1.
Hornsey (near Crouch End), of course I would be prepared to travel to the other side of London to get the best deal and service though.
Mate, there's a fella in Wood Green who specialises in Valve Amps down in Mayes Road, just behind the shopping city. He fixed my 5150 amp. He's pretty reasonable too. PM me and I'll give you his number.
2. These are great mics. I've got one and use it as a drum overhead. Takes all the guesswork out of phase issues and it also a great stereo mic for acoustic gutiars.
3. Are you interested in any trades at all ?
4. Pat Collier at Perryvale Studios is a superb engineer. Not cheap though. Around £300 a day but well worth it. For you area, there's one in Barnet which a mates band have used previously and the results are excellent. I'll need to find out the name of the studio though.
5. Anyone ? Come one, this is a great Russian made boutique pedal / pre-amp for a great price, far cheaper than if you were to buy one from the U.S.
6. I'm selling my AMT Electronics S1 Pre-amp Pedal (boutique pedal made in the Russian Federation) simply because I have two and don't need one of them. They're great pedals / pre-amps for both recording and live. You can use them plugged directly into your MIDI interface as they have a built in cab-sim which sounds great. You can also plug them into the effects return loop of your amp as an additional pre-amp (as that essentially what it is). Also, you can plug it directly into a power amp and you essentially have a great guitar rig. If that wasn't all, you could even get hold of an Electro-Harmonix 44 Magnum Power Amp pedal which again is essentially a great guitar set up. Just think - a back-up guitar amp in the form of two pedals - even use it as a main rig and you don't need to drive to gigs - get pissed and don't lose your license !!! Happy days... Review Here: http://www.jemsite.c...ics-S1/reviews/ Video Demo Here: This will come boxed with manuals and is in great nick. I'm looking for £55 plus postage. Payment via paypal with you paying the paypal fees. WOULD ALSO BE INTERESTED IN TRADING FOR DECENT QUALITY 12-STRING ACOUSTIC GUITAR (Lag, Vintage, Fender etc.).
7. Is it for live or recording ? I'm assuming its for live ?
8. Probably a bit late with this one but.... If your budget can stretch, a RODE NT4 mic is a good option. I got one for £250 secondhand. Its actually a two mics in one, set up in an X - Y config which is great for stereo mic'ing. This mic is usually used for drum overheards, choirs and acoustic sessions for a pro quality stereo recording. Well worth checking out.
9. Rockfield pre-amps that they fit to Traben and now BC Rich basses are the loudest pre-amps I have ever come across. Seriously loud basses.
10. This is what they look like - I have one and think they're great. Lot of space for pedals and no need to worry about power for the pedals either. Also has a section for a tuner too. Turns into a fully enclosed and padded case for easy transportation and protection of pedals:
11. The best amps ever. I've got a 5150 combo just like this only 60 watts and also a 6505+ head as well. I've yet to play a better amp for metal / hardcore / punk etc. Knocks Marshalls, Orange and Mesa amps into a cocked hat imo.
12. Jazz bass profile neck which tends to dive if you don't play it in the right position (i.e. high up and rest your elbow on the rear horn ala John Entwistle) and not dangling round your knees. I found the mahogany body to be too muffled and warm sounding for my liking. Mahogany is great for guitars but for basses I don't think it works well at all. If your playing rock i.m.o. there are much better basses to use (precision, Jazz with hot pickups, Traben Core basses, Ibanez SRX, etc). The Epiphone Thunderbird (older ones) are similar in looks only and sound completely different to a Gibson.
13. http://www.guitarpar...arts/index.html I kid you not... anyone tried them ? They look half decent and the components look pretty good too. Badass II and Sky Pickups designed by Kent Armstrong. http://www.willowsguitar.it/en/shop/catalogo_dettaglio_prodotto.asp?sIDarticolo=SABM Unfortunate choice of name though !!
14.
Just discovered this thread. LOVE that basstone WHUFC. Lovely and dirty.
That was my old Yamaha TRB going through an Ampeg SVT 4 and 8x10 cab. As you say it was a great sound and sadly I don't own a rig like that. The sheer weight of the thing would put me off, especially as I've got a nasty case of sciatica at the moment too
15. Is this Windows only ? I just downloaded it and the zip file contains a .dll file which I'm pretty sure a MAC won't recognise as a VST.
16.
Is 'Armoured Feather' the name of the manufacturer? I'm possibly looking for a similar kind of case and am not sure at the moment who makes them.
Its what it was described to me as. It doesn't bear any maker mark at all on the inside or outside. By the way, I sold this gig-bag / case this morning, so its not available any more unfortunately.
17. I have an old early 90s Trace Elliot 2x10 valve combo and its the heaviest amp I have ever owned. I've got a Peavey 5150 2x12 Guitar combo and its even heavier than that.
18.
Loved their 'Do anything you wanna do'
One of my favourite songs of all time. Seen them a few times live and they're great.
19. Hello mate, just sent the payment for £35 to you. Cheers. Ciaran
