That's exactly the setup I have but with a Le Bass instead of bassrig. It's simple and does all I need. I used to think I needed fuzz and od and flanger etc, etc but I've decided simple is the way forward. The one thing I might miss if I swap the le bass for a bassrig is the clean, dirty and blended channel options.

I was hoping you'd say it's a sack of crap. Dammit, I might as well accept I'm going to buy one. Maybe it'll replace the Two Notes Le Bass

Is it as good as the demo videos seem to suggest?

For me it's a real easy choice. Super Vintage due to the super dirty SVT sound. I think that combined with a Stingray will be an amazing heavy metal tone.

Why would you leave Operation Ivy? All the members of that band were brilliant musicians. Maybe they weren't nice people.

The greatest ever punk bassist was Matt Freeman but he didn't come along until the late 80s with Operation Ivy

JJ was definitely better later on but in the late 70 and early 80's I'd say Simonon was better. Not that it really matters. The bass tone on Peaches was absolute filth though and it was one of those simple but absolutely brilliant bass lines.

He's quite small. I saw him live with Them Crooked Vultures. Josh Homme makes most people look short so I didn't think he was short until the end of the Show Dave Grohl stood next to JPJ and he's definitely short.

Well this isn't going to help my bank balance. I've already got the Cali76 bass compressor and I was looking for a really decent overdrive. It's hopeless trying to resist.

I couldn't get past the first five minutes. What a crap demonstration. Most of what I heard was just strings clattering against frets. Maybe they should have tried different grades of fret wire for a tone comparison. Like a bloody filing cabinet falling down a fire escape. A nice simple, repetitive walking bass line is what was needed here to give time to clearly hear each note.

Jesus H Christmas. How much??? I know someone who paid considerably less for one of his guitars only 5 or 6 years ago.

If it was £500 cheaper I'd consider thinking about it and then I'd throw it in a drawer and never wear it.

I didn't know he'd died. That's a huge loss to music. Mark made some incredible music, solo and with many bands. He had an amazing voice. I'm now listening to this. Mark Lanegan at his very best.

I have just started running again in an effort to become less voluptuous. I really hate running but it shifts weight fast. Anyway, I have discovered that Cult of Luna's new masterpiece played loud can actually drown out the experience of running. It's an absolutely brilliant record which brings a sense of apocalyptic doom right from the drum intro right to the last note.
