The trans-white finish is particularly stunning. Any close-up shots, warwickhunt?
Just snapped a couple, I'll stick it in the Sado Porn thread.
Did you get it from Sadowsky direct? Im just shocked and also pondering why they are cheaper than there normal metro basses. Is it due to it being a new model?
I got the Sadowsky by way of a 3 way deal with Chris 'Beedster'. I'm not so sure that it is cheaper than their 'normal' Metro basses; last time I saw one advertised new (and they aren't easy to source) it was only slightly less than the UV which was the most expensive Metro and more expensive than the MV/RV/RS.
BTW. was the Sadowsky used a NYC or a Metro? IMO the NYCs I've played sound plenty good enough on their own without needing any help from the pre-amp.
Metro; the preamp had a midge's nadger of bass and treble boost only because that's how I like it set and that's how it was when it was handed to WoT.

Hmmm... I guess the action on the Sadowsky may not come as a surprise considering comments in another thread but here goes; Sadowsky Metro 'PJ', (I 'think') Sadowsky blues .040, .060, .080, .110: 0.8mm, 1.5mm, 1.5mm Ahem... I'll stop trying to get mine lower I think! -
Corrected that for you. This is the Barefaced forum after all! Alex
Any chance you could photoshop some of those tatty old Fender basses out of your 'Barefaced' thread... you'd think bass hadn't moved on in the last 50/60 years!
Here's the link for the 77 Ray in the Oxford Guitar Gallery - this is a nice one indeed, i should know i take the photos for the OGG website specials pages, so get to play them all http://oxfordguitargallery.com/Specials/Default.aspx Cheers Fishman
There doesn't appear to be any images of basses on the site never mind the Ray! Oh and please... a tad insulting having an image of a Spector guit*r instead of a bass when you click on the Spector bass link!

Not wishing to derail this thread but are HK anything to do with Hughes and Kettner? It isn't just the initials that has me asking; they are both German based and HK literature mentions 'Dynaclip' (tm) limiting which I thought was trademarked to H&K! <edit> A ha! Just noted HK are based in St Wendel in Germany which IIRC is where H&K are based... may have answered my own question.

Not mine, nor nowt to do with me but as it looks a bit of a BIN bargain, I'll not be urinating on anyones bonfire if I flag it up. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Peavey-210txv-bass-t...id=p3286.c0.m14 He also has an unloaded 1x15 cab for the same price; handy if you have a 15" driver spare and you are collecting the 2x10 any way!

I think my Hartke LH1000 has died already!
warwickhunt replied to chris_pokkuri's topic in Amps and Cabs
As you say it could be one or the other so if you have access to another cab and amp it'll be a doddle to establish if it is amp or cab but if it is the amp then a repair should be done under warranty. -
In a desperate hope to save me having to sell my warwick i'm putting this up for sale, trace Elliot AH250smx head 2x10h cab 1x15 cab All in mint condition & with all cables & manual, only used in my bedroom (I have the 600 version for live work £600 the lot: i'll try & take some pics tomorrow & put the on here
Paging Mr.T... paging Mr.T! -
I have a Tech 21 Trademark 60 1x12 guitar combo that I use in the house (keep the input/drive gain right down, scoop the mids and use the output gain for master volume) and I have to say that the tone at house volume is superb (even with a couple of guitarists giving electro-acoustics a good thrashing)! I am under no delusion that as soon as I turned up the wick I'd lose the thick warm punchy tone as it turned into overdrive but at this volume I bet it would record great with a quality mic or with the Tech 21 balanced DI. As you say, sometimes the strangest things just work!
-
Nope, the aesthetics are lost on me, that looks U.G.L.Y. Sorry! Though it does explain why it is in pristine condition... the owner was too embarrassed to take it out.
Thanks for all your suggestions but sadly none of them are what im looking for. So I have decided to get a "normal" bass with 20/22 frets and keep my bass with the 24 frets. Best of both world i think! Im thinking of getting a Lakland Joe Osborn. I have tried a skyine and loved it but im going to go for the US model. My only consern is that the skyline was REALLY quite. With all the nobs up full and the amp up loud it was still nowhere near as loud as it should have been. The tech ran it through something that tells what the output is and he said that it was no where near as high as it should be, he didnt know why this was ether. Im wondering if this is a problem that all Lakland basses have or if this bass had something wrong with it. Does anyone know about this kind of thing? Thanks Andy,
I owned a Skyline JO4 and there was nothing wrong with the output; it was comparable to a USA Jazz and an EMG equipped Squier I had at the time (very different basses but I am talking perceived output from the 3), it also stacked up similar to my other fully active basses... I assume you had a duffer!
I love these but sadly it would kill my back in an instant. Fabulous though.
Like the man said, I've also admired these since the first time I saw one reviewed but weight is weight to us owld fellas and this would kill me! Good luck with the sale though.
Those Fenders seem reasonable for 60s ones. Wonder where he gets them all?
Well one of those P basses rang bells, so I know where one 'may' have come from... further research req'd.
If you're selling on this forum then it's probably a good idea to let mods/admin take a look.
Never thought for one minute it might be generated from an ad on here. It looks the typical eBay / Gumtree scammer communication.
-
Stick it up for sale on here, ebay and the local ads and someone somewhere will take it if the price is right, no idea what you are selling so I've no idea if £200 or £2000 is fair! If you receive any further messages like the one you have mentioned, just remember; 'if it sounds too good to be true... it is!' and then walk away. Unless you do the right level of research, you may miss the odd bargain or missed opportunity but you'll save in the long run by not being ripped off.
Ah, this has got me thinking about my old Trace 1153, now. I loved that cab... am I right in thinking it didn't have a horn?
I had one of those (or was it the same one MB?) and it didn't have a horn.
