1.
What year (i.e. how old) is the red Stage 1?
One of the pics shows it to be 2003
2. Looking for something like this to rack with a 1U bass pre but I'm at the other end of the country!
3. Yep, so £550-£650 is an average sort of price for a used one on here but the mods may well be just what someone is looking for and add a bit to the value... or not as the case may be. I'd suggest starting a sale thread to see what happens otherwise it could be construed as selling via the 'back-door'!
4. Search the sales thread to get an idea of BC prices and do a search of completed sales on ebay. Alternatively if you bought the bass new knock approx 30% off what you paid; the mods will likely add to desirability... or devalue for others but you'd not get back a fraction of what they will have cost you! If you bought it used then at least you have that starting point for a price.
5. Do both of your cabs have tweeters and do you have covers for them?
6. This is one of the original release but they have reintroduced it since. If Warwick as a brand are a bit Marmite then the NM is like peanut butter and Marmite combined!
7. TBH most folks looking at that will see the pic of the crack in the fingerboard, read his patter about high action and the bit about the truss rod... then they'd walk away even if it was £400! A quick trawl through BC seems to show that BCers would be happy to pay £600-£700 for an SB1 in decent nick so I'd not imagine that bass will get many bites from members on here (unless they have a spare G&L neck).
8.
He's using that as a coverup I think each to their own. Still not worth trading something good for a broken truss rod!
Do you know the seller or have history with the bass?
9. He's got info in the ad' now re. the truss rod!n
10.
Sorry for the OT John, this streamer is awesome too
No probs! I voiced a theory that the 5th Anniversary was out in 87 and around 87 after the 5ths were released they may have had spare cavity covers sitting around the factory and chances are that 'W' wouldn't just sling them, they may well have fitted them to basses at a later date ('W' weren't a massive company back then so waste would be frowned upon); 87-88 ish. I've seen (on-line) at least two other basses that have 5th plates that are NOT Anniversary model basses, which leads me to think that it isn't a case of someone accidentally swapping a cover over.
11.
mmmmm warwicky goodness.....
Cheers Luke, presently on hold as I have someone local coming to look it over.
12. Quick question; if you unplug and take the 2x10 out of the equation is your 'perceived' volume the same/less/more? I only ask as I have personal experience of folks borrowing or using speaker cables that are wired out of phase with each other, when you have a pair of cables/cabs out of phase your perceived volume from a pair of cabs is less than when using just one cab. Just a thought, as IMHO Peavey gear is pretty good at pumping out volume and I'd be surprised if gear in good nick would struggle as you describe!
13. How do you want to sort out the tickets Dan?
14. I had the 6x10 version of this and it was a fantastic cab that just got better the more power you chucked through it! I remember seeing this at Mick's house and despite wanting/needing a one-cab 'small' solution I almost went for this. Great cab, for not alot of money.
15. It went to E Europe, to a Warwick endorsee. It had been butchered before I got it which justified the refinish but it wasn't a cheapy job getting it done, especially with the revealed thru-neck.
16. There are some solid colours that are just 'classic' but I agree not all work... luckily beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
17.
I know it's blue but even you'ld have to say that looks nice!
It's blue and it's a Thumb... what's to like?
18.
my 98 thumb
Not a 98 mate! Does that bass still have the sticker on the control cavity?
19. So long as it isn't cheaper to just buy my own ticket, I'm not bothered!
20.
Pity about some of the guys on here acting like 5 year olds.

21. Put me down for 2 tickets Dan.
22.
This is my new Zon Sonus Custom with a Redwood Burl top.
Lovely.
23. Great basses and I have no doubt that I will own another one day.
24. Well no 'great' surprise that this is effectively sold... and on it's way back to a former owner!
25. Saw him a few times over the last few years and he was still using Marshall (valve jobbies) but I'm sure he'll have used an Ampeg at some time so this can be justified.
