  1. Angel Dust - Faith No More The first album where Billy Gould really showed the full range of his talent and versatility. The record blurs genres with bits of pop, heavy metal, lounge jazz and alternative rock mashed together in to something completely original. Paranoid - Black Sabbath Geezer Butler at his most creative and possibly the most influential metal album ever. And out come the wolves - Rancid Matt Freeman was absolutely on fire from the first note to the last on this album. About as far from typical punk bass as it gets. He combines elements of ska, rockabilly and punk in to something really special and in my opinion, the greatest punk album of all time.
  2. Blue Monday - New Order That's put an end to the Christmas songs. Let's have no more
  3. Making good progress with White Zombies Thunderkiss 65 today. Really, really good bass line and really fu to play. I find it really helps my motivation when my bass sounds good so I spent some time tweaking my compressor and preamp and got it sounding really good which I'm sure helped my progress.
  4. Don't worry, we don't let him buy more than one round at most and we let him know we appreciate it. We never let him drive because he's a bloody terrible driver!
  5. We have a chap in our team who doesn't drink or eat meat for religious reasons. He comes with us to the pub, has non alcoholic drinks and buys rounds including our booze. We respected his culture and he respected our lack of culture. Top bloke.
  6. I heard them recently just on an auto thing on Spotify. Really good, a lot of energy. Quite a lot of naughty words
  7. Thanks. I'll check that out tomorrow
  8. It's these bloody awful online training courses that we have to do. They are quite obviously just a box ticking exercise. Leave the video playing in the background while working then do the ridiculously easy test in about 2 minutes.
  9. I've been listening to quite a lot of dub and reggae this week. Playing bits and pieces. I seem to keep going back to Black Uhuru. Something about it just really works for me.
  10. I'm three quarters of the way there with Evidence by Faith No More. Absolutely loving playing this one. Also just playing around with bits of dub and reggae to try to understand it. Really enjoying it. Next up is Thunder Kiss 65 by White Zombie. Classic bit of 90's alt metal and a great bass line. https://youtu.be/yPNFVj-pISU
  11. I think that's probably very similar to the training we get. It's utter crap. We got it after "discriminating" against a team member because we didn't invite him for a night out. None of us liked him because we spend so much time putting right his incompetence.
  12. Is it much different to the straight edge scene in punk? They're vegan, don't drink, don't smoke and don't do drugs. Their music is usually very angry.
  13. Cerements of the flayed - Cannibal Corpse A lovely ballad. One to sing to your lover in a romantic moment.
  14. That was Homer Simpson (backing vocals by Bart) in one of the episodes where Lisa became a vegetarian.
  15. I've got a vegan, imitation leather strap. It looks very close to real leather but not as real as the bacon sandwich that would be in my other hand. My wife makes vegan horse riding equipment. Very popular at the moment. Veganism is very fashionable.
  16. I've not experienced over tones on either of my 5 strings (SUB Stingray and Sterling Stingray). The B string has a much darker, duller tone than the same notes on the E string but to be honest, I try to exploit that tonal difference.
