It’s one of the reasons I’ve put several pedals up in the classifieds. I’m not sure they’re on NOI’s website at the moment but I think the manufacturer is selling on Reverb at the time of writing. I also picked up an IdiotBox No Moon recently and that’s crazy, it houses a Big Muff, Rat and Tubescreamer and they all run in parallel, rather than series. I’m a Star Wars nerd, which is why I bought it (and why I’m looking for Cog pedals), but it’s actually good. That makes sense though as the IdiotBox Blower Box is also renowned (and apparently about to be supplemented by a deluxe version).
  11. Thanks! I really rate it too. I was totally sold by Hondo’s demo and it didn’t disappoint. I already had a fuzz I loved when I got it though and it just seems a shame to have it unused.
  12. I’ve not run mine into an amp yet. I may try that later today! I like my bass’ dry tone without cabsims etc so the Noble has been good for just warming that up.
  13. Congratulations to those with one on order too; enjoy it when it arrives!
  14. Mine cost about £230 more in fees so that sounds like the right ballpark. Don’t worry; you’ll be singing its praises (if you can believe a statement from someone else who may have been inclined to double down - people are always looking for them on the classifieds so you’ll be fine). Mine is now part of my permanent set up of four pedals and has replaced all but a couple of my tube-based pedals (they are also great but the Noble has pushed them aside).
  15. Very possibly! They are a nice touch. I’ll be listing a Sushi Box Fluffy Kitten too though and that runs it pretty close.
  16. I was actually A/Bing the two last week and they’re slightly different beasts. The SBVT is all heft and capable of being super loud and plenty gritty. I feel the notes when I use it. It’s more of a classic preamp pedal and allows using SVT gain tones without deafening people (unless you want to). The Bassrig is more of an (excellent) emulation tool. It sounds (rather than feels) like the SVT but it doesn’t give me the same giddy joy to use it as the SBVT. However, I often play through monitor speakers so the DI makes it attractive and the in-built cab sim tames the sound in a way I like that can’t be done on the SBVT without another pedal. If I can find my splitter I may be able to put together a demo of both pedals using the same signal. I’ve got a few demos of the SBVT kicking around if you’d like to hear them.
  17. Good question, I should have included that data. It’s pre, so the frequencies are those below. I gather Nathan at Sushi Box is revisiting the circuit again, as he seems to do from time to time, with the result that it’s not been possible to order one for a while (which is why I ended up having to pick this one up from Reverb). I’ve always found it to be plenty flexible though and generally stick with the same mids setting - the gain and bass controls are where the action is at with this pedal, in my opinion. I’ve recently taken delivery of a Noble and picked up Parabellum so my space for other tube pedals at the moment is slim. I love the SVT tone and I think the SBVT does a good job of achieving it, and in a way that gives a bit more heft (owing to the twin tubes) than that the solid state equivalents. 201 Hz 428 Hz 494 Hz 605 Hz 672 Hz 1.17 Khz 1.66 Khz 3 Khz
  18. I think you can cancel any time up to it being posted so if rates do look like they’ve gone haywire then you should be able to cancel. What you’ll get back is a whole other can of worms but, frankly, if the dollar and pound shift so much that it makes a massive difference then we’ll all probably have bigger things to worry about. Mine is on my desk next to me and is one of four pedals permanently in my chain. I’d highly recommend it and I’d like to note too that Jack offers a great service; he answered all of my queries both before buying the pedal and after it was delivered too, as well as recommending other pedals it may pair well with. I’ve got a few other tube preamps (five, I think) but the Noble is the one that stays, even though the others are all in what I would have considered the top tier had I not got a Noble.
  19. *De-listed owing to needing to a fill another B15 pedal shaped hole* Top spec hand-wired, hand-built Sushi Box Slampegg Bee Pre X tube preamp pedal in metallic flaked rainbow's end finish. Based on the Ampeg B15-N and running a 12AX7 to give tube heft and warmth to your tone. It runs at 9V or 12V (no difference in performance), with the pedal upping the voltage to 200V internally. Someone can get a bargain for a mint pedal (I've used it only to test it works), and all without having to wait or faff around with customs duties and import VAT. £245 boxed and posted to the UK.
  20. I received one in April back and the tax and duties payable on receipt came to just shy of £230. Mine was a non-rush order and I bought a few extra bits (case, tubes, cable etc) but that should be around the right ballpark. It’s part of my permanent set up now though so it was worth it to me.
  21. These have been out for a while - I think I got mine in November - but they seem to go out of stock a lot. If I recall correctly, there was due to be a limited restock last month but I don’t know if that happened. It seems to be in stock here though: https://www.fxpedal.co.uk/effects-c101/wah-c190/dunlop-electronics-dunlop-justin-chancellor-cry-baby-wah-guitar-effects-pedal-p5280/s5427?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=dunlop-electronics-dunlop-justin-chancellor-cry-baby-wah-guitar-effect-dun-jct95&utm_campaign=product%2Blisting%2Bads&cid=GBP&glCurrency=GBP&glCountry=GB The unit is extremely solid and well made so, compared to my other Wah-like pedals, this feels extremely robust. I like the fuzzes (so-called US-style and UK-style) that come out of it. To be honest though, I’ve not used mine much yet because I’ve been moving and my pedals are on a desk (which isn’t great for this type of pedal!). Still, Justin Chancellor had one in his set-up in the latest tour so it can’t be all bad. Perhaps someone else would like to chime in before I dig it out and record some demos. What tones are you hoping to get out of it?
  22. Flagship Boss ES-8 loop switcher and 18 40cm gold-plated Rockboard straight-to-angled cables. Turn your analogue pedals into a multi-effects unit by changing the order of your signal chain on the fly. I’m including enough cables (worth £100+) to use all 8 send and returns and the tuner, with a cable to spare. In near perfect condition and fully boxed with power adapter. £480 posted to the UK.
  23. Sushi Box FX are making a name for themselves in the US, with the same folks getting stuck into 3LEAF, Broughton and Iron Ether pedals raving about Sushi Box too. This is their top spec hand-wired, hand-built Space Heater tube preamp pedal in metallic flaked rainbow's end finish. The hand-wiring gives it greater headroom so the extra build time and effort are worth it. It’s designed to be used to add some flexible 12AX7 tube warmth to your tone using a small enclosure. It runs at 9V or 12V (no difference in performance), with the pedal upping the voltage to 200V internally. From the website: "There is some shared DNA with the Alembic F-2B. With the gain low you can crank the volume without it breaking up, though obviously is will push your amp HARD as it is a high output circuit. Add some gain and you can get varying levels of breakup, with a nice hairy drive when the gain is cranked." I recently bought a Noble so I’m moving on most of my tube pedals (as was said in another thread, for a pedal that expensive you have to commit!). I ordered this a couple of months before my Noble was due to be shipped but, because of the time Nathan at Sushi Box takes to create his pedals, the Noble actually arrived first. As a result, someone can get a bargain for a mint pedal (I've used it only to test it works) without having to wait or faff around with customs duties and import VAT (RRP for this version is $220 before postage, taxes and duties). £180 boxed and posted to the UK.
