1. i got a grey plastic case thing with a compartment in the top with little sections in to keep plectrums.tuner, bits n pieces, sharpies for signing autographs with, also band stickers for putting up in the bogs of venues....
2. im the invisible bassest...the guitarest get everyone talking to them after a gig n im just left on me own!!!!.....i like Alan Davey!!!
3. its kinda geddy lee sound!! or the other way to do it is get a small head say 50w valve and crank it,or deffinate for a dirty sound os buy a ric on neck pup n crank the 50....depending on how much distortion u want get a jcm 900 marshall higain lead amp.
4. no the 215s are what i reherse with at our studio and use to play live.....for bedroom practice iv only got 212s!!,think u might be right bout marshalls!!,i was thinking bigger the power the higher the vol curve....so smaller 150/200 watts may go to lower volumes as less powerfull?
5. im amounting amps!!!,the amp i always end up back to my 80s solidstate laney dp 150,it seems to be the only amp i can get down to half!! with a clean audiable sound, this amp only ever goes up to one on the gain 2/3 master at gigs...as im always being told this is too loud amp!!!i dont need big amps really as im not fighting against a drummer as we used drum midis we ha PA but we have a small rehersal room.. wich we cant go to loud in as the vocal feeds back...so hears my beef,i was using a 100w marshall all valve 100w...sounded quite crap as i couldnt drive the valves, then i bought a marshall mb450 wich is hybrid, valve in it,turn it down to our studio level same...fuzzy distored and no real volume, then i got a hartke 350w,great amp turned up....but same thing as it got a valve in turn it to half same, fuzzy sound,so my conclusion...anything with a valve cant be turned down low enough, like half?but my question can all solid state amps go down this low with a clear sound? as i may get 300w ss,im after cleaner head room,or was gonna go after a peavey nitro,or something around 200w,but i dont want to fall in the trap of buying another amp and its not going to go down low enough.so do all 80's ss amps of between 150-400w go low and clean in practice/bedroom situation?? im using 215s...
6. iv never been a fan of reliced basses i got a 35 yr old bass thats still great nick! but this one i love...im going to try and buy it....http://alandaveymusic.com/pics.php/my-1-bass

10. dunno if this is the right place but....im looking to have a body made, either like an ovation magnum or lacey helix, some odd shape.i shall be using the hardware and neck from an ibanez gsr 200 as they seem to be worthless on a resale value!! but is there a specific distance from the bridge to the nut ect or is the no rule of thumb?
11. he needs to look for amari plastics or perspex distribution for scratch plate material
12. ok as some may know i got a 118 celestion substation, which it turns out to be paralle 4ohm,i always thought it was 8!!...anyway no biggie on my laney...but as the marshall i now have is 8 or 16 ohm,,what i need to know now is.......if its plugged in to direct mono is it going through the cross over or is that direct to speaker? as there are 4 speakon connectors in the back.... also if i were to wire it serial would i just treat it the same as 2 seperate speakers? as my plan was to wire serial, come back to di mono jack, unsolder wires that are on there and bring speaker wires to that, basically bipassing the cross over if thats used....plauseable? ala...16ohms... or the other was to put another speakeron jack in and wire to a single coil....8ohm!
13. ok so if ur head has a minimum of 8 Ohms use one plug @8ohms....to use both u then have to have 2 16 ohm cabs??
14. Ok im all ohmed out... 2 inputs in the back of an amp....8ohms total.....so if i Plugged 2 8ohm cabs in this would then be 4ohm in put?? Id have to use 2 16 ohm cabs??!! My head hurts!!

16. fools gold the roses.... delerium...no....roundabout......no ermmm....sod it anything of fragile.....no erm....yours is no disgrace....sod it anything by chris squire!!! the night...frankie valli no class...lemmy... red barchetta...geddy..... 5:15 the ox bell boy... the ox oh theres to many...i only really watch bassests......shes wrote a crock of sh*te......we do cannonball but it sounds real different, same as 7 nation army and our trance version of NIB!!

19. mr foxen it just whats on the impednece switch its just got 16(4) on the jackhole so presume they sayin this could be for a 4x cab...
20. ive just got a marshall head, but its giving me headache....on the back there is standard 2 outputs!! but theres a switch for 8Ohm and 16(4) Ohm i t ake it the 16(4) is to plug a 4x cab in,so i gather i cant use a single 4Ohm cab? also if use 2 cabs how would this break down between the 2 inputs?...im all ohms lawed out!!!
21. cheers dude,i have a spare wich i left at a gig and seems to be reluctant to return home!! thers no jack facillety just speakon, ill have to see if the sound blokes got a spare!!
