  1. I've ordered twice from Bass Direct. Both times the items were shown as in stock but weren't. I wouldn't order from them again.
  2. I'm finding DR strings seem to be in short supply here but suppliers in Europe (Thomann etc) have plenty of stock. Finding the same at work, no stock of parts here, plenty in Europe.
  3. Be quiet and drive (far away) - Deftones
  4. SR800? I had one for a few weeks but it had issues with the preamp. Really nice to play and sounded great. Nothing like a Fender PJ
  5. Loser - Beck
  6. Apparently they're all still friends and the dude playing drums is still looking for his glasses.
  7. I think any idiot can upload tabs to Songster.
  8. Jonesing for Jones - Wildhearts
  9. According to a comment on the video, it was an open mike thing and the dude having a go at the drummer was another drummer who wanted to play. The dude looking for his glasses had them on his head.
  10. Conspiracy by the illuminati obviously. It's true though, they are always wrong. Some of the books are even worse than online tabs.
  11. Guitarist and bassist look like they're used to it. I'm guessing this wasn't a first for them.
  12. Bulls on parade - Rage Against The Machine Bugger. Replied to the wrong one. Excuse my incompetence
  13. F**k tha police - NWA
  14. Jet plane - Queens Of The Stone Age
  15. Flying whales - Gojira
  16. Stone the crow - Down
  17. Low and slow - Beastie Boys
  18. Cemetery Gates - Pantera
  19. That is a bummer. The biggest streaming platforms are the ones with the worst sound quality and pay the least to artists.
  20. Peter Steele of Type O Negative used to play a double bass on a strap (chain) while singing.
  21. Lemmy Troy Sanders of Mastadon Al Cisneros of Om, Shrinebuilder and Sleep Mike Kerr of Royal Blood Charles Michael Parks Jr of All Them Witches
  22. Rituals of the sun - Stoned Jesus
  23. A minor modification to help with my incompetence. Luminlay fret markers. I had them fitted by a local luthier. He's done a beautiful job, perfectly flush and in daylight you'd struggle to see that they're not just the original dots.

    What happened?

My first bass was an incredibly ugly Peavey International IV. Bought from BreadBin, some previous owner had brush painted it in cream gloss and splattered in in red, blue and green. I played it for 6 months before getting a replacement. I then stripped it back to bare wood, resprayed it in surf green, replaced all the electrics and gave it to my daughter who absolutely loves it and plays better than me.
  25. If you're playing certain styles of metal, you'd never use the G string and rarely use the D. It just gets too bright. I did use an Ibanez SR300 tuned BEAD for a while, it was OK but I replaced it with a 5 string Stingray which had better definition on the B string, possibly due to the bigger neck. I ended up taking off the G string since I never used it.
