1. My basses have been suspended by neck hangers mounted on the wall for the last 20+ years and never had a problem!
 2. The sound matches the looks!
 3.
This guy seems very well regarded. Haven't used him myself though... http://www.dwilsonguitars.com/
I've known and used Dave many times (as have lots in NE/NW), he isn't the cheapest but he is very good!
 4. Certainly wouldn't think that it isn't a genuine cheapy Yamaha (were these about £110 new?) and I've given away better basses to charity... £20-£30 I reckon!
 5. I had to read the description before I realised what the body of the bass represented... and I bought the album when first released!
 6.
Well that's well and truly told me off. I will sit in the corner facing the wall for one hour now. BC must be a very serious place for some people.

Which thread are you reading? I've read several positive comments and no commands or diktats. The overwhelming suggestion has been to try one.

You're well within your rights to make a prophesy of doom and gloom, but please don't berate the people who have contributed in a measured and constructive manner in the thread up to this point - I don't think that's fair.
Agreed! Added to which the OP started this thread asking for advice and some of which will be from haters/lovers of acoustic basses... in fact he will likely ONLY get advice from those two groups of people, so I'd expect on average for 50% of it to be negative!
 7.
Dolphins are between the 'frets' I believe, so no Dolphins would be harmed
Correct. Depending on who does it, a fret job can be done professionally for £120
 8.
Waaaaaaaaay too nice..........unfortunate for me It aint Fretted
...and fretting it would cost?
 9.
Nope, not that one. Its a 97 ss2 (3band eq, still has the old style neck though)........ Lovely piece of kit it is
10.
My band have talked about doing a couple of "unplugged" or acoustic gigs. The guitarists have acoustics and obvioulsy the drums are acoustic. I though it would be cool if I was acoustic too...
You could be 'electro' acoustic but don't ever imagine that you would be loud enough to keep up with a pair of unamplified acoustics... never mind a drummer (even using brushes/hot-rods)! I play in a 4 piece acoustic group (no drums) using a Washburn AB20 and it has a nice acoustic tone that sits in with the acoustic guitars (we all plug into a very small PA) but there'd not be a cat's chance in Hell of competing if I wasn't amplified; even house rehearsals I need to plug into a practice combo when they are purely acoustic!
 11.
Think you should trade this for my ss2 4 string...
It's a LONG shot but if this were my old 80's SSII (which was light for a SSII) I'd have gotten involved in a trade with Kev!
 12. Tried photographing the side but the camera is useless in the present light but I can confirm the dots are where the frets 'should' be NOT between the frets as they would be on a fretted bass. They are white dots on the edge of the ebony board. If you still want pics, send me a PM and I'll see if I can get it sorted.

 14. Sorry, literally just sold.
 15. I'm going to say Aggie DB112s all day long!
 16.
How much do warwick's make at the moment? This came up on my normal ebay browsing Odd one this... one photo, local pickup only, pretty crappy advert really - might be a good deal there for someone, my wife would kill me if I accidentally won another auction for local pickup! http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3cdb3acc2a
It may have been cheap but not cheap enough to get a single bid!
 17. I've info on my old hard drive re. the EQ switches on those SD pups but it isn't connected up. A trawl of t'interweb should get you the info but essentially (IIRC) all 3 alter the EQ frequency response of the pups in various ways.
 18. Brian's a top bloke. Nice easy easy deal with Brian doing a bank transfer as soon as the deal was finalised.
 19. I owned a Super Jazz and I adapted to the fanned frets in minutes (35 years playing 'normal' 4's)... though I never used the dusty end! Oddly enough I can't say that I noticed a night/day difference in playability, string tension or tone but it was a superb instrument in its own right regardless.
 20. Did you get my PM re. Dolphin fretless 4?
 21.
The one in my avatar is a 2005 SS1. According to Warwick it's swamp ash.
Another classic Warwick customer response! Your bass is without a shadow of doubt a Maple bass it is NOT Ash of any form.
 22.
If you have back problems then in my opinion you are looking at the wrong gear; very good and great sounding gear, but wrong because it is very heavy gear. But I guess if you think that the weight of that amp is doable then the cabs will be OK. Get a good trolley.
+1 If you can hump the DB750 about, carrying a DB112 is about the same. I owned a pair of DB112's (one with tweeter, one sans) and I'd carry them short distances one in each hand BUT not too far as they are weighty as a pair. I always took two everywhere (gig and rehearsal), hence elected to buy a Berg AE212 which isn't much heavier than a single DB112 but narrower with a pair of handles... result. As a general rule, if it was mare than a few yards, I'd pick the DB112 up with the handle and then cradled it with both arms to carry, it's also not easiest to carry by the handle when going through doorways. Still miss the tone of the Aggies though and would have a pair back tomorrow. No fear with the handle strength though, they are well constructed/fitted and shouldn't cause any concerns.
 23. Yes the angled wedge is (an extreme) version of the tilt that I would find beneficial but the angled baffle means I still have a horizontal surface to sit my amp.
