  1. I have this bass now. Hopefully I will keep it longer than the first two owners. 😬
  2. For Sale, my very recently acquired Cort Elrick NJS 4 string bass in black. The bass was purchased in January 2024 and is pretty much as new. It has been played at home so there is some very minor cosmetic wear but nothing really noticeable. The bass plays and sounds very well and weights in around 8.5 pounds so it’s not at all heavy. I am looking for a straight sale but I will also consider trades for 4 or 5 string basses (Yamaha, Musicman etc) The bass comes in a high quality well padded gig bag which is absolutely spotless. Since their launch they have made quite an impression on the market and the current rrp is anywhere from £900- £995. I am based in Wigan and would prefer collection, but a meet up can definitely be arranged if necessary. Any questions please drop me a line. Thank you for looking.
  3. I have a Sadowsky Metro Express, one of the Japanese made ones, it’s absolutely killer. I believe they may have been made by Atelier Z. Mine is a 2018, I have only seen one other. It’s light as a feather but not quite as light as your Vincent.
  4. Killer basses, this one looks particularly nice.
  5. I have for sale a mint condition Vintage White Sire V5 24 fretless 4 string bass recently acquired from Andertons. I stupidly didn’t buy a gig bag as I had a spare at home which I have since discovered doesn’t fit but I do still have the inner and outer box. This is a lovely instrument but playing fretless bass just doesn’t seem to work for me I’m afraid. I have replaced the stock strings with quality nylon tape wounds which provide a lovely feel and a nice warm fretless mwah especially when the rear pickup is engaged. The action at the moment is medium/ medium low and seems to work well to get the desired fretless sound. This very model is currently listed at £459 on Andertons’ site. I will entertain any offers that are sensible and in the region of my published price. Collection is preferred as I am working away in Spain from Wednesday 3rd. If you have any questions please ask.

  6. Looks and sounds lovely. Great price too for something of that quality. GLWTS.
  7. I bought this recently on a whim and just haven’t used it. It really is as mint as it’s possible to get without being brand new. As you can see I have the box, instructions and power supply. Save yourself a few quid over a new one and grab this, it’s a great unit and possibly one of the best compact multi fx units that’s ever been built specifically for bass. Please let me know if you have any questions. I would rather someone collect this but will post very well packaged at the purchaser’s risk and share the cost of postage.
  8. That really is something special. I love Yamaha instruments, they are super cool and always seem to hit the spot tone wise. I’m very tempted and only down the road from you too in sunny Wigan. Trouble is if I buy this I will probably not play my Sadowsky. Might give me the chance to move the Sadowsky on, if it plays and sounds as good as it looks!
  9. Lovely bass, bit too far away for me though, GLWTS.
  10. Lovely bass mate, GLWTS. Kind regards, Mark.
  11. I didn’t TBH, when I watch this clip there’s so much going on I’m just trying to comprehend what the hell he’s doing. I wouldn’t have noticed the pre, maybe I’m just not that detail orientated 😂
  12. Undoubtedly one of the most underrated bass players on the planet, and one of the best. I saw him a few years ago with The Sunburst Band and he was sensational. All the stuff he performed with Incognito is also a must listen, the best of all their bass players IMHO.
  13. I have already mentioned Marcus Miller as my number 1 but it was a hard choice. For those of you who have never come across a band called Sixun, the guy in the video Michel Alibo is Sixun’s bass player. Originating from Martinique he settled in France and was a founding member of the band . A huge influence on me, but sadly virtually unknown in the UK. Jo Zawinul from Weather Report recruited several members of bands based in France including drummer Paco Sery from Sixun and bassist Etienne Mbappe from Ultramarine, eventually replacing Mbappe with another French based bass player Linley Marthe an absolutely exceptional talent. You might want to check these players out if you’re curious. Here’s Michel playing some frankly ridiculous bass to Sixun’s track Djoudjou. Hope you enjoy it and find some new inspiration.
  14. Awesome bass, I was in the shop with you and Gaz when you decided to buy this. I must admit I had my eye on it as well but I have never managed to stick with a 5 string. Good luck, hope you’re enjoying the M bass it’s a beauty. Cheers, Mark.
  15. ‘Human Synths’ by the amazing Horn House. Bass duties are performed by Laurence Cottle, Stefan Redtenbacher, Nichol Thomson and Nathan King. An absolutely fantastic pop album with some of the best horn section playing you will ever hear.
  16. Marcus Miller for me, closely followed by Michel Alibo.
  17. Hello Brian, I’m very sorry to hear about your predicament. I would like to send my very best wishes for your future health and for the sale of your lovely bass. All the best, Mark.
  18. Thank you Billybass. I love the sound of the GK, it’s an incredible piece of kit. However I have a damaged right arm and the combo is just a bit too bulky to carry around comfortably. It’s far from heavy but I have a preference for something smaller if possible.
  19. Does anyone have a Mark Bass combo or similar that they would like to trade? Must be in excellent condition. Cheers.
  20. I recently bought this excellent GK Legacy 800 watt combo to fulfill a specific gigging requirement which hasn’t materialised. It has been used a couple of times for practice only. Make no mistake this is a full on pro quality gigging combo which is load enough to shake the foundations of my house if I turn it up past half way which I haven’t tried to do yet. It has a full feature set included and a very useable drive section which can be controlled by the supplied footswitch. I believe the model I bought was discontinued new old stock and the new versions have a metal grill instead of a nylon front cover. Nevertheless the rrp on my amp was well over £1000. I sported a version online with a 12inch speaker which is listed at £900 plus, so hopefully this will be a bargain for someone. Please see full specs below. The Legacy 800 amplifier on its own sells in the UK for £850 so this should be a real bargain for someone. Buy it, connect a second GK cab and play whatever venue you want to. 😀 My preference is to trade this for a combo of similar quality that’s a little more portable and still useable for small gigs. Please see specs below. Please note that this combo was made in the US and is built like a tank, it is in MINT CONDITION. Any questions please ask away. Come and try it if you’re local. 21. I forgot to add that I bought a German made Sadowsky a couple of months ago as an early 60th birthday treat from a well known retail chain. It had the MM/J configuration and a rare Snakewood top. The price was close to £3500. When the bass arrived I noticed during the unpacking process a disclaimer that the top was prone to cracking. There was no mention of this on the retailer’s website. When I checked the bass itself I noticed a couple of cracks which were pretty unsightly. The bass was duly returned and my money refunded. Despite this I wouldn’t be put off considering another Sadowsky Metro but at the price point there are a number of other options I would also consider instead. That being said it would take something special to beat my Japanese 2018 MetroExpress which is stunning. Thanks to Will at BassBros for looking after me!
  22. AFAIAA if you are referring to distance selling regulations the item also needs to be in the same cosmetic condition that it was supplied in, and the purchaser is also liable for the cost of the return shipping. Good luck either way!
  23. Mike recently bought my Fender Rumble combo. The transaction went exactly as we’d agreed via our PM’s which was great as I was out of the country working at the time of collection. Fabulous buyer, highly recommended. Thanks Mike!
