  1. Even up until recently I still search on eBay for used M1s... 🤣
  2. Oh my, used to Richard around on my mate's DX7 years ago. I very nearly parted cash for an M1 when I was 18, trying out that and the D-50 at the time...
  3. Yeah, got that one on the watch list while I keep scouring round. Don't know why I'm not so keen on the black against the red and blue options...
  4. Had my eye on a couple of the 5 strings there while holding out for a TRBX305. Can't find one for love nor money so may go for one of the Action Plus V's although I note his have now gone...
  5. Just bought Jon's Zoom B1on. Pleasure to deal with, fast posting and arrived well packaged and in top condition. Cheers Jon!
  6. Thread necromancy... Saw Nick play with Ellis Beggs and Howard in around '89 when they supported T'Pau. Liked EBH, pity the second album never came to fruition although it was made available through Nick's website for a while
  7. Used to play drums in a previous life (Dad was a session drummer and brother played too...) and always fancied a nice wooden snare along with a brass piccolo if I ever decided to get my own kit rather than use my brother's! Pity those stains won't go although perhaps they might be masked enough with an oil that gives the wood a slightly darker finish?
  8. When you get your search results, wait a few seconds before selecting any of the options such as "Newest results first" as there's a throttle on how often you can search. Do it too quick and you'll be told you have to wait and you may have to start your search again... What would be good is if the titles had a conformity about them, for example: £500 - Brand - Model - 4/5 String - Delivery Type/Pickup Only ...and sold items were moved to a sub-forum. This would also allow you to sort the channel by the title and see everything in value order so you could go straight to your budget bracket.
  9. Watched a vid of them performing live in Holland back in 2009 a couple of months back. For some reason was more drawn to Gary Husband's drumming...
  10. While there's no doubt some of his writing was masterful in the day, he chose to leave and start the animosity off with his legal actions. If he'd simply walked away, the landscape would, possibly, have been totally different leading to who knows what now. Unfortunately, I don't think the video won't do him any favours with those who're not big RW fans. His stressing of "FANS of Pink Floyd" at the start comes across as a put down, "we should rise up" as he talks about "not getting weird"... You left, you tried to block them, they're now doing what you tried to do unsuccessfully.
  11. I've not bought (yet!) but I'll likely buy online without the shop visit. I'm not looking at a big budget (I'd love to have a big budget!) but given it'll be for my own entertainment, I'm happy to take that chance. And if I don't like what I get, I'll resell it and try something else...
  12. I'd use my middle name but that's Andrew... Erm, oh, wait.... NOOOOOO!
  13. Just found that an old fave of mine have released a full live play through of their biggest album. Extreme - Pornograffitti Live 25. Probably sound better live now than when I saw them in the early 90's touring III Sides...
  14. Thoroughly enjoyed watching through some of these along with Guy Pratt's. Both come across exceptionally well personally as well as their obvious passion and gift at what they do...
  15. Hi all! In my late 40's and only now actually looking to pick up my own bass for the first time to get back into playing again. I say again, the last time I played was somewhere around 20 years ago! Self taught myself at school in the final couple of years there, getting myself to a point where I could back groups/singers in school concerts effectively then started making random appearances on stage with friend's in Edinburgh for a couple of numbers (usually Sympathy For The Devil, Rockin In The Free World and/or Whole Of The Moon - they were the "guest songs") on his WAL and Fender Jazz basses. After a change in life circumstances, stopped going along to see them then ended up on a slightly "hobo" style life with a more addresses than the number of years for the past 10 years so adding to the house contents was never on the table - until now! Still trying to work a budget out but have started to look around various sites for potential deals to get me back into learning again - and for some reason have a strange fancy to go straight to a 5-string... Will I join friends back on stage when I go back to see them (they're still gigging!) - yes. Will I ever hope to do anything more than that? Naaaah - really just want to enjoy picking one up, playing along with my favourite tunes and dream of what might have been if I'd stuck at it in my younger years!
