  1. Ah, my bandmates told me I was a lunatic for getting the BF Six10 but they love it, pushes the band in the right way - now they ask me to bring it even to practise 😁
  2. Ah thank you @Ralf1e! I thought I’d never rejoin again with a Cruz Teal… and we’ll my rig is admittedly more varied than with an SR Special 4 & 5…! Entertaining tunings now haha could keep the jazz on standard, standard with detuner to drop D on the p bass, D standard with detuner to Drop C for the Stingray… that’d cover both my project with two basses each and leave me room to pretend to play metal if need be 🤣, or have ‘almost a 5er’ when doing Drop C… … so much room for activities! 😂
  3. Haha! I like to have more than one bass in standard so that I can take them to studio for my band... setting and resetting again every time I go to the studio could be well annoying...! One bass for each band and another as backup.... the P could do BEAD for my neosoul bits, the standard for the punk rock thing and stingray drop C could work for some metal or something... we shall see! Ander.
  4. Thanks gents! Very happy with the three of them... I'm now debating whether I shall switch up some of the tunings, it wouldn't be crazy to put the P on BEAD or something, or a Drop C along the way... Oh well! Ander.
  5. This is what I am set for live lately…! And long May it last! ABM 600 Evo IV 20th anniversary and BF Six10
  6. Don’t assume you’d take trades for an Effectrode PC-2A
  7. I prefer the P bass traditionally - love a jazz neck though, and that zing pierces through the mix great, but precision as a foundation for me. Having said that... A stingray can be set as a P and a J in any case, or a hybrid on steroids! If I had to choose, 1st Stingray, 2nd Precision, 3rd Jazz. Ander.
  8. Ah, thanks gents! David, it may be a slippery slope if you look into the stingrays haha! Specially the last Special iteration, slimmer neck but P bass width...! And cheers Lozz, knowing what I play I don't think I can beat it as is...! Ander.
  9. So... some of you fine folk may remember how some 2 months ago I went on a rampage to sell my stingrays - simply too much money on gear when I had to recover from windows we replaced at home, and a bathroom renovation...! ... Resolved to sell the 'rays with pain in my heart, replaced by American Original series Fenders, P and J - how great are these basses? I was thoroughly impressed and managed to cash in a grand to ease things on the bank account. Being back in this forum (9 months hiatus to stop selling and buying!) I let my hair off and replaced my rig without much investment... Ashdown ABM 600 head and a mighty Barefaced Six10 - from an Eich T900 and a Big Baby 2. Fast forward the bathroom is done, the windows are paid and I had sold a couple watches so I had more than I needed and then I saw this Ray Special... In the Cruz Teal that only came out on the first series and that I so dearly love...! Out of what I wanted to spend, but received an offer on eBay and then I started to consider... I messaged the owner and he was happy to let it go at the last offer minus fees, pretty much the same price as you see on the regular MM Stingrays these days so I had to pull the trigger. Some crazy 6-7 hours to remind me why I hate driving to Manchester and 320 miles later I got home, set him up, waxed the neck, hydrated the board... et voila... Very, very ambivalent collection right here, Jesus even if it's only been a couple months I missed the stingray tone! Don't get me wrong, the passive Fenders are just brilliant and plan to keep using it... but there you go, a story that started sour selling my most beloved basses managed to come back even better than it started - to happy endings! Ander.
  10. Gorgeous! I’d say the first two pictures are sonic blue but then again many of these colours can be tricky. lovely bass, wish I could! GLWTS
  11. haha! Would it not be because I have a Six10 now, we could've arranged a swap @jembullo! It's got some interest and I think the price is right, but no commitments yet so still available!
  12. Well well well! I have completed my mini pedalboard after a solid 2-3 years of not using pedals! polytune 3 mini - Effectrode PC-2A Compressor - Fuzzrocious Lil Fella - Zvex Woolly Mammoth fuzz - Zvex Instant Lo-Fi Junky chorus the Zvex design is not very inviting or friendly for stomping especially if placed on the side (against all knobs) so I stacked them under each other… very impressed with my Pedaltrain Nano!! My wife even asked me to pose with it as I accept it as my new Lord and Saviour (probs just taking the fosters at my excitement):
  13. Would've thought it'd fly at £700...! Can hear offers if reasonable or if I'm way off somehow, but it seems this is what these have been sold for - cheers! Ander.

