Played finger style down where most of us play I can tell u exactly how it sounds....but I wont.

My days of earning from this caper are long gone so now it's nothing. Chromes on my P bass are 17 yrs old and very nice....they may even do another 17, well see, if Im still around that is.

For me its all about my No 1 tone and not bass so much tho after years of this and that its basically any old P bass with dead chromes as I just know that out in the room that dry biting lower mid bark is tearing peoples ears off.

Just had a listen and it sounds suspiciously like something from a long time ago...Cant think off hand what tho... So maybe BD was covering the original and not her "cover".

Im pretty sure it was in a Ron Carter book, so its probably more jazz than blues. I down loaded it from the internet years ago ..Just an idea.

Found two different bands in the last four yrs with JMB. Seems a pretty good site. One for drums, the other bass.

Guy from around our way I think has got his Cornettos and Corneolis in a muddle. Heard the Godfather theme the other night...haha twas very funny.

Just had a look. That looks very nice indeed if it's the right weight. They were very well made. Looks better than the Fender 71 there in cream. Ive never come across one yet between 71 and 73 that has the bridge like that in the right place....

Those PB-70's are the biz next to the Mex RW which appear to be unobtainum at the mo....no ones selling them...not surpirsed. Also don't disregard the CV70's P either if you can stand the Squire Fender style logo. The only non Fender copy with the thick ole 70's neck. Ive got one..it may well be a keeper.

So now they go out all cuddly and safe playing predictable old blues numbers so as not to offend anyone...yet Brown Sugar has become the Devils anthem and is not to played, or even uttered by anyone, but thats the Stones I love. Young, dangerous and unpredictable. All they are now is a vehicle for cynical Micks bank balance which in itself is pretty obscene seeing as they're all worth gazillions. As for Rodders...dear oh dear, bu them Im still stuck listening to the glorious Maggie Mae/Wear It Well...brilliant

Some weird existential strangeness going here. If this carries on bands will gradually become less and less of the performers and performance their supposed to be and judging by the current trend for crowds to seemingly put on the usual ..me, me, me, show at festivals Ive seen recently, tis the crowd which are becoming the performance.

So Glastonbury is just one big Karaoke event. You could not make it up. Be cheaper and easier to have holograms of ur favourite bands, save a whole lot of hassle and money ...Oh sorry its marketed as a "live music event", silly me.

In the nicest possible way I can think of I actually wish they'd just go away. Grew up with them, love everything with a passion up until about 84 and have absolutely no desire to hear them hacking thru the blues catalogue just because they can...And without Charlie, well..whats the point anyway.

The dep was to cover for his bassist who was on holiday. I left to pursue drums which I'd packed in years ago..It was perfectly amicable, in fact they tried to hang on to me. So at rehearsals he was hugely welcoming and chatty. However he and his wife go back a long way with my recent long term ex and I turned up at gig with my new woman in tow...Maybe it finally dawned on him that he felt some weird conflict....

Haha...should have said one was his daughter the other her friend. But I've known him for years on and off, real friendly guy....There you go.

Depped last summer for one outdoor gig in a band I'd played with before but hadn't seen them for four years. They seemed pleased to see me again and rehearsals went well and the gig was a non event. The vid play back, I sounded pretty good, maybe over played a bit but hey.....and (I'm old but move around a lot too, smiling...I find it easy, but hey) Anyway played the last song, everyone gradually said thanks during the breakdown but the singer kinda avoided me and just wandered off with the two female bk vox. No "cheers for helping us out X..nice playing etc, grt to see you again, must do this again etc"...None of it. Beats me, maybe he got a call or something. Just a bit weird.

Thats right. Wet wild and crazy, totally un-sanitised and here's the best bit and its a bit radical. What you heard out front was exactly what they were playing on stage....Its true but it used to be that way.

Im sorry but that thing by 'The Ministry'? above should have been put down at birth. Get just a tad annoyed when those with no talent at all muck around with great works from the great and the good. Its like punking up a Bach Minuet....why would you do it, what is the cover artist trying to prove? Show the tune and the creator the respect it deserves. Anyway that Manfred Mann version sounds good, never heard it before...Nice nod to the original vibe.

Easy, it represents the 70's, the greatest era of music ever. TV Ads aimed at young people playing 70's music, loops, samples..its all 70's. When I got my 120 bass amp in 1978 and 2x15 parabolic bin it was just so flippin cool, and that little funny logo...brilliant.
