1. Driver/cab specs are so often misguided/misquoted that I tend to take no notice of any of them; saying that I'd not blind buy just any old cab. If you break down the specs on just about any driver/cab you'll find that very little adds up. Though I've no experience with the new SL cabs from Aguilar, I do have a pair of the DB12 cabs and despite the fact that I'm sure that you could pull the design and/or spec apart and show that they are only rated at 100w and their limits can be met way before the quoted specs; they work for me, in my band setting, with my amp and cab, played with my fingers, listened to with my ears... ultimately that is all that matters!
 2.
Popular working band URGENTLY require a professional standard, grooving bass player with the ability to sing close harmonies. The band covers many genres and so needs a versatile player with ability, knowledge and background experience that allows him/her to switch effortlessly between a variety of playing styles....definitely not a plectrum rock gig All work is paid, gig venues are varied - mostly in the North East but some travelling required. Obviously own transport and pro equipment are essential here. Please get in touch asap with contact details for more info
Can you send me more details please!
 3.
I've played this and its VERY lovely. Just sayin'.
It's playing even better now MB... I had a couple of hours spare so I went through and fettled a few basses, nothing major just some string changes (different gauges/makes) meant that a couple of basses needed rod tweaks etc and I was well impressed with how the PRS responded. I thought I'd give the PRS a bit more set-up as the neck had very little (almost flat) relief in because I've just been noodling in the house on it; However, I had Kev (Bucket) around (lots of complimentary comments re. you) and he's a bit heavier handed than me so he had the bass making the occasional rattle with some RHCP stuff. Literally an 1/8 of a turn on the rod and I had an action as low as any of my basses with no buzz.
 4.
Have a look at my gibson les paul m8 its got a small body allmost jazz type neck and balances great?IN BASS GUITAR SALES
Thanks for the offer but not for me thanks. New pics added in the first post!
 5.
Don't get it. If he didn't want to sell at that price why accept your offer?
Tell me about it! Though it really bugged me initially, I've realised that some people just don't care and me getting wound up about it wasn't going to get me the bass or make him feel any worse, so I simply left negative feedback and moved on.
 6.
i cant get my head around why Sadowsky is charging the same as an NYC but its made in Japan..??
Hmmmm... coz it's a Sadowsky!
 7. A quote from RS himself "The Sadowsky TYO line is for sales only within Japan."!
 8. Yep, defo one of my 'WANT' basses but I can't justify a new one just in case I don't get on with it. Just as a matter of interest... do you know what it weighs (actual weight, not Dingwall stated)?
 9.
I don't understand the "hate" for Later on here.
I genuinely "like" watching 'Later...'! That is not a p*ss take, I genuinely do; it might have atrocious sound at times (especially at the start of the show while the work experience lad sorts the sound out) and some of the bands you do have to wonder about but I'm not knocking the show... just thought it worth a mention. I personally wondered if Dave Bronze had a pained expression and was sticking to a single note because he was wondering if EC's capo had knocked him out of tune!
 10.
... but the Superfly head is making a weird whirring sound like an old kettle. Must be a dodgy fan or something.
Nope, not a dodgy fan. I'm afraid it is a known fault with some of the Superfly heads. If you do a Google or maybe even BC search you may pull up various stories but can't remember for the life of me if it is even fixable!
 11.
Thought the same thing, it sounded all wrong. Horrible guitar sound too. (was that Dave Bronze on bass?) they all looked very bored.
twas indeed DB and I think the limited bass input was a God send!
 12. Not very often that I feel compelled to think 'wtf' but what was that first track all about! I may not be a Blues fan but as a musician I thought I'd appreciate at least something about that track... Nope!
 13. I know that 'The Bass Doctor' and 'Wateroftyne' can probably give a better idea of the various differences in profile of early Fender necks but from personal experience the necks that I've tried either from genuine 60's basses or their accurate reissues are slimmer profile than those of the 70's basses (or their reissues). As to exactly 'how' much different they are I'll leave that to the fenderheads... after all I like those fugly Warwick basses personally!
 14.
Customs charges will be about 20%. I have imported about 6 instruments now and it's not a big deal.
