1. Ah! Guitarland!! Great shop, nice bloke nigel . He,s still doing well with his own band.
2. What a result! More power to ya bro!! Make sure you,ve always got a sharpie in your pocket for signing autographs. Live it love it.
3. This is a great bass to play now that I,ve spent quite a bit of time levelling the frets and it now has a set of Newtone strings fitted. It also has a strap pin extension fitted to the top horn to sort out the neck dive.
4. There,s your answer matey!! Have a great tour.
5.
the back of my SVT II (non pro) is open and you can see/touch the valves, im going on tour in march and i was just wondering if there were any ways i can stop any accidents smashing all my valves, i cant afford a flightcase; so im thinking of some sort of home-brewed idea.
I can,t really suggest anything other than getting a rack case for it but keep away from moulded plastic cases such as SKB with handles in the sides as they can block the air passage to the fan air inlet. You really have an expensive and quality piece of kit there and the right case will keep it delivering the goods without hitch. I run a pair of svt2pros in the same case and they,ve been gunned insome of the hottest , sweatiest clubs I know and good ventilation keeps them happy.
6. Any news on the fx25? the cheque should have cleared by now.
7. Further to a couple of comments earlier, I think the mcartney bass associated with rickenbacker was the c64 4001 that is all mapleglo finish and construction similar to the Chris Squire model without edge bindings and there was a six stringed guitar made back in the ninties with a body shaped like a cadillac coupe deville rear wing but I don,t know wether a bass model was ever produced, the guitar had a tremolo fitted that also operated the brake light on the tip of the wing as I recall.
8.
I'm intrigued by what this would sound like as a small home practice 'combo' - and on stage with 2x15" speakers and a 1000w amp!
I say build the beast and they will come...... along with most of the women in the room if you hit the right note!!
9.
Something like this? - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Boss-NS-2-Noise-Supp...%3A1|240%3A1318
I have one of those too. tho this is more like a noise gate that doesn,t actually remove noise, it simply is like a volume control that has a threshold level that you adjust so that when you are not playing the volume turns down so giving the illusion that your signal is quiet. I use one of these on the output of my big muff pedal so the that the damn thing appears a little less noisy when the muff signal loop is in, as all my pedals are on loops with true bypass when not in use, but still use the palmer at end before the amp as the boss pedal will not remove any signal noise while you are playing like the palmer does.
10. I use a big pedal chain and swear by the palmer line isolator PLI 01. Just put it as the last thing into your amp input, I use a two foot long cable and have it velcro,d to the side of the amp so it,s as close to the input as possible. It cleans up all sorts of interference and earthing hum, everyone in my band swears by them. You can get them from thomann online.
11. I,d go for the GK, I have an RB700 II combo It does the job when my ampegs are too big for the venue.
12. Hi there. It might be worth asking these guys. http://officialmatampownersclub.yuku.com/
13. Hi there in sunny reading!! I was down there yesterday helping to get a poor bloke to ride down to the town centre in a sinclair C5 to do some shopping.
14. I,d be very wary of one of these inlaid fingerboards unless you are handy with fret stoning and filing as my tony tsai 7 string took a lot of work to get playing well. Still it was worth the effort as it sounds great.
15.
And a stereo output on your bass.
You can use a Palmer PGA-03 tranformer isolated guitar splitter box, gives you one signal into 2 out with no nasty humming noises.
16.
excellent another biker, lets be having some photos blokes:) Here,s my old girl, Honda 750cj .
17. That,s the prettiest svt2 I,ve ever seen!! Well cool!!!
18. As far as I understand it, the Theremin, designed by a russian scientist called Leon theremin was the first regognised synthesizer ever built. It was produced by the RCA company back in the thirties( I think) and they are worth a bomb now if you can find one tho there a multitude of kit versions you can build yourselfaround today.
19. Check out Kiwi,s midi 6 bass that jon,s building at the mo for an example of a midi bass for triggering a synthesizer.
20. A lot of fair comments on here about this, and green tinted is probably their finest hour but if you,re prepared for a bit of a listen check out 'addicted to that rush' for nothing other than a chance to jump up and down on the sofa AS PER men behaving badly and get a bit of air guitar/bass. Electric drill rock at it,s best!!!
21.
+100 Couldn't agree more..... what about those twats that play bass with a pick???? Let's have a go at them!!!
Cripes!!! Runs for cover!!!!
22. Hi all! My band is Limeshark ( link at bottom of post ) We are an original rock band with I suppose what you could call a progressive edge, we,ve been together for a few years now and are always tweaking and experimenting with our sound and song writing styles and we,ve changed quite a bit since the first few demos. Our first real album was released at the beginning of 2008 and we recieved a few good reviews including one from Geoff Barton of Classic Rock magazine ( the full review is in our 'press' section ). We are currently writing for a follow up which we hope to have done by the autumn. The album and all the early demos are on the site to be heard and there are four promo videos on there including our latest opus 'Stygian' [post="0"]Stygian promo widescreen version[/post] Hope you enjoy. Paul
