3. sorry for my spelling english is only my first language AITCH!!......what descreet said!! leen, not enough bottom end... thin bass...
4. im listening/watching bands and im finding a "trend" for midrangey trebely bass,u can hear a different guitar in the mix ...me i like to feel the bass...i like people to feel my bass, not to the point its just a muddy drone,i like a thumping rhythem, but do like a crisp sound when i do a run,but im just not just feeling it...or is it just me?
5. what sun fish said....but im on this journey so ur preaching to the choir brother,iv got a 150w laney and 215s,the amount of people that say ive got a massive bottom end tone with that and my tbird,i played a small pub gig then the next night i played robin2 bilston the next night and i never changed the vol....i try to explain to my guitarests they just say its a waste as 90% we are going through foh so i dont need a big amp,but they keep trying to get rid of my gear and i DI to the desk, wich would be like being on stage with no trousers on!!,but so far this year ive had a hartke3500 wich was immence,a marshall mb450 wich was...well...and i still have the marshall valve head with eq pedel but breaks up to early as its a lead amp jcm 900 higain!! wich im selling, the hartke would be the one if i was in a band with a live drummer,we use drum machines!! so rehersals my amp is set to half so valves and hybrids are no good as they go horribly fuzzy that quiet....so at the end of they day i always end up back at my laney DP 150....i paid £35 for so ive spent hundreds on amps and come back to the cheapest...and everybody thinks the tone is good!!
6. still on my journey to tonal nirvana, finding hybrids/tubes dont go down low enough cleanly,so solid state are the way!! i need some thing thats clean at half, the laney does but brakes up early cranking,i want more head room just in case i need it,was looking at these as they pretty cheap, was also looking at deltas, firebirds may be a little too big!! any veiws oppinions on these?

17. dude, never to old...folk punk...so u were a crusty!!!...all hail crust-core!!! i had a bass since 13 then bout 19 i stopped playing it,then few years back i wanted to do a crust core band...but i was getting kids who wanted to be famous ect....i just wanted to make a glorious noise!!...anyway i was just about to give up and put the bass away in the loft forever, when an old mate asked me if i wanted to bass for his band...very daunting....i had no gear really, just a bust up old ric copy, and an ibanez cheap thing that i was given, anyway i had a 115 cab so i went to cash converters and bought a power amp for £25!! its ok for practice, then i bought a 118 sub for 20£,i bought a laney 150w head of ebay for £35...wich i gig with,i then bought another 15 driver for £5 off ebay, our studio chucked out a pair of empty cabs so i had them put my speakers in it....so i really had a giggable rig for £50!!!...and people always comment on the massive bottom end it has!!,i restored my ric copy, then a i copped a epi thunder bird for £90 wich is great!,iv had marshalls.hartke ect but always end up back at my cheap laney...in other words keep searching ebay cash converters ect,u can get solid state heads for less than £50...i fried my original 15 with the hartke...beast of a head!! i replaced it with a 'damaged'cab off ebay for less than £40....but it is addictive...more amps...more basses....once u start collecting its amazing how things gravitate to u cheap or for free....some gave me a columbus les paul and the same gave me a westone thunder that they were gonn nail to the garden wall and throw rocks at it!! percivere its out there!!!
18. try sticking an 118 sub under ur 810!!,but like others i like 215s they suit me,mean tiny tower of terror!!they fit on most small venue stages were u wouldnt get a 412 or a fridge on it, ive got 412 cab,not me!!,took 212s out and built a 212 cab to the ashdown dims, sounds ok but justnot enough i use it as practice amp,iv got a 118 that ting moves buildings but just not enough mids,i was watching myself on utoob the other day at a festival and back line was laney with an 810 cab,i wasnt that impressed with it...might try 212 and 115 combo...
19. i think these cabs needa tight cab 610s/810s ectbut i have had it full in my house!! i think im going deaf...it didnt seem loud really!,classic sounds ok,but dont think its the amp for me!!,i run 2 15s and it dont sound to good thro em!might spend a tenner on a new valve
20. mdf dude...go to a local joiners/exhibition builders the scrap litrely tons of the stuff, belive me iv help smash up 200ks worth of sets from a charity in london,i wont mention the 12k kitchen i burnt!!..tho it was aubegene!!,u have see the one on adverts on tv!!,any way the get rid of loads of wood and if u got the sizes, chuck em a beer token to route out the speaker holes for ya!! and ffs dont plug in 2 4ohm cabs ull fry ur amp...that gives u 2 0hm,ur cabs need to be 8 ohm each....unlees ur amp maxes at 2 ohm!!