I realise that you've imported 6 times but is it not closer to 25%? I've imported 3-4 times and I reckoned all told (inc' the scandalous 'handling' charge by the UK end of the delivery) on a £1000 bass I've ended up paying closer to £250 than £200 in various fees and duties. The last one was a couple of years ago so fees may have changed.
 15.
This seems like a great amp. 2 power sections, huge output and only 1u! Suprised there haven't been any comments on it! Out of my price range but very interestiong nonetheless!
Probably no comments because most of us who know what it is are sitting sighing saying "shame about the price!".
 16.
How much does the bass weigh please Thanks
With my track record you'd have thought I might include that statistic! It weighs a very precise 8lb 12oz
 17. That'd be no use to me... it doesn't go low enough for my action!
 18.
All I've got up for trade at the moment is this Vester Clipper....thought I'd throw it out there, but guessing there would need to be a bank breaking cash adjustment in your favour for a PRS?
'Fraid I'd want a fair wedge of cash as well but worse than that... "It's a great sounding bass with the heavy solid body"! That word 'heavy' just kills any trade dead I'm afraid.
 19.
£100 for some electrics work and a pot?? Jeez, what luthier are you going to? lol Si
If he needs to get the U-Retro replaced/repaired and it isn't under any form of warranty that'd be your £100 right there!
 20. Was it sold on here or eBay? Is there/was there damage to the packaging to indicate the bass may have taken a bash? Did the recipient sign for the delivery as being checked or unseen? No matter the answers to the above it's always an absolute bumm3r when stuff like this happens!
 21. Buy something you like/love because at the end of the day it is a gamble, you may as well stick your money in Premium Bonds... not saying they are a good 'investment' but your money is still your money (less inflation) and you have a chance to win more money; in fact a chance to win a LOT more money that an investment instrument! To expand on the gamble analogy. Who knows what particular instrument will be worth more in years to come, maybe Fenders, Gibbos, Alembis, Warwicks, Squier CV's, who knows but the worst thing is that even if you buy the right instrument (i.e. vintage Fender), what happens if the body develops a split, it falls off a stand when you are admiring it, pick-ups corrode, the case you have it stored in has some epoxy resin/glue that reacts with the paint finish! Never mind investment, your initial savings are up the creek. Just out of interest, what sort of return are you hoping for over what period of time? 5% would be pretty damn good I'd say; so if you bought a £3000 bass in a years time it'd be worth £3150 so you've made £150 profit... with the potential that your investment has gone down 5% and you've lost £150. In the meantime a bloke on eBay has bought a cheap Squier/Encore bass for £70, cleaned it and put a Fender sticker on it and sold it (as a declared fake) for £140... he's had a bit of fun messing about with guitars, made £70 in a week and with little real gamble made 100% profit from his investment. Which one makes more sense if you are talking 'investment' and 'profit'? Does anybody now want to start talking other ways of investing money; stocks and shares etc. If you want to talk investment and profit rather than musical instruments for pleasure (as WoT has described his 'investment'), there are many and varied ways of making money. Buy something you want!
 22.
I would like to get hold of this one as I desperately love the Maple necked ones - Although I can clarify that WHs is in fact an Alder body as is clearly a three piece and identical to mine- The Swamp Ash bodies are 2 piece and very rare and I probably own the only 2 in the UK!
Best you start saving Bob... this is 2 pieces! Not yanking your chain but I've scrutinised this for the last 15 minutes under various lights and it is centre jointed 2 piece; you can trace various wood striations to see there are no further joints other than the centre one. So I own 1 of the only 3 in the UK... bet I still can't get a trade!
 23.
Haha! Yep, I bet you had loads of people turning up to the gig just wanting to hear/see your PRS bass
Oddly enough we played last night and one guy (the bassist in a local band) did ask where my PRS was! At the time I was too busy sorting out the PA for the 2nd set to realise what he'd said so didn't ask why the question!
 24. The clocks go BACK not forward type bump!
 25.
cheers mate. don't have the money quite yet but thanks anyway yeah, as I said, i'm more inclined to buy a second hand EBMM Stingray, the price difference for a new is quite a lot, but again, I would get to choose exactly what I want, i'm confused now ...i reckon it's better if i save around £800 and then just start the hunt for a used one with the specs I want. will be a difficult task though
If Maple hadn't been such a no-no you'd have had about £100 change out of your £800 budget with this one!
