Couriers (yet again)... a new one on me - handling charges.
warwickhunt replied to warwickhunt's topic in General Discussion
I've used Interparcel for years and recently I've used PF as I don't use their insurance (I take out 3rd party) and I've had no issues with almost identical items. I did have a thought last night; I dropped this off at my local post office and when I did so the teller asked me to stand the box off to one side of the counter (public side) as they didn't have room for boxes of that size (there was another cuboid large box already where she indicated). I do wonder if that is where their claim is coming from. I think I'm on safe ground as that PO was the nearest suggested by Interparcel on the booking site and the staff member scanned in and accepted the package. I could be wrong and it might be unrelated. I'll update as and when. This is probably more of a warning to always photograph your package before sending it (luckily the recipient had the box I used, so we could prove how it was packaged). -

I went back to check my invoice Rob and I should apologise to Evri as it was Parcelforce 48 that I booked and the dimensions were 110 x 48 x 13 -

I input the dimensions of the outer packaging (short scale bass) and Interparcel gave me the option of Evri. If they have mis sold me their service it'll be interesting to see where they go with this one. We'll see what they say. -
Sent a bass 2 weeks ago with Evri 48hr, booked through Interparcel (but insured via Securus). The bass was double boxed in 'exactly' the same double walled (x2) boxes that the manufacturer delivered in. It went off no probs via my selection in Interparcel and was delivered FIVE days later. Now that 3 day delay isn't the issue; I was miffed at the service but the buyer received it safe and sound and was over the moon with the bass. Fast forward 2 weeks and I receive an email from Interparcel stating I owed £25 because: "An additional charge has been applied due to non-standard packaging, which required manual handling by the carrier. This includes items that are irregularly shaped, cylindrical (e.g. tubes, carpets), packaged with cling film, bubble wrap, string, or excessive tape, or placed in bags or sacks. These types of packaging do not meet the carrier’s automated processing requirements." At first I thought 'scam' but the address to reply/pay looked right. I contacted Interparcel and they say the claim is brought by Evri against me. I'm obviously going to contest it but it might be worth folk being aware that these are not phishing scams but appear to be Evri chancing their arm for extra fees. Oh and here is the irregular packaging.

The MXR MC403 CAE Power System, developed in collaboration with Bob Bradshaw, is engineered to deliver clean, silent, and reliable power to nearly every effect pedal on the market. Designed by some of the top engineers in musical electronics, this power supply is built to handle the toughest pedalboard setups with ease. With eight 9-volt DC outlets, four 18-volt DC outlets, two adjustable DC voltage outlets, and two 9-volt AC outlets, the MC403 provides more than enough power for even the most demanding rigs. Whether you're gigging or recording, this power system ensures your pedals perform at their best, without the worry of noise or power issues. MXR MC403 CAE Power System Features: Pedalboard power supply built for the rigors of the gigging musician 8 x 9-volt DC power outlets for standard pedal designs 4 x 18-volt DC power outlets for higher-demand pedals 2 adjustable DC voltage outlets for fine-tuning performance 2 x 9-volt AC power outlets for added versatility All multi-tap DC outputs are completely isolated, linear regulated, and short-circuit protected to insure reliable operation Enclosed in a heavy-duty housing. Rarely used but I did house it under a pedalboard and I've misplaced the screws that weren't required (doesn't affect anything). What you see in the pics is what you get in full working order (+ mains cable).

My go to DI pedal for a lot of years but I'm now using IEM and using an alternative dedicated pedal. No damage, no issues, just a bit of velcro attached to the base. Much more than just a direct box, the SansAmp Bass Driver DI is capable of dialing up big vintage tube tones, bright modern slap sounds, gnarly distortions, and all in between. Three different outputs to drive power amps, recording desks, PA mixers, or simply enhance your current rig. Controls include Presence for definition and upper harmonic content; Blend to combine the proportion of direct signal and SansAmp circuitry; and active EQ specifically tuned for bass with 12dB of cut or boost. THE CONTROLS The controls offer a broad range of traditional bass amp sounds, including such meaty styles as Bassman® and SVT®, as well as raunchy, crunchy overdriven sounds that would typically require a multitude of effects units. PRESENCE controls the amount of definition and upper harmonic content. DRIVE adjusts the overall gain structure and overdrive. LEVEL regulates the XLR and effected 1/4″ output levels. BLEND allows you to mix the direct bass signal with SansAmp Tube Amplifier Emulation circuitry (which is particularly useful for basses equipped with piezo pickups). BASS & TREBLE are active EQ controls, specifically tuned for bass guitar, that cut or boost +/- 12dB. For studio and live applications, SansAmp Bass Driver DI is engineered with three outputs: an effected XLR, and effected 1/4″, and a parallel, uneffected 1/4″. The footswitch activates the Tube Amplifier Emulation circuitry. Disengaging the circuitry enables you to use SansAmp Bass Driver DI as a standard active transparent direct box. Sample style settings include Bassman®, SVT®, King’s X, Slap, Reggae, Crimson. Settings are also included for Chapman Stick and Acoustic guitar.

Excellent condition with no issues. It is soft aged at the factory. Has been modified with a J pup at the bridge position (DiMarzio) and the controls are presently Vol / Pan (no tone control as I've never seen the point!). I should have put the scratchplate back on, I do have it here and it will be included. Super low action. NECK - 6 bolted / Canadian hard rock maple FRETBOARD - Pau Ferro fretless SCALE - short scale, 30″ FINISH - aged: alder body HARDWARE - aged Sandberg PICK UP - 1 sandberg black label split coil + 1 DiMarzio Jazz PREAMP - passive, volume, pan WEIGHT - 3.26kg / 7lb 3oz Trades - 34" scale Sandberg (light weight).

Warwick Streamer Stage I Year – 1991 Colour – Purple sparkle/metallic Body Finish – Gloss Body Wood – Maple Neck Finish – Gloss Neck Wood – Maple Fretboard – Wenge Frets – 24 Scale Length – 34″ Weight – 9lbs (exact) Electronics – Active 3 band MEC Pickups – MEC PJ Condition - excellent with no visible marks of note and all electronics work fine. This was a custom finish (factory) and on the rear of the bass under the clear lacquer to coat is the legend ‘This instrument is a property of Warwick, Germany’. It was used at NAMM and also as a demo bass for Warwick artists/endorsers. The sound is just about as big and clear as you can get! Only trade might be a light weight Sandberg 34".

However one of the tuning peg ends has sheared off and needs a replacement… weirdly that string is still perfectly in tune 8 months after that peg sheared and I played the Newcastle City Hall gig (video below) at Christmas 2024 without the tuner! In fact Google Cheat Trick (Cheap Trick Tribute) to hear recordings and live examples of this bass.

I should have clarified that the MiPro has stereo combi inputs so if I was taking Aux outs (x2) they'd be going to L / R inputs on the transmitter.

Did not know that. If I went TRS>XLR lead?

Explain PA setups to me like I'm an idiot
warwickhunt replied to proy900's topic in PA set up and use
With regard to power ratings etc (speaking in simple terms), you'll be fine... so long as you don't whack the desk sliders to max! Start off at zero and bring it up gradually, if the speakers start to complain/fart, you've reached the speaker's max level but I'm confident they should give you enough volume before then. Set with your EQ flat and don't start cranking the bass, that can push speakers. -
Sandberg Electra VS4 active/passive switch.
warwickhunt replied to fender52000's topic in Bass Guitars
You'd think so... but I just sold one of the new version Electra and it could not be switched; it was active only! It doesn't help the OP unfortunately.
