2.
the rock the roll peace c
No No No No that is so wrong. I got the UFO track in milliseconds (the rock) but listened to the second snippet (the roll) thinking it was the Spin Doctors... then realisation dawned!
 3. Oh yes but unfortunately/fortunately most of the recordings of me would be rendered useless as they are so old that they are black and white and predate sound recording. In fact Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd moved the film industry on after we recorded ourselves
 4.
hey wot, i am loving the new cab, cant wait to gig it on sat. only downside is the serious gas i have for an mpulse! cheers Geoff

That looks absaloutly stunning, Like, really. 5. As an odd twist... A colleague at work was in a relationship with the lead singer! I missed the programme (as did she; she had no idea that they were on) does anyone know if it is on any form of freeview/iPlayer/youtube?
 6. If you intend keeping the strings to possibly refit at a later date (which is quite valid if they are fairly fresh) then give them a good wipe with some form of string cleaner (at a push use a cloth sprayed with WD40), this will take any sweat/skin/crud off and then put them in some kind of packaging (a paper bag, the kind you've probably just thrown away that your strings came in would be good ). If you don't clean them you 'may' well find they are a bit cruddy next time you get them out (depending on your sweat and how how much use they got).
 7.
You got a Wal? you going all geddy?
Get a grip Dave... I'm going all giddy never mind Geddy!
 8.
Hi guys and gals, I've been listening to Janek Gwizdala's 'Mystery to Me' album a lot over the past year and really love his tone on it. I understand that he's using a Wal on this album, not his Fodera. I was wondering if this barky/grunty tone was typical of Wal basses? Also, being someone who's not really had any happenings with a Wal, nor any knowledge of them, what kind of different things can i expect from the Mach I, II and III models? And what's the difference between the pro's and the custom models etc? Any info on them would be great thanks. Jamie
I've got a 2 pup Wal (birds eye maple top and back) on appro at the moment and I have to say that it is quite 'parpy'... don't you just love the way we describe what we hear I wouldn't say it was as grunty or growly as my Warwicks it has a different tone to anything I've ever had before (I had a Wal many years back and it sounded exactly the same even though my first was a shaduka top). Even though the push pull pots change the tone (love playing wah/wah with the tone controls ) it is still inherently mid biased and the core tone of the bass alters what I play and how. Sorry it's not been much use but my experience has been that a Wal has a very individual tone and I can't coax a Fender sound out of it if I try.
 9. We once got booked to do a Steel-yard/Ship-builders end of contract gig... turned out to be the shed/aircraft hangar that they build ships in The scaffolders had erected a 'kin huge stage at one end and the (free) bar was at the other. What an experience to forget... lord please let me forget It was easily the size of a football pitch and then some. They'd booked some PA company to do the sound, unfortunately they underestimated the power required to make a good job. Best proper real stage was the Mayfair @ Newcastle. The smallest stage - far too many to even consider picking the smallest!
 10.
Looks a lot like a Warwick this
I've never ever made the comparison... but seeing as how I owned this bass and would dearly love it back (finances are in check unless I sell my bike), maybe you see more than I do
 11.
Is the sale of this still pending?!!
Just incase WoT is busy... I hope he won't mind me fielding the question for him but I'm 99.99% certain that this was sold to another BCer
 12. Hey it could just be me but does this amp design look familiar to anyone? http://cgi.ebay.de/Meteoro-800-MB-400-Watt...1QQcmdZViewItem
 13. He's photographed the headstock and neck but not the all important body... WHY?
 14. The manager seems a bit of a pr*ck IMHO! Wonder if the tenner would have gone through the till As you say, he isn't offering you a brand new piece of packaging specifically ordered in for you to ship your bass in. They no doubt have to pay to have the cardboard taken away so you are doing them a favour. I have to confess that my local Sound Control (RIP) happily sorted me a box out, to the point that they went out to the bins to retrieve the best one. Soundslive also supplied me with a heavy duty box in order that I could ship a bass Internationally, I did buy a case from them but that was neither here nor there as I'd already asked if they had a box I could have.

 16.
Wow There's some good bits on there for projects .. Knobs for 4.6 Euro? That's about £3.50, or am I missing something Stack knob sets for about £4? http://shop.warwick.de/product_info.php/in...-2-pieces-.html
Nope... that's the honest price for replacement Warwick parts! OK you have to add on P&P but it's reasonable and if you are buying a whole bunch of stuff then costs are distributed. I'm buying a few bits and bobs next week (grub screws, bridge saddles etc) so I'll let you know what the service is like
 17.
This time tomorrow I'll have two
You getting this one?

http://www.thomann.de/gb/schaller_m4a_ebassmechanik.htm That's nothing compared to what they'd like to get for them: http://www.bassguitarpartsdirect.co.uk/sho...2+Bass+Machines I appreciate that it's tough to get started, and even tougher to compete against the buying power of a large, well established company.
Of course the biggest kick in the teeth is that you can buy the Warwick ones direct from the Warwick shop for about £4.50 each (+P&P)! 19. Unfortunately there is no replacement for displacement so you are 'never' going to get the kick that a big multiple driver cab can give without... loads of drivers It's always going to be a compromise and though I'd dearly have loved to get a couple decent sized 2x10s as my gigging backline, I've settled on a pair of Aggie 1x12s which, though they'll never give me the trouser flap of my 6x10 they give me sufficient ooomph to be a standalone rig when not using PA support. They have sufficient volume to give enough bottom end without being overly large to transport. You probably already know the number of quality cabs that are available and I've no doubt everyone will have a different suggestion. The Aggies combined with my Thunderfunk give me a full sounding punchy tone but they aren't the cleanest neutral sounding cabs in the world but then I've come to realise that a neutral transparent tone isn't what I want
 20.
Hi guys, Picked up an AG500 last week and i'm not 100% sure it's for me yet, so i thought i'd see if there's any interest... It's the dual channel version and comes with the foot switch. There's some very light scuffs on top, nothing out of the norm, nor too deep or of any concern. I haven't got any pics yet, but as i say, it's feeler. Looking for £570 which is what it owes me after fuel and what not. I'm in Grantham, Lincs. if anyone wants to have a go on it. Thanks Jamie
I saw that and wondered how it would compare to the Thunderfunk! Can you give any insight?

 22. Most wood care products work for caring for your 'W' bass. I've used various producats and it's a case of trial and error to get the one that feels/smells right for you Just out of interest the bass is natural and not sealed... if the latter waxing is not necessary (other than a bit of oiling/waxing of the neck/fingerboard 'should' it need it).
 23.
I always go wireless - does that protect me? I assumed it did if the amp had double insulation like most domestic electrical goods.
Wireless is obviously keeping you isolated so long as you don't intend touching another single piece of kit; yours or PA. However, it doesn't stop your kit getting damaged!
 24.
was that the one I got off you ?
??? ??? Good point Mark... was it pre-Bassworld days? I thought the first time we met was when I bought your EBS cabs, did you buy it off me before or after the cabs? I remember mine being a nicer deeper all round burgundy rather than a burst effect as the one on eBay. Help me out here mate my memory is shyt