  15. Bob @Hacksawbob just bought a polytune pedal from me - serious and quick payment, good communications an altogether a super easy transaction. Would definitely deal with him again.

  17. Oh this thing rips! Better bottom management than the Alpha Omega and a crunchier type of distortion (more alpha than omega lol) since I’m waiting for power supply board and cables I can only try it at 9v but bear with me, 18v should be here soon!
  18. Hi folk I'm building a mini pedalboard with the subsequent dance of pedals so I'm letting go of these. 1. Alpha Omega - in really great shape with box (box has a tear but all else is good and pedal impeccable) - £160 2. TC electronics Polytune - £40 will trade for a polytune mini, whichever... or sell. 3. Collaboration Devices The Compressor, US Imported and perfectly mint - £220 - Got this recently and I love this pedal especially with the added gain stage, BUT, I've seen something I like and I have enough gain stages. Transparent, great at limiting peaks, and the gain stage does cover from overdrive to distortion - THIS VIDEO was super useful! *cat not included. Quick picture but can take more to show details. Posting not included Ander.
  19. Well, we're nearly there... Only the board and patch cables and PSU missing I'm very likely replacing the Alpha Omega for the Lil Fella that's on it's way... having the woolly mammoth I've all the fuzz I could want so the lil fella will be my standard 'traditional' distortion... And 'just when I thought I was out... they pull me back in' - I'm currently gassing over the PC-2A compressor from Effectrode... a valve inside!? what kind of witchcraft is this! https://www.effectrode.com/products/effects-pedals/pc-2a-tube-compressor/
  20. Thank you! Loving it to bits. And more so now with my Six10!
  21. Well. I’m back to pedals after denying them once again. I’ve recently changed all my rig to put some money in the bank but buying 2nd hand I have found very, very good classics (Fenders American Original precision, jazz… ABM 600 and a BF 610). Now that I love my tone even more than before (conflicting since my previous rig was pricier 😅) I’m back to studying what pedals do I want rather than an overwhelming (to me) HX effects. My first instinct was to get a Darkglass since I know them well. The Alpha Omega is pretty cool but maybe overkill for a punk rock trio… and I find Darkglass nails the treble but eats a lot of body/bass to my liking. so I bought a Pedaltrain nano and I’ve been checking and buying some bits… my chain will be Tuner / Compressor/ distortion/ fuzz. So far, my finding has been the collaboration devices compressor. Simple and clean without enhancing tone much but doing its job. And with a gain stage that is quite tasty! That’ll do for overdrive. Also on the way and to finish off the board I’ve a Fuzzrocious Lil Fella for distortion. The gate switch seemed very cool especially since a Woolly Mammoth fuzz will be here too, to put in front of! WHAT A JOURNEY!!! This has been all in my biggest gear revolution… As you can see, I’ve gone from ‘ah I don’t like pedals’ to a rather boutique mini board… and since I’ve not used pedals in like 2 years, I have to start from scratch from the board itself to the psu and patch cables - wish me luck! Ander.
  22. I’ve been here. Looking for a holy grail that does everything… but Jesus. Much as I don’t GAS much over pedals (basses defo, then amps/cabs), a multi effects ends up feeling overwhelming. we’re bassists after all, and for me that sounds like tuner compressor octaver distortion fuzz chorus and maybe synth. I play much more with individual pedals than I do with a multi effects. I had the HX Effects and whilst it’s a great unit and relatively easy to use, I found all those options overwhelming, and once it’s set I forget about the presets etc. I know ‘set and forget’ is great for some but don’t you guys think it takes the magic away from playing with pedals? Im back to building a mini pedalboard (nano) and will have, for my punk rock trio, tuner, compressor (with overdrive on footswitch), fuzz and distortion (with gate on a switch). IF my neosoul project kickstarts again I’ll remove the fuzz and distortion and add a keeley caverns (delay and reverb) or a chorus and reverb at most. I’m hoping it’ll work! To my ears also good individual pedals sound more in your face and direct than multi effects. PS I’ve switched my amp head for an ABM 600 and I love it’s sound so much…! I feel normal pedals respect that base tone more than my ex HX Effects.
  23. Peter bought my Eich T900. Serious buyer, fair and quick with payment too. A pleasure to deal with, would totally recommend. Ander.
