  1. As above, Roland JV1010 sound module. All works, just plug it into a controller keyboard and you're away. Hundreds of patches including all the classic fave Roland stuff. Great for a studio or live. Now £125 Collection Ashill Norfolk but could post, Guessing about £8 + ins if you want it.
  2. Great fun bit of kit for studio or live. Adds harmonies (2 or 4, can't remember) to vocals. All working and comes with non original PSU. No box. Happy to post but PSU weighs a bit so ask for cost. Plenty of reviews on You tube etc. No manual but really easy and obvious to navigate. If you're looking for something like this, you probably know what it does anyway. Now £50 Thanks.

  3. Was looking for a trade but now sorted, so, now just looking to clear out stuff that doesn't get used as we've moved to a bungalow and lost a few rooms so space is at a premium. I bought this as a bitsa. It probably does, but may not have Fender origins however, it plays like a dream, as good as any standard Fender jazz I've ever owned. Nice low action, working truss rod. Wilkinson Jazz set, Wilkinson gold coloured bridge, gold control plate, gold tuners, gold strap buttons and gold Fender anniversary neck plate. It's very pretty in metallic cerise and black headstock and the tort plate. 38mm at the nut, 19mm string spacing, 9lbs 2oz at the bathroom scales. No 100% idea of neck or body origin but I would guess it's a Fender neck as it's such nice quality. It has a head-stock Ser No dating to 1978 which is obviously not correct. (S829127) Neck has a beautiful honey hue to it and is seriously comfy and nippy. It sounds great, it plays great. Now £200 No case so handover preferred, or the usual dodgy car park within 15 / 20 miles of me. Welcome to come and try in Ashill near Swaffham/Watton IP25 7DA
  4. Based on the last Norfolk pub gig I did, I'd have this tomorrow if I it was nearer. Spent the evening expecting drunks to end up face down in the gear. Can't believe this is still here at £99. It's a steal.
  5. The point is, is she good looking enough to be a bass player? Irrespective of gender, it's a given that the bass player is, 99% of the time, the best looking in the band. If she wants to be in the club, then she needs the qualifications.
  6. I'm still gobsmacked at the news that there's a keyboard player out there who's prepared to actually pick up a bass to play all the bass lines.😉
  7. It's Spartacus. (Unless of course someone else is)
  8. I'd be really interested to hear your thoughts/review as an actual user when they arrive Douglas.
  9. I sold my acoustic kit last year. This will certainly not take up as much room. I'm sorely tempted😂
  10. If I'm honest, I'd give this a go for a laugh.
  11. I've always played this as the intro being shorter than (and different to) the verses. We repeat the intro, before the solo which is the same as a verse. ...and you'll probably find that all of us play it differently anyway as it's just an end of gig racket that's usually in A😂
  12. My wife's invited a few friends over and TBH, it's not really my cup of tea and would ideally, like to get rid of them by about 9.30 so, was wondering if you're free on the 26th😂
  13. Yup, Dusty was a one off. Always been a fan of her, but singing this song in particular, and gone are the days when all a solo had to do was mimic the vocal melody line. Same as on Girl from Ipanema, understated, but so perfect.
  14. The look of love. Beautiful song, beautifully sung.
  15. This is an easy one to answer. 1st. Simply, how I use and where I put my right hand fingers. 2nd. The spending of approximately £6,500,000 over the last 40 years on basses, amps and cabs, whilst totally convinced that this is the one😂
  16. For the last 11 or 12 years, it's been a set of strings from my daughter. Trouble is, they're not £15 any more. Great when I was using Elites on a 4 string but now, my fave strings are La Bella white nylons, on a 5 string. A set is anything up to £70 these days so I think it'll be back to the good old standby £20 Amazon voucher from the kids from now on.
  17. None really. Played probably a thousand gigs over 55 years, played with some great players, made some great friends and quite a few quid without having the pressure of relying on it to keep a roof over my head or put food on the table. However, selling the Roscoe Beck was a big mistake.😂
  18. Think Stan the man is still gigging.👍
  19. Isn't there a tad of irony in your first paragraph given the title of the thread? Especially the last four words😉 That translates to "It'll do for now but I'm sure there's something better out there"😂
  20. The greatest guitarist for me personally, Is the one that DOESN'T, constantly widdle in between numbers, or play far too loud at rehearsals or demand that everything gets done in keys that avoid an Eb chord.
  21. I thought I was better than I actually was. I'm basically lazy and these days tend to learn stuff at the last minute. I think I'm an asset to a band but not particularly to the art of bass playing. Back in France, I was in a hugely popular band (departmentally speaking) where other bands even struggled to get gigs if up against us. I played with some great musicians there and was quite in demand however, there's always a possibility of " big fish in a small pond" syndrome which I think, led me to believe I was better than I actually was. I get the impression now, that my popularity was more down to stage confidence due to a huge amount of gig experience which rubs off on others and makes the show more successful, an ability to busk a lot of stuff, and a vocal ability, be it lead or BVs. I'm now recently back in a covers band here in in Norfolk and can probably name a dozen other local bassists who are far better than me despite my 40 odd years of playing bass.😂
  22. Sorry to hear this. It's a real bummer. Hope yours gets sorted soon. I have arthritis in both thumb joints too as well as the tendonitis.
  23. Donna Summer with McArthur Park. I know a lot of people don't like the original either but it was a masterpiece of composition and production.
  24. Just for old times sake, went to see Wishbone Ash last night. Didn't know what to expect as it was only Andy Powell left out of the original lineup. Really pleasantly surprised. He's surrounded himself with three excellent players who've really done their homework. Great mix, lovely venue (the Apex in Bury St Edmonds) and they gave the audience exactly what they wanted. The other guitarist had what I'd call the best ever sound possible from one P90 pickup. All numbers played to the original version. £30 well spent.
